I have loved every experience here (which is odd to say when discussing hair removal). Angela has been wonderful to work with. She's always efficient yet thorough. I tried sugaring for the first time, though this was the second time I got a brazilian. My first time was at Lavande in Santana Row. The first experience was so horrible I've been too afraid to get another waxing job until now... six years later. My friend told me about sugaring because she said it doesn't hurt as much and it's with all natural products. I must say, I'm glad I found this place. It still hurt (a lot!), but I think it was largely in part because it's been 6 years since my skin has been ripped off. Ouch! The staff was really nice and professional. I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and Qui made me feel very comfortable during the whole process. It's a very simple, no-hassle, no fluff, kind of place, but still very modern and trendy. It's clean, which is a must for a spa. I will muster up the courage to come back because I'm told it hurts less and less, so I'll test it out. read more

I am very content with the sugaring done on my legs! I've gotten waxed once before and it was not a very pleasant experience; due to my sensitive skin, I ended up bleeding a little. I had forgotten to take ibuprofen prior to my appointment, so it was a little painful at first, but bearable. After a couple of minutes, I guess my body became accustomed to the sugaring because it no longer hurt. The place itself looks very neat, sleek, and modern. I was greeted by a gentleman in the lobby who seemed pretty friendly. He offered my mom (who was not receiving treatment but accompanied me) and me water and/or tea. The restroom was well-kept and very tidy. The room where the sugaring was done was also spotless. I am very impressed by the cleanliness and the sanitation measures taken here! (side note: they use gloves and change them for each part of the procedure so as to get the best results!) Jessica was the person who completed my sugaring. She was so friendly and warm. We chatted the entire time, and she made me feel so comfortable! I know my treatment was to remove the hair on my legs, but I was still a bit embarrassed at how hairy I was -- I didn't shave for a month in order to partake in "No Shave November." I wore leggings and a skirt; she left the room while I removed my leggings and I was allowed to keep my skirt on. Jessica first moisturized my legs with some sort of oil or lotion (not quite sure what it was because I was laying down on the table); then she put powder on them. Next, she took what looked like yellow "silly putty" and massaged it in her hands and used that to remove the hair. I really didn't know much about sugaring before my visit, so I thought Jessica was using a fabric to pull the hair (just like in waxing). I like that sugaring is not as wasteful as waxing! When my treatment was complete, she checked my legs again (she wore magnifying spectacles the entire time), and asked if it was okay if she plucked a few strays. The plucking was painless and there were only about five pieces of extra hair! Jessica was so meticulous and made sure I was content with the results. She rubbed oil on my legs and thanked me and exited the room to allow me to put on my leggings. When I stepped out, she thanked me again and handed me a glass of water. My legs were a bit tender afterwards, but that didn't last too long. I am excited to return since shaving is such a pain to do! I will be recommending friends to this place! read more

Such a wonderful experience! If you're still waxing, just stop and never do it again. Sugaring is so much better for your skin and if you have low pain tolerance like me, it is generally a way better experience. I was so happy to find Sugar Spa - all of the positive reviews led me there, and I was not at all disappointed. Jessica was quick and professional, and the salon is really cute and clean. Their prices are also SO fair. I've used other sugaring salons in the LA area that charged $80+ for a Brazilian. The Sugar Spa experience is so worth the $65! I've been an on and off Brazilian waxer, but when I was offered a chance to try sugaring, I thought to myself.... why not? It doesn't hurt as much as waxing, but there is still a little bit of discomfort. Let's be honest here.... there's no way this can't hurt, but why not minimize the pain that we endure??? It's quick, it's easy, but the best thing about this is... THE RESULTS. The results are amazing. The hair grows back very thin & a lot slower than when i was waxing, and at the end there isn't weird trails of wax that stick to my clothes. With that being said... the sugaring that they offer here is awesome. The service is great! Everyone that works here is friendly & knowledgeable. They are more than happy to help & do such a great job making you feel comfortable and relaxed. The actual spa itself is worth it (in my opinion). I love the modern rustic feel that this place gives off. It doesn't feel like you are going into a spa. Then there's the music, it's not your typical babbling creeks with the occasional flute medley's of my heart will go on. Wow!!! I've been to a lot of sugaring locations(in SF, Seattle, London) and this one literally has the best ambiance and makes me feel suuuuper comfortable. When I moved to the bay area for school last year I was looking for a place that had sugaring rather than waxing because that's what I had been doing back home. Although still painful, it is definitely less so than waxing and decreases substantially with time; my skin is healthier and I have seen a vast reduction of hair growth in that area. I found Lavender Beauty Spa and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I have now been going to Jessica for a while and she is absolutely fantastic; she is professional, precise, thorough, and always welcoming, as is the rest of the staff. When Lavender Beauty Spa in Fremont moved to this location I of course followed them. The new location is beautiful, modern, and chic, and the staff remains as warm and friendly as always. I want to go sugaring, and got with Mia. Even though she is a slow, she is a really fast learner. My legs are very smooth and no bumps at all. Jessica is my mom, and Mia learns much from her. Mia gets better everyday and will be as pro as my mom sooner or later. I stopped by here for a lunch time facial which is awesome that they offer this since there are many companies nearby, mine included. I scheduled my appointment online which was very convenient and received a reminder phone call 2 days before. I was running a little late due to Castro being packed during lunchtime and front staff was super nice when I got there. Qui was amazing, friendly and warm during my facial. I felt relaxed immediately and definitely could use this in the middle of a stressful day. I skipped doing the extractions this time just because it's a little painful although I know its better for you since they remove the blackheads and cover up the pores, but it's something I can do next time. Qui also fixed my makeup at the end since she had to wipe it off for the facial which was really nice of her to help me reapply eyeshadow. Next time i should also try the sugaring since that is what they are known for! read more

From scheduling to paying and leaving, the entire experience was a breeze. I scheduled an appointment with Jessica. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by their front desk Kylie. Because I was the last appointment of the day, Jessica was able to take me back immediately. The procedure was relatively painless. I appreciated her attention to detail as she tweezed any strays after the initial wax. My only suggestion would be that she talk her first time clients through the procedure. Prior to waxing, she turned on a hair trimmer and pressed it gently against my skin. I freaked out and tensed up because I thought it was an epilator. She then kindly explained what it actually was. *phew* I have had sugar waxing done before and prior services did not include a hair trim. At any rate, she did an amazing job-- probably the best bikini wax I have ever had. I will definitely be going back! read more

When it comes to hair removal, I have tried just about everything. Sugaring is the best by far. The hair is removed in the same way your hair grows and with natural materials such as honey and sugar that arent anywhere near as messy or irritating as wax. Sugar Spa is definitely one of the best, though it is on the more pricey side I would say it is definitely worth it. The ambiance is clean and cozy. The people who work there are very professional and friendly. Ever since I discovered it a couple of months ago I can't stop going back!! The hair doesn't grow back as fast and I get less ingrown hairs! -- which I am prone to. I have always gone to Jessica to get my sugaring done and she is awesome!! She always makes an effort to work around my busy schedule and is the sweetest ever. She is one of those people that goes the extra above and beyond mile just because. She is so nice, not to mention she is great at her job! She makes sure that every hair is removed every time and also that I am comfortable.
