It is so awesome to walk into a bakery, smell the awesome yummyness, and me immediately greeted knowing that there is a great big smile behind the masks that we need to wear. That is exactly what you get when you walk into Sugar Bee's Bakery. Sugar Bee's Bakery is conveniently located on the Southwest side of the valley on the southwest corner of Rainbow and Robindale in the Rainbow Shopping Center. It's such a great location, however, it is so easy to miss because it's hidden behind the building that holds Jenni Pho, which is very unfortunate. Parking is great. It wasn't hard to find any open stalls, which I wasn't expecting on a Saturday afternoon in such a busy area. No complaints there. Upon walking in there was one person ahead of me behind helped but the really kind lady behind the counter made sure that she greeted me immediately. It gave me a chance to check out the goodies in the display cases. I could contain my inner excitement and I knew that I was going to leave with much much more than I had came for. The little bakery is also very very well maintained and gives off such a cozy mom and pop bakery feel. I left Sugar Bee's Bakery with more than a dozen macaroons with a variety of flavors to try out, a small loaf of sourdough bread, and a slice of creme brulee cake. They didn't last very long before I devoured ALL OF IT. I lost all sense of self control the minute I opened the box. I have to say, there was absolutely nothing that was short of my expectations. Everything was sooooooo delicious. One thing to keep in mind, which makes me a little sad, is that their business hours are very limited. I asked the lady behind the counter why was that so and she mentioned the reason why and from a business perspective it actually makes a lot of sense and is a great business move. A small local bakery in South Vegas making delicious baked goods. For a Yelp event we were provided a mini sourdough loaf, three assorted macarons and a slice of creme brûlée cake. I ended up ordering an additional three macarons to support the bakery, and what a good decision that was - all items have been delicious so far! I have driven by this bakery numerous amount of times and I have never stopped in. I'm excited I stopped in today because I would still be missing out on this gem if I hadn't!! Upon arrival I noticed that only three people were allowed in the bakery at one time. I did have my two little boys with me but nobody else was inside except the woman behind the counter. The space was small but cozy and the ladie behind the counter was very friendly. They have a lot of different pastries, macaroons, cake slices and fresh bread. I have a thing for sourdough bread so I ordered a loaf before leaving because they look so delicious. The macaroons were delicious I really like the chocolate ganache. And the strawberry chocolate chip cake slice to die for. Of course the sourdough was delicious! It was crispy on the outside and also soft in the inside. I made sure to go online and check out all the things they have to offer. I am always am looking for specialty cakes so I'm glad I checked them out today. The food is good, but the 1 star is for charging $30 for a Thanksgiving pie, and showing a big pie example in the display case with a $30 price in it, then when you order it, and pick it up, it's the same size as the $5 pies at Walmart. Wow, after all these years of passing Sugar Bee's, I finally made it in. Actually I have not set foot inside yet! (I was walking my dog along Rainbow near Windmill, stopped for donuts [see Coco Donuts review] and continued north on Rainbow.) I peeped in thru the glass and admired the displays of fresh baked, hand-crafted greatness! I thought, "Is this crazy to get more carbs and sweets???" Of course not. Seeing that the storefront is compact, I decided to dial the number to ask if I could place a "DOOR-SIDE SERVICE" order because I was outside with my dog. Brittany answered and obliged. She kindly answered my questions, made suggestions and packed up the goodies. She came out with Bryna (I hope I spelled this correctly) to complete the transaction, which included a quick photoshoot with my dog! Oh wow! Everything = delicious! Favorites, to be on repeat: Sourdough Loaf (machine sliced on request) and any of the croissants. I got three Croissants (Classic; Ham & Cheese and house-made Cranberry Chutney, Brie and Sage. Please note there is a rotating Croissant of the Week that changes every week. B&B told me to check Instagram every Wednesday afternoon for the reveal. Surprise favorite is the STRAWBERRY LIME PASSIONFRUIT CAKE. I am not a cake person and this one blew me away, I couldn't stop eating it! Four layers of moist yet sturdy vanilla cake with three separate fruity layers: Strawberry Mousse, Lime Curd and Passion Fruit Mousse. Each of these flavors came through distinctly and with bright tangy contrast to the cake and outer Italian buttercream. I decided that my family's next Birthday / Celebration Cake will be this Strawberry Lime Passionfruit Cake! This place is a hidden treasure. I have lived across this place for a total of almost 8 years. I have no clue when they first opened but I can say they have been here for as long as I can remember. The sad part is that I have never been here until just two weeks ago. I have been missing out! Forewarning: if you are on a strict diet, DO NOT come here because you will have no will power. Enjoyed my first Elite experience at Sugar Bee's, as it was my Birthday too! Though it was a pretty long trip across town, it was totally worth it. Starting with the girl at the front counter. She was delightful..As I introduced myself from the Elite squad, she proceeded to ask me which flavor cake slice I'd prefer? And I chose their signature Creme Brulee, it's my favorite flavor ever! Loved their sample box choices, the 3 macaroons were all very tasty with a combination of crispy, delicate, soft & moist, and with a delicately creamy center, as I had never tried them before, now I'm hooked? All 3 were delicious. The Cherry Vanilla was amazingly true to it's flavors. The Salted Caramel was so good as well and their Guava Lime was swirled at the top & was also on spot in every way! The cake slice was classy, filled with a creamy creme brulee and a dark caramel throughout as it was also made in a chocolate marble style, topped with tiny gold & white beads that pleasantly explode in your mouth. Wow, I can just imagine a Wedding cake with this scrumptious and delicate filling? The mini Sourdough bread loaf is Artisanal, rustic and very well made! As you can tell by my photo, I had to eat the Cake slice, which was delectable, by the way and the macaroons before I left, as it was too hot to transport them across town? Ok Ok, I am a few minutes late on the review here, I am truly sorry. Boooo me! Alright, here I go! OK so, I was lucky enough to get picked for the Elite event held at Sugar Bee's Bakery on July 23rd!!! My experience there was amazing from the start. I walked in and could smell the deliciousness, which set the mood just right. I spoke with two ladies behind the counter who were super friendly and welcoming. I told them I was there for the Yelp event and they signed me in for my little goodie bag. The ladies asked me which cake I would want to go with me other treats, and I picked the Creme Brûlée. Once I received my bag full of goodies, they were amazing with saying goodbye to me. Here comes the best part..... It was pretty close to my house so I got home quick! Couldn't freaking wait to devour what my wife would allow me before dinner time lol. I opened up the box and read that I was given 3 macaroons which were flavored; Salted Carmel, Peach and Chocolate Ganache. I was able to eat one macaroon before dinner and I started with the Peach. Gotta be honest, I am not a huge fan of Peach, BUT it was AMAZING. A lot of macaroons I have had in the past are always too hard to bite into and just seem, stale? This macaroon was lightly crisp on the outside and once the teeth get past that initial break in the shell, its like soft heaven! Again, I don't like peach flavoring but this was still off the charts! I eventually came around to eating the Salted Carmel and Chocolate Ganache macaroons. I even ate these the following day after being in the fridge, still out of the this world delicious! Great job, seriously!! I'm going to say it was a "splurge" day for me since I ate the cake the came day as the other two macaroons.. Don't judge me!! Lol. I got to devious my "Creme Brûlée" cake. HOLY FREAKING MOLY was it incredible!!!! Taste just like a fancy Creme Brûlée dessert from a restaurant, unreal. Well done, well done Sugar Bee's Bakery! Sugar Bee's is right around the corner from me, in a SW plaza! I can't believe I hadn't come here before; it's a small shop in between other businesses, but you're greeted right away with all the pastries they have on display. They had croissant options, some danish cakes, macarons, etc! Danni (hopefully that's how you spell her name!) helped me today and was so friendly! I came in for the Yelp experience, but wanted to buy a few extra macarons which was the tiramisu & creme brûlée! I got the mini sourdough bread, a slice of their creme brûlée cake, and their macarons! Right when I got home, I took a bite of the cake and it was still so moist and not to sweet at all, which was great because I usually don't like too sweet of a cake. The frosting/filling was unbelievably so good. Their macarons as well were soft and flavorful. I'm definitely going back once I run out of these macarons, and to see what other flavor cakes they have to offer! I have really mixed feelings about Sugar Bee's. The macarons were absolutely not A-OK. They were very crumbly and could hardly be picked up without crumbling. I also found them chewy rather than soft and melt in your mouth flavor that I'm used to. There are several bakeries that have more flavor options and better macaron product. The garlic knots I got were good but there's nothing special about them. The cinnamon vanilla bread pudding was quite good. On the other hand, the carrot cake was a lot of icing with little cake. It was OK because the icing was not really sweet but rather had the very good flavor of cream cheese icing. I was also surprised by the lack of product. Many bakeries I go to have much more choice than was available here at about 1 PM which I don't consider that late. If partial stars were allowed this would be a 2.5 star place. I rounded to three. The bakery is not in my neighborhood so I'll be missing nothing by going elsewhere. read more

So this place isn't cheap but only because the desserts are delicious! I came in looking for a little something sweet to gift to an old friend over lunch and while I was looking through the deli cases (2) I tried a sample of the raspberry almond tart. MMMMmmmM SO good. So I got a couple of those at $2.75 each (they offer raspberry and blueberry I think) and some macaroons. They make them in-house. There was a small selection of other bakery items: baguettes, rosemary bread knots, croissants, creme brulee, small cakes ( i think most ppl order custom), tarts, and such. side note: just because a restaurant or bakery is showing desserts in a case does NOT mean that they made them, plenty of places sell prepackaged/frozen items so I make it a point to always ask. because why would I pay $1.35 for a teeny macaroon if they just bought them bulk from some giant food conglomerate. the 2 ladies (1 was training the other) are obviously bakers first and business/customer service people second. happy and sweet, but resulting in awkward convo/situation. i requested the trainee to put everything in their small box for my order and the trainer kept trying to separate items into 2 boxes, then the trainee tucked in the flaps of the box and the trainer told her not to bc it would squish the macaroons, I said "its ok I want it tucked", and the trainer keep wanting her way. i just wanted to get out of there on time and said whatever the trainer wanted was fine. (3 min is a long time when you're watching other people debate things about you) i then asked if they took AmEx and she replied no they don't while nodding lol. o well, they can only improve on teamwork with time, i walked out happy :) - they're also pushing their new organic coffees. but def get an almond tart with it :) read more

If you want to find REAL bread, this is the place. Sadly they open to the public Friday's and Saturday's from 7am to 5pm ONLY. They have a nice selection of breads, pastries such as macaron (guava lime, vanilla bean and passion fruits are my favorite flavors), blueberry almond mini muffin. I come every Fridays to buy some Italian loaf and ciabatta sandwich bread. I noticed their brand Sugar Bee while shopping for groceries in "Eastern European stores in town". Heads up: This place has adopted summer hours and is currently only open Fridays and Saturdays, contrary to Yelp listing. Thankfully I came on a Friday, because they're out of the way for me. Purchased and used a Yelp deal, $5 for $10- scooped up two different savory scones, a giant chocolate chip cookie, and one of each of their macarons in stock for the day. Butterscotch was the favorite, per the friendly lady who helped me, and I got two of those. Downside to Vegas heat: by the time I got home, my macaron fillings were melted! I was a little put off at first, because the store already had three customers waiting, and there was a sign on the door stating "No more than three customers at a time, everyone must wear a mask." So, I waited until I could go inside, and although fully vaccinated, I wore my mask when I was inside. Although it was busy, there was only one employee helping out customers. The food is excellent! Their sourdough bread is fresh and nearly perfect. The macaroons are some of the best I've ever had. The Nutella layer cake was light and exquisite! I just wish they had more room inside for customers, or a place to sit down outside to wait. I'm not a huge chocolate fan. I spent $30 on all of these cookies and enjoyed every bite. The macarons were perfect size and came in a wide variety of flavors. Now I loved and cherished every last one of them but the stand out flavors were black cherry vanilla, creme brûlée, salted caramel, and guava lime. Went to this bakery specifically for the Macarons. They did not disappoint. My favorite one is the chocolate ganache and the strawberry. Both so delicious! While we were there we also tried the red pepper feta croissant and the sourdough bread loaf. The croissant was perfectly flakey and buttery and savory. Nice to offset the macarons. 2.5 stars. I recently tried Sugar Bee's Bakery and honestly wasn't impressed. First off their hours are limited, only being open 2 days a week for most of the year. I like a mom and pop bakery that I can go to most days of the week as I feel most people probably do, so that's a bummer. The sign says they do take appointments during the 5 days a week they are closed. Banana Butterscotch Pie ($18) - The pie was good, but certainly not amazing and certainly basic enough for anyone to make themselves at home. It's not hard to make pudding, cut up bananas and toss them in a graham cracker crust to set. At $18 I was expecting a bit more. I'd have also liked a bit more bananas vs pudding it was mostly a pudding pie. Whipped cream was piped on the top and torched which gave a nice look. Can't say I'm eager to return, but some of the croissants in pictures posted to this listing look really good, so it's possible I'd give them a try in the future for smaller pastry items rather than full pies. It's a bakery that's run like a bakery- go early if you want the best picks of everything. But they do a good job of keeping most items stocked throughout the day. My favorite items are the scones- but everything I've had is way better than anything I could get at area grocery stores. Yes, they're more expensive but the quality makes it worth it. I've been coming here for the last 6 months after moving to Vegas. Staff is always friendly. I love the sourdough loaf sliced. I come here every week for it. I know carbs are bad, but I can't pass up the sourdough. Every time I come here, I usually see the same person managing the front counter and finally got her name, Brenna. I hope I spelled it right. She always help me and there were times I called in to have the sourdough loaf reserved for me because I didn't want to arrive and it's all gone. I get the sourdough loaf every week. My daughter loves the macaroons. She knows how to run my wallet dry, j/k. Only thing I would say is sometimes the macaroons are made pretty smaller. Some are big and some are small, but they are yummy. Lol. Keep in mind they only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Flavors that my daughter likes for macaroons are strawberry, pumpkin spice, CookieNCream, black cherry vanilla, passion fruit, birthday cake, and Nutella.
