Called in and asked if they could get me in, about 15 minutes later I was there. They got me right in, no wait! I had some pictures of nails I really liked. Annie took me back I showed her the photos and she went to work. I've been trying to grow my nails long so I was originally thinking of having acrylic overlays and a polish. Once I told her I was growing my nails she said she thought the gels would be better for my nails with less filing and it was less expensive. I really appreciated her knowledge because she could've easily let me get the acrylics and pay more. The end result was beautiful! She did a fabulous job and was so nice and personable. I'll definitely be back! I would recommend this place to anyone. I'm updating my review. The nails that Annie did lasted so well! So I went back again. I had a very nice experience here. I'm one of those people who actually never splurge and visit nail salons (I usually do my own nails at home) but decided to treat myself. So I can't compare my review to other salons, but nevertheless I like this place. It's decorated very nice and cozy. The spa chair experience was ok, very quick and my pedicure turned out nice, and I opted for the gel manicure which came out beautifully. The staff is very friendly and nice. I was immediately offered a beverage choice of a bottle of water or a can of coke (not to complain about little things but I was surprised they didn't refrigerate their soda cans, it was served to me at room temperature which wasn't too appetizing). I was there about 90 minutes start to finish and the cost of the regular polish pedi and gel mani cost $39 (before tip) which is a price that they are running on special right now since they are a new business and discounting their services 20% off per the sign in the window. They will be offering these reduced prices until the end of March (but may extend it or run new specials at that time per the owner's discretion). I have been coming here for the last 3.5 years and usually worked with Ron who was great. Because he was able to do a good job, I ignored the incredibly rude and unprofessional older man in the front and the rest of the staff who was usually unpleasant. A few months ago, I came to get a french gel manicure and I'm not quite sure what was off with Ron that day but it took him about 7-8 attempts to keep trying to get the white tip straight. At some point, he just didn't care anymore and when I looked down, I had white all around the edges and beneath the nail. I asked him to remove it as it looked like a 5 year old did my nails in the car and he didn't really make an effort to fix it. At this point (I had now been sitting there for 1.5 hours), I just said forget it and paid at the front. I of course didn't give my usual tip as why would why, the service and quality was bad and I'm surprised I was even asked to pay in the first place for this considering I come several times a month. A month later when I decided to return and called to make an appointment, the man at the front said that Ron wasn't there, I asked for Annie, was told she was also not there, asked for Kristy...also not there. Since he didn't offer anyone else or a different day, I got the sense they did not want me to return. I just called again today after another month break, hoping something was off last time, but got exactly the same story. When I asked if they just didn't want me to return as customer, the man said my name to someone in the salon and hung up. I'm really shocked that after 3.5 years of coming here, just because I was unhappy with 1 time and didn't tip, they would treat me this way. I've chosen to ignore their unprofessional practices (like when the front desk man called me 1 week after an appt. to ask to charge me the $5 they forgot to add on for french tip - really, you couldn't just let it go considering the thousands of dollars I have collectively spent over the years?) or when he calls to ask if I can come in 10 minutes earlier to an appt. 15 minutes before the time but who wants to come to a place like this? Reading through some of the recent reviews, it sounds like I'm not the only one. The actual service was ok but aside from a bit of attitude, watch out when you get the bill, they add on fees for ex if after they put the 1st coat of polish on and it seems too dark or light and you ask for the 2nd coat to be a different color or if you want to have different colors (not designs) on your nails. They do not mention it to you, but will bill you without having communicated this. Also one is not actually using more than a standard amount of polish (2 coats). Never seen that before. read more

Unprofessional and unfriendly! I called to make an appointment and the woman said, "You can come in now." I got there and every single seat was taken and there were 3 people waiting. When I finally sat down for the pedicure, the man doing it was barely put in work. I asked if color was included and somehow he thought I was asking for callas removal, which is $10 more, and I didn't need it done. There was another woman who came over to help with my color, and she was bouncing between me and 2 other ladies. Then, when he was doing my color, he turned my white polish pink. The clear top coat had been used on top of red polish before. I had to redo my color when I got home. What usually takes about 30 minutes at other salons, took 2 hours. This place does a good job on the actual nails. They have always been able to deliver what I asked for, takes them a while I'm usually there for almost 2 hours to do a fill/ acrylic/ 3D or art. BUT they are extremely over priced!! I can go to many other salons for the same job & faster but half the price. They don't tell you how much they will charge until AFTER then finish, then they argue with you as to why it cost so much. This was my first and last visit to sugar nails. I went on my lunch hour and I was so grateful that they were able to get me in and out in less than an hour. When I got home, I had to file my nails because the gentleman man who did my nails didn't really shape them, which isn't the biggest issue as it was only a manicure. The part I can't get past is the polish job. Every single one of my nails are missing polish in one spot or another and the edges are not clean. Fast and friendly and my gel manicures last three weeks! My gel pedis still look good after 6 weeks! I've been to the fancy salons that charge a lot more like Bellacures. I much prefer Sugar Nails -- a nice, modest neighborhood salon with friendly technicians, comfy massage chairs and a very accommodating front desk. They do excellent work here, in a friendly, casual environment. The gentleman usually working the front desk has a great sense of humor and a lovely smile. He doesn't speak English all that well but it's part of his charm. One day I noticed he forgot to charge me $5 for a foot scrub and I was trying to tell him and he was diligently explaining to me why he was right and I said "But I owe you more money!" Then he started to laugh and gave me a hug and said "good person." How can you not fall for that kind of charm?? :) All the nail technicians have been great. Annie and Christine are standouts for me. I'm very fussy with my gel french manicures and Christine does them perfectly and they last WEEKS. Annie has given me both gel manis and gel pedis and they've been fantastic. Truly, all of the technicians are very skilled and really lovely people. Parking is easy -- both on the street and in the back lot (free). Remember to bring CASH for the TIP. read more

I expected to pay more- got a gel mani and reg pedi for $40 ($25 for gels and pedi on sale for $15). Editing review for my latest experience. I requested the matte black/black color in the first picture, with the tips shaped as in the second picture, but what I got was the third picture. This "design" cost me $10 (she didn't charge me the $2 for the matte-probably because she could tell I was disappointed). I've been overlooking things that bother me about this place, because they're close and convenient but I think I'm done here. They give you a hard time for using cards. It is heartbreaking to rate this place low, but it was the most painful experience I had to go thru at a salon. I made an appointment the day before - the guy who spoke the least English didn't take my name or phone number down correctly because he didn't understand. He also got my request for gel wrong and thought it was a basic mani/pedi. I called the salon to let him know I was a few minutes behind, and I was sat at a table to wait for a manicure for 20 mins before I suggested for them to do my pedicure first since there was a chair available. All seats and tables were full at 2pm on a Sunday. The girl who did my toes didn't understand I wanted gel everything, so after she finished, I realized she didn't get the memo since I wanted the same color to be used for my gel manicure. Ok...fine. I asked what the pricing was for designs like I saw on their Instagram. The lady couldn't give me a solid answer at first. I wanted one gold foil line across the nail. $15 extra for 10 nails. I wanted a thicker line, but since they only had one type of foil, I suggested doing two lines right beside each other. She said that would be an additional $20. I asked about two foul lines in geometric designs like an X on the nail [referenced their Instagram again]. Additional $30. I didn't realize only one girl does designs and you need to request her in advance. The lady I go tried to convince me a couple of times that I didn't need designs with such a pretty color. I laughed - I know what I want! She did the nails as I requested after complaining about it - there is some rippling of clear gel coating on the sides where the foil ends on each nail and a little nick in the top coat on my left thumb due to her rushing. I also had to ask for my chair to be turned in when I saw the girls next to me with vibrating massages. When it stopped mid-way, there was no time to turn t back on, and they did not give me the remote like other customers had control. They did their best. They were nice, but I think I'll be trying out other salons before ever coming back to this one. read more

My technician was very patient with my color requests. I informed him of my previous concerns regarding ridges and breakage I experienced at a different salon. He made sure to meet all my needs. His filing was so gentle as he shaped the perfect coffin nails. I didn't have to change or correct any of his filing. He was very delicate as my nails are all long and natural. I had many cracks that he repaired using acrylic powder or silk overlay. Only afterwards did he inform me of the additional charges. But I am very happy it was much needed. I wanted a half moon and he was very detailed viewing each individual nail from every angle. He definitely took his time and was a perfectionist. (Super important) Every layer of gel he was absolutely meticulous. My rose gold chrome turned out perfect. I wanted a black glitter which they did not carry. He instead used black gel then silver glitter on top which I feel turned out great! Although i felt a bit of urgency as my friend was waiting. He still took the time to finish off the edges with a quick file clean up and cuticle oil. His arm and hand massage was very strong I enjoyed it. Bad Service, overcharges you at the end...The lady told me that it was $32 to give me a pedicure on the phone. I made an appointment with them. I arrived and said I'm here for my pedicure and I picked out the color. The receptionist was nice but the nail technician was NOT Nice. She was very cold and rude. Barely said any words. The tub was not filled to the middle of my calves. The lady cut two of my toes and I didn't say anything to her. I understand mistakes happen. When we were all done she didn't tell me we were done. My feet was on top of the towel on the foot rest and started pulling the towel off with my feet still on it. Why can't she say you are all done. Do you need help putting your shoes on? Then take the towel and clean up after I leave the chair. I went to go pay they told me my total was $55. Beware of being overcharged for bad service and greediness. I did not give in and said I will only pay $32. Paid the $32 and left. Do not go back. Be prepared to get overcharged. read more

I had to wait for an HOUR to be seen (which is absurd) and I noticed they attended to people who had later appts before me, which was really aggravating. They finally sat me at a station and I waited for 15 minutes - none of the employees acknowledged me. Finally, when I was seen, I expressed my frustration to my nail tech, she didn't seem to give a shit and didn't apologize. Instead she cleaned my cuticles, then disappeared for 5-10 min. I asked one of the other employees where she went and he said that she had gone to do a service for another customer in the back. I was threatening to leave and then she came back and rushed through my nail work, didn't talk to me the whole time. All we got was a gel manicure and acrylics. No pedi or anything special but for some reason, we were there for more than 2 hours. My sister's acrylics took more than an hour and a half to do! Wtf. Shit customer service. They're either rushing you to choose a color and send you out the door rudely or they take their sweet ass time and make you wait forever past your scheduled appointment.
