I've been to SMN a few times since my initial review and the two times since my initial visit there was no skin broken/bleeding, but unfortunately today there was. I have sensitive skin, and skin is drier in the winter, but I've never had the skin broken when I've done waxing. The aesthetician put a salve on it to heal it quicker. I also signed up for a Bikini Extended and it was only a little more than the bikini area. When I told the aesthetician what I was looking for, she removed all the hair in front like I usually have-- I asked her what to request next time and she told me to request a Brazilian. She didn't charge me for the extra hair removal which was very nice. At the waxing center where I usually go a Bikini Full ($47) removes all the hair in front. A Brazilian at SMN is $60, so from a cost perspective, it seems like waxing is also the way for me to go. I don't like to leave less positive reviews but I think it's good for others to know if they're considering sugaring-- I really want to like it but so far it's been very painful and broken my skin 2/4 times. Maybe it's a better experience for people with less sensitive skin! Update: the healing balm seems to have worked as there hasn't been any irritation/pain from the area where the skin broke. It was just very painful in the moment, but there's been no lingering pain, which is good.

A schedule is provided on your website allowing a customer to choose who they would like to service them, to undue that choice is horrible customer service. My first appointment went okay, and they later ran a half-off membership deal, which I joined since members supposedly get a discount on services. There's no front desk, just a doorbell, so I waited about 15 minutes past my scheduled time before anyone came to get me. The wax itself was fine, but the experience wasn't. I showed proof of my text confirmations, but they always brushed it off as a "computer glitch." I use their app, and it constantly tells me I don't have an appointment, even though I get multiple text reminders. The final straw was today. I had an appointment during rush hour, drove a long distance, and arrived early. I rang the doorbell several times with no answer. I tried calling with also no luck. The app again said I had no appointment. After waiting 20 minutes, I gave up and left. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I got a text saying my appointment was canceled because my aesthetician was sick. Why wasn't I notified before my appointment? No email, no text, no courtesy call, nothing. When they finally texted, there was zero apology or empathy, just an attempt to reschedule. To make matters worse, it's nearly impossible to reach a live person or anyone from corporate. There's no working phone number that connects you to customer service. This company is completely unprofessional and disorganized. I'm canceling my membership and will never return. There are plenty of other salons that actually care about their clients.
