I had received my cupcake and when I had taken a bite it tasted a bitter, I had assumed maybe it was my hands even though they were washed . I took a second bite and the cupcake tasted great but on the third it was super bitter yet again . I felt like I was going insane and I had my boyfriend try this and it was also super bitter like almost chemically taste but not quite. I can't believe I haven't rated SugarBears yet. I order from them at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. My absolute favorite thing they make is their chocolate salted caramel cupcake, it's truly the best chocolate cake ever and I'm not really even a chocolate person. A close runner up is the vanilla bean cupcake. I also love their Bear Paws, which are chocolate chip cookies sandwiching peanut butter frosting and ganache. Especially if you heat it for a little bit and the cookies are all soft and the ganache is kind of melty, they are so good. The cinnamon crumb cupcake is also delicious, like coffee cake with a lil frosting. (If there's anything I don't just love: the brownie topped with chocolate is a little too sweet for me but topped with peanut butter it's better. The strawberry and birthday cupcakes taste a little artificial to me, maybe it's the dye or sprinkles I'm tasting? But everything else is STELLAR.) read more

Really disappointed. Ive been doing well cutting out sweets but I caved today for a cheat. I moved here recently and my old city had a cupcake bakery that i miss dearly. I was excited to try this and see if it fills that gap. Got cupcakes smores, red velvet, choc decadence, and carrot cake. I was sad to see it was just a doordash ghost kitchen setup but not an actual bakey, I almost drove away but reviews were so good I continued. The cupcakes were nearly frozen. So cold that the icing was rock hard. The rest of them are sat on the counter post 2 hrs and still icing is rock hard. Smores was the only pretty one, but not much flavor outsude of chocolate base and rock hard chocolate frosting... and creme filling inside was nonexistant. Toasted mallow on top was fun. Chocolate decadence looks nothing like the picture on the menu or I see on yelp. They just gave me a plain choc cupcake with hard choc frosting on top. Red velvet was best but was not great. was moist but not a ton of flavor. The cupcake was really tall so hard to eat and frosting to cake ratio a little dry. I struggle to say its fresh when they seemed nearly frozen. I should have listened to my gut and spun around when i saw the ghost kitchen. Now i cant do another sweet until my bday in a couple weeks and I feel cheated as hell. The cupcakes themselves are like 2.5-3stars. But with the cost of 5 dollars each each theres nooooo way. I was really excited to devour them because I LOOOOOOOOOOVE cupcakes! But as soon as I took a bite, I was very disappointed. The cupcakes were cold and stale, which meant they came out of a fridge, which means they were not fresh. I've never purchased cupcakes that were given to me cold, and I've been to a TON of cupcakeries. The cake is moist and not too sweet, and the icing's sweetness appropriate compliments the cake flavor. I saw someone complained about the cupcakes being cold, but because my favorite icings are cream cheese and butter cream, I'd be alarmed if the cupcakes weren't chilled. So this isn't a normal restaurant/cafe. It's a food hub. This place offers a vast variety of vendors for food to go. When you walk into the lobby there are iPads set up for ordering to go or grub hub/Uber eats/doors dash pick ups. The lobby is incredibly small. 2-4 people max in this tiny ordering area. There are no cashiers, servers, or tables. There are only 2 iPads available for ordering. You go to the tablets then place your order. The tablets offer the menus of all the vendors/restaurants selling food at the Hub location. When your order is ready.. somebody will call your name. Parking is only available on the street. There is no parking Lot at the hub. So we ordered sugar bears cupcakes. This was our 1st time trying these desserts. Now the wait was long for just cupcakes. Also the cupcakes are extremely overpriced. Each cupcake was $4.25. And these were average sized cupcakes.. not gigantic. With that being said... the cupcakes are delicious!!! We ordered the cheesecake cupcake, German chocolate, red velvet and brown sugar cupcakes. These cupcakes are extremely moist, not overly sweet, rich and buttery. So good. Just overpriced. Red velvet is and has always been my favorite. That being said I stopped ordering red velvet every time I saw it on a menu because it was NOT true red velvet.
