The first time I used Sue's could not have been happier. She repaired a rip in the knee of a pair of cotton pants. What a great job - the repair is completely invisible. After that experience I was convinced I had found the best cleaner and alteration place. Imagine my surprise when I came back a couple of months later to have a skirt taken in. Another women was at the counter and she said would not do the work, stuffed my skirt in a bag and threw it at me. When I asked to speak to the original person I dealt with, she refused to let me. I took a long sleeve button up shirt here to be dry cleaned. I checked and made sure that the two plastic things that keep the corners of the collar looking straight/pointy are inside and in place. Upon return, those little plastic things for the collars are missing. Good thing I had an extra set. The shirt looked fine. $4 per shirt was ok, I guess. read more

I do not really dry clean my clothes. Rarely do I dry clean my suits. I really do not use them. However, as we all know, most dry cleaners do stuff like hemming. How can you beat $8 for next day hemming? They do a really good job to boot. I've brought other tops and bottoms that I wanted altered. There's no doubt that Sue's Cleaners has a great tailor. They have a small dressing room where you can jump into the clothing you need altered. There's interesting fish art in dressing room that you can enjoy while you dress and undress lol! The lady that attends customers is very nice. As far as parking is concerned I don't really need it since this place is walking distance from my apartment. However, there is free street parking available usually. read more

The lady who is almost always there is very nice and her prices are definitely reasonable. I will definitely come back. I had a dress that I had bought altered here. I told her what I wanted, the cut and the seam; however, I was a bit concerned originally that because she didn't have me try it on in front of her to mark the alterations, that it may come out too short or not to par. I was SO WRONG! Even though I didn't try on the dress, I guess because I knew what I wanted and was clear with my expectations, she was able to turn it into reality and my newly altered dress looked awesome for the wedding I went to! The prices are very reasonable and the turn around time is quick, quick, quick! I had my dry cleaning and all pants altered in 3 days. Other places that I've been to have taken up to a week... I love this place. My husband started taking his suits and dress shirts here and last time i gave a few of my own pieces to be cleaned. The prices are pretty much as low as you can find for good quality cleaning. I was also super pleasantly surprised that one of my designer blazers that had a tear in the fabric was returned with the tear magically fixed. I hadn't even asked them to fix it! They had our order of four suits, 6 shirts, a blazer, and slacks all ready within two days. We'll support the business as long as we're in LA. read more

I've been to several dry cleaners and tailor shops through out my life. And Sue's has probably been one of the best I've been too. I happen to stop into Sue's cause I needed the following things on the alteration of my pants: 1. QUICK TURN AROUND TIME 2. QUALITY WORK - (even better than the alterations I receive at huge department stores.) 3. CHEAP!! As I'm always on a budget I got all FOUR plus more! Very sweet lady. I think the secret is telling her your desperate situation :) and being sweet, she'll do anything she can for you. All that mattered was i got everything on time, professional workmanship and a great price. I've sent my whole family here and they're now loyal customers of Sue's cleaners. You know, I initially left a five star review because I've been going to Sue for some time. Gradually I've noticed that her prices fluctuate (sometimes i'm happy sometimes I straight tell her that it's expensive). I went to her this last time and got 2 jeans altered. She tells me to come back in a few days and I do. She tells me that its saturday (her friend is at the shop) she "doesn't feel like working" (Really?!?!?!?!)- come back Tuesday. I tell her well I was planning on wearing my new jeans to my birthday party. She tells me I can wait. Tuesday I arrive and she gives me the price and I tell her its expensive. She tells me (in Korean) that I have the face of a poor person so she'll knock off a few bucks. A Korean customer/friend giggles in the back. I grab my clothes, don't thank her and leave vowing to never come back again. In the past, I've spoken to Sue in length about how crappy Koreans seem to treat each other. I know that if I went to an American place, they would never say what she said. Also, I know that if I were a white customer she would never have said what she said. Too bad she's become one of those Korean people we complained about that one day together. No thanks Sue, I'm sure you know who I am- I'll take my business elsewhere, perhaps to a place that doesn't judge their customers and ridicule them to their face while there minions sit by giggling.
