    Sea bass

Went there for a special occasion there to celebrate my brother's bday. Seemed everyone BUT the server was aware of that. We ordered oysters, roasted beet and chèvre pans cotta salad, sea bass, verlasso salmon and rack of lamb. The oysters were fine with a nice accompaniments to add to their flavor. Sadly when they brought out the main courses, we discovered he did not place the salad order, which was disappointing. The two fish entrees were good. The rack of lamb was also tasty with the exception of the excess butter Nothing special was done at dessert to help us celebrate the birthday boy. Disappointing! Wine and cocktail selection was good Noise level was moderate Overall a nice dinner and I probably would give this restaurant a second try. If I am looking for a spot for a special occasion, I'd have second thoughts.

We just had our second visit to Sugarbeet because we were so impressed the first time, we invited friends along for the next round. We got bread that is some of the best bread I've ever eaten and I had my first experience eating oysters (which in CO eating seafood is just a bit nerve wracking) but I was most pleasantly surprised and I would eat them again!! They also went well with my drink the Pear Martini. I ordered the rack of lamb - superb! It was amazing! Melts in your mouth and is savory and just a celebration of flavor! My husband got the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked (medium rare) and an ample portion. The accompaniments were earthy and good. The service is some of the best you will find in the metro area - super friendly and spot on! This restaurant is a hidden gem, a treasure and a bit of a surprise. Don't miss this wonderful dining experience.

I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. Loved the ambiance. Its very cozy and dim light setting makes it a great date night spot. Sizzling shrimp was a great appetizer. Love the paprika infused oil. Generous portions and decent size shrimp. I do wish they'd remove the tail though. The Roasted Pappardelle was delicious. It was fried nicely (crispy outside, soft inside) and the roasted zucchini was a nice touch. The rack of lamb unfortunately was a disappointment. Ordered medium rare and came out rare. It was super chewy. The waitress did send it back to bring it closer to medium rare, but I think it was just microwaved (plate came back hot). Appreciate the thought though. For 45$ I expected the rack of lamb to be better. Primarily the reason why i give it a 3.5 stars. Lastly we did get the Chocolate Truffle cake. That was not too sweet and the cake was the right amount of richness for me. Nice end to the meal.

Great food in a nice atmosphere. And locals must know about it, because the restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, lucky I had a reservation. My friends and I all loved our food, and we had a very pleasant dinner!

Apple tart for dessert. So good.

This place came recommended and I'm passing this recommendation on. We shared the beet salad with goat panna cotta and New England clam chowder. The salad was excellent and I could have eaten a bowl of the beets. Chowder had good texture but there was a heat kick to it which I wasn't a fan of. Dinner for me was tuna seared perfectly with green beans and rice. The rice had kimchi in it which again wasn't a fan of that. Husband had the pork special with butternut squash and it was excellent. Dessert was a deconstructed apple tart and was excellent. Service was impeccable Highly recommend if you are looking for a great dining experience Not a large seating capacity so recommend a reservation. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our table was in the front of the restaurant which didn't have as many people. Would like to try the back seating area next. Our wait staff was excellent t. Attentive but not intrusive.

Sugarbeet is our go-to restaurant for special occasions or entertaining out of town guests. The waitstaff are THE BEST. When was the last time you went to a restaurant where they knew how to appropriately time courses without having dishes come out at random times or all at once? Or actually bring new silver wear between courses instead of "ohh do you mind holding onto your (used) fork"? At Sugarbeet, none of that would ever happen. They're fantastic. The food is also amazing. They don't have an extensive menu because everything is super fresh. They occasionally switch up the offerings. For holidays, you can make a reservation for one of their special prix fix menus - ALWAYS a treat. Their cocktails and dessert are great too, although I rarely have room for dessert! The atmosphere is refined, but also comfortable so you don't feel out of place whether you're wearing business casual or jeans. Make a reservation or go early as they do fill up!

Food is overpriced. Some dishes, like a recent risotto. Were sub-par. Service is good, ambiance ok.

And the "Rain Forest Cafe"-style thunder storms in the background are a bizarre touch. The guy working behind the bar was friendly, but it's so awkward going in there when it's empty (and I've been twice now after work and on a weekend when there wasn't anyone inside). Unfortunately, the drinks don't salvage the experience. The wine was terrible. I don't drink beer, but I haven't heard the best things about that either. I would recommend going to Johnson's Station nearby instead for much better drinks, food, and atmosphere.

The selection of beer and wine was very limited and poor quality. Only rose wine and weirdly flavored local craft beers with a tiny selection of canned beer. Nothing tasty or worth drinking more than one of.... It was over priced too for the quality. I ended up leaving my card when I left. I tried on 4 different occasions to stop by and pick it up during business hours, but each time they happened to be closed for private events and no one was there to answer the door or phone. Also, they double charged me for my experience. They charged me day of, and then a week later they charged me again. After multiple attempts to pick my card up and playing phone tag, they apparently mailed it to me, but I never received my card. After I notified them they double charged me, they have not returned my phone calls. Two months later, I still do not have my credit card, there remains a double charge on my account, and they still do not answer the phone during business hours nor call me back to verify where they mailed my card and that they will remove the double charges. I highly recommend "Axe Me Out" in Longmont for good axe throwing experiences. Steer clear of this place!!

The bar almost resembles something you might find in a small European hotel, which may suggest they are aiming for a slightly upscale tone, though it never feels pretentious. The seating is varied, with small tables and retro chairs that seem intentionally chosen rather than bought in bulk. The spacing is better than most coffee shops, which makes it easy to settle in without feeling crowded. The back area opens up even more, and the soft drapery adds a touch of personality that appears to hint at events or just a bit of flair. The staff continues to be the standout for me. Everyone I spoke with was kind in a way that felt natural, and they knew the menu well enough to help me navigate dairy free options. I usually order the avocado toast on focaccia because it is consistently fresh. The bread looks oversized at first but is airy and soft, and the avocado and radish topping feels simple in the best way. The matcha made with water has also become a go to since it tastes smooth and well-bodied without that chalky, thin finish some places have. My partner and I visited during their Dia de Los Muertos weekend and tried a few themed items. Everything was good, and they were quick to suggest dairy free choices. Prices seem fair, even with the general bump everywhere lately. The only thing I wish they had more of is outlets. It is still a nice place to work for a couple of hours, but coming with a charged laptop helps. The overall vibe is calm with just enough energy to keep the space from feeling sleepy. It works well for coffee dates, casual catch ups, or solo work, especially for anyone who prefers a relaxed atmosphere without too much chaos.

Maybe rightly so as their specialized ingredients are harder to get. We sat inside this time though we used to go mostly mid summer and sit out. The patio was jam full last night so we ate inside where it was quite empty early evening during happy hour. My husband had the happy hour special of the evening, a very large serving of large mussels with grilled sourdough and a lucious broth. We also had some small plate tapas and I mostly grazed those. I love Bocarones and they do it so well though for me last night, the peppers were a bit too spicy. But I got the majority of the little fishies, my husband the peppers.. We also had the tortilla papas and the charred Hazel Dell mushrooms which were excellent. The little salad topping on the tortilla was full of specialty greens like fennel fronds and pea shoots. The mushrooms has a warm egg yolk on top to stir into the dressing which was tasty. We finished with their flan which was as good as my Spanish born neighbor made in my youth. I had a very nice tea with it. I was originally going to knock off a star for pricing but honestly, I don't think they have much option these days.
