Tried something new. Ordered grilled chicken (off the bob)and a chopped salad. Very limited with sides. Chicken was very dry and not a lot of taste. Actually had to add salt. Salad was okay. Drinks very pricey!!!!! Even pita bread and Tzatziki sauce wasnt the best ive had. Nicholas james better. Too many restaurants in the area. Need to step up their game. read more

It was my first time there with my husband. The decor was nice and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I loved their spinach pies and entries and will definitely try again. I didn't like the goat cheese because they were too salty. The waitress was obviously new there and was unable to answer my questions about the wine and food on the menu. Excellent service and incredible food. We loved everything we ordered!! The falafel, hummus, babaganoush and vegetarian moussaka were huge hits with myself as well as my kids and my husband savored every bite of his flavorful lamb kebob. First let me start by saying, the only reason this review is getting 3 stars is simply because of the size of what I got. Today I ordered for lunch the appetizer of Spinach Pie, I guess maybe I am used to the sizes of Spinach pie to be big like every other Mediterranean place I have ever been to but for the price and the small 2 pieces I received today was kind of disappointing, no where near the size I ever got any where else. I will order from here again because yes even though it was very very small, it as very very tasty!!! Just wasn't worth the money!!!! read more

We had a family reunion there this weekend in the private room upstairs. There were 21 of us and we had a great time. The seating was done correctly so that everyone could see each other. The party menu was nicely selected, with enough appetizer,salad and main course varieties. and everything tasted so good and was so fresh! Very good service, highly recommend! read more

This is a very pretty restaurant but that is about it. I ordered the beef stew and it was bland and oily. It looked more like a dark green spinach soup and not very appealing. My wife had the lamb kabobs which was tough and lacked flavor. There are many other Mediterranean restaurants that I would rather visit. read more

ordered delivery here while I was on my way home from work. I got stuck in traffic and the delivery person called my phone. She was so sweet and waited for me for 10 minutes until I got there. That is what I call great customer relations. The food was absolutely delicious. their berry rice is amazing and I also got the meat platter which was so, so good. I will definitely be back. Delicious food in a warm setting. We have been to this restaurant several times now and are never disappointed. The food is flavorful, and the portions are generous. First time here... lunch with a friend. Warm pita and tzatziki brought out immediately and delicious eaten while perusing the menu. Never having tried Persian food, we based our choices on the review we had seen in Newsday the previous week. We ordered the Jujeh kebab (lemon & Safran marinated grilled Cornish Hen) and the Kubideh kebabs (seasoned ground beef and lamb). Both lunch specials at $ 12.95. Huge portions and both incredibly delicious. I got the brown lentil soup( included) and friend got salad, also included. Both left with doggie bags enough for another meal. Had no room for dessert but a neighboring table ordered 2 things. We committed on how the Saffron ice cream came out looking like pats of butter. They put some on a plate and passed it to us to try. We are here tonight with 4 friends. All 6 of us loved the food. Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the combo appetizer plate. Which had 3 different appetizers, our choice. We had falafel , babaganoush , spinach pie. Amazing! The Shiraz salad was fresh and as good as any I've ever had. We had the fish combo, salmon and brook trout. Really good. We love cherry rice and got enough to take home for 2 dinners at least. Our waiter Alex couldn't be nicer. All in all it was a great evening. read more

My wife and I tried the restaurant for the first time tonight. It just opened on Monday. There was no wait and we ordered the yogurt sauce and hummus for appetizers. Both were amazing. We ordered the meat combination platter which was definitely more food than two should eat! The meats were tender and juicy and each one was better than the next. The cherry rice was to die for!! I've never had anything like it before. Carlos was our waiter and was great. The owner, Sina, came over a few times and was very helpful. We were both pleasantly surprised as we were expecting a "typical" Greek restaurant. It was more than that, it was an amazing experience of Turkish/Persian food. We will be back. read more

2.5 stars. Mediocre from start to finish. Place was close to empty when we walked in, but waiter took at least 15 minutes to come by. Salad dressing was so bitter that it was inedible. We sat waiting for 20 minutes to get the waiter's attention only to learn that their only alternative was oil and vinegar. Took about an hour until our meals came out. Salmon was low quality and overcooked. Steak was also overcooked and dry. The chicken was very good. The cherry rice was ok. A bit too sweet. Waiter nowhere to be seen the entire meal. Waited forever for our check. Even though we got something wrapped to take home, nobody brought our check so once again, we had to flag a waiter down to ask for it. We had our young kids with us who were bored and kept saying that it wasn't a kid friendly place (nothing to color with, no salad dressing they could eat, ambience). And what's with the room temp water with no ice? In sum, the service couldn't have been slower if they tried and the food was just average. Was glad we had a Groupon. Even then, the meal wasn't worth the cost. Won't be back. read more

The food is amazing, but the service is something to be desired. I assume they haven't worked all the kinks out yet...To start, I wanted to order a sandwich and was told it was ONLY available for take-out, not dine in or delivery which I found odd. Our appetizer came out, but we didn't have any pita and it took 3 people to finally bring some over. During our meal, our server came over to ask how we were doing and we ordered more drinks, which took about 10 minutes to arrive. After finishing, nobody came over to clear our table and ask if we needed anything for another 10-15 minutes. When the bill came, we were charged for refills, and had a $16 drink bill for seltzers and iced teas! I spoke to the manager who explained to me that our server was new and made a mistake-he immediately fixed it but didn't run our cards. Now it took another 10 minutes for that to happen! All in all, the food is well worth it, but I will probably wait until they have been around longer to eat there again. read more

Went to sufiya's grill in merrick with my husband and the food was out of this world!! We started off with the hummus which was excellent and for our main courses we had the addanna kabab and the chiken kabab with the cherry rice which was something like I have never tried before!! food was great and so was the service. our waiter alex was a little bit angry at one point but was a grat waiter, the place was packed so I suggest a reservation but due to their "soft" opening they said they wont be taking any until the "grand" opening. while we eaited we had a seat at the bar and had some cocktail made by the bartender nicky who was absolutely amazing at making drinks and was a very friendly and absolute pleasure to talk to!! The boss sina came over to us a couple times to make sure everything was ok which I found very nice of him to be doing as he did with all of the tables! highly recommend this place! read more
