This place is really a gem, and Venetian/Palazzo is filled with them. The food here is awesome, but so far I've only had their happy hour dishes - next time I'm eyeing their foie and duck fried rice which reminds me of a fancy version of Kyrgyz plof made with lamb and lamb lard :). The menu is really interesting and eclectic, but not appropriative. It doesn't read like a Frankenstein's monster but rather as a carefully planned to world cuisine. The Miami vibe helps out too, one is put at ease with the beautifully designed bar the fans blowing overhead. The food: oysters, goat cheese croquettes, stuffed dates, salmon poke, pig ears. The pig ears are obviously a must have - so perfectly crispy. The croquettes were delicious and not too heavy. For a 1.50, I enjoyed the oysters, fresh clean taste and big and juicy yet still sweet. They looked like Bluepoints, so perfect for the price. The salmon poke was seasoned and accompanied by a non overwhelming sauce, the subtleness of it was really appreciated and it let me appreciate the freshness of the ingredients used. The stuffed dates were also very good, from the bacon, to the Portuguese sausage and the date itself (maybe heavy for some). Finally the drinks here are great as well, the bartenders are all awesome at this spot. read more

My friends and I were in Vegas for my girlfriend's birthday and we came here on Sunday to grab some dinner and drinks. We were there at 10pm, so the place was pretty empty. This was definitely as huge factor in our food coming very quickly. We ordered A LOT of food, so I can only remember some of things we got. The duck and waffle was absolutely delicious. The ribs were amazing. I don't remember anything else, but there was not a bad dish in the bunch. The waiter was super helpful when we were ordering. He let us know if the dish we wanted to get would be enough for the 7 of us, and would suggest alternatives if it wasn't. I'm kinda sad I can't remember his name, but he was awesome! We ordered some drinks as well. I got the Rum & Bramble. It was on the sweeter side, which I usually don't like, but I still enjoyed it. After we were done with our food, the waiter brought the birthday girl a dessert and we all sang happy birthday to her. It was some sort of apple French toast thing that was served in a small cast iron skillet and a side of ice cream. It was delicious and, more impressively, free! Just went there a couple of days ago and it was good. Fortunately for ther just before 3p so got to take advantage of happy hour. I got the speakeasy cocktail which was tequila based and had some jalapeño but was not too spicy- that was goo. Also had the tuna poke and wings. They were really good. Will definitely return. All the food seems to be well executed and of high quality. But in the end it's a tapas resultant. The cocktails were more impressive than the menu. But everything we ordered was well received. The street corn while modest in portion size was a table favorite. The Korean Ribs were flavorful as were the Spare Ribs. The Asian style fired chicken was less memorable. Love this spot! Perfect for me as I was on a restricted diet and finding "healthy" food on the strip can be tricky. They were able to customize my meal leaving all sauces On the side and had all the staples I was looking for ( chicken breast, sweet potatoes/yams & asparagus)! My girlfriend and I took my best friend here for his birthday back in November after reading great reviews for it and we were not disappointed! It was during brunch so we got the beignets and steak and eggs. Everything was cooked to perfection. At the end I think we tried to split up the bill but confused the waitress and ended up giving her the same card twice. We didn't notice until we left and didn't know what happened so when I email and explained the situation and they were so helpful. I told him it was no big deal and just wanted to make sure we didn't get charged 3 times but he offered to take of us next time I was in Vegas. My girlfriend and I came back in January for her birthday and the manager Andrew took care of everything. They even set up a both with decorations for the occasion. It was more than anything I could've of expected or imagined. The service we received that night from Peter that night is some of the best I've ever had as well. Overall the food was OK. The ceviche and ribs as well as several other tapas were very good. I would have liked a little more date in the bacon wrapped dates. The deep-fried goat cheese balls were not edible and wouldn't have ordered them if the description had somehow tipped us off that they were deep fried. We were seated near the entrance and three or four times during the meal there was an overpowering smell of raw sewage. The waiter said the public restroom was just outside. Finally, I had to ask the busboy twice to have the weightier come by so I could get another cocktail and he never came. My wife says she thinks they were simply understaffed. read more

Amazing good. We ate there every morning for breakfast/brunch. The food was prepared excellently...both flavor and presentation. There were specialties on the menu, such as Cuban sandwich breakfast with pulled pork and poached eggs sitting on a Cuban bread with mustard, sauteed onions and sweet pickles. Back at Sugarcane on a busy Friday evening but you wouldn't know it by the fabulous service that I received from Noel. He is friendly,knowledgeable and professional. Will, the assistant GM always makes his guests feel welcome and gives the ultimate in Hospitality. This is a place that you can bring a group or the most picky eater knowing that everyone will find something they love. They have both small plates and large so you can share ....if you really want to. The creativity is apparent from Duck confit and waffles for a perfect brunch, pigs ear pad Thai for the adventurous, to dry aged ribeye for the traditional. Tonight I had strawberry balsamic cocktail which is light and refreshing, the most delicious raw oysters and the petit filet Toban with asparagus and mushrooms with a truffle ponzu. We were in Vegas in December and had the treat of visiting Sugarcane. LOVED IT! Do not have enough good things about our entire experience. We're from California and it can be difficult to find the cuisine we enjoy and feel like you're getting your moneys worth in Vegas. Service is on point. Our server, Raquel (I believe!) was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable and kind - she described every dish as it came to the table. Manager Will (I think!) was engaging, welcoming and gave us great recommendations for other restaurants & bars to visit that were more our style. Food was phenomenal. Everything as described and each item's flavor was exceptional. Creative pairings and unique ingredients. Cocktails were a win all around - creative and tasty. Wish we'd taken pictures, but everything was too delicious and there was no waiting by our party for those antics. Please please enjoy this gem of a spot! read more

We came in for dinner for two before a show. It was a little past 7:30 pm for our reservations. The place wasn't busy when they served us but filled up quickly absolutely it 15 minutes after. We ordered the seafood tower, grilled octopus and smoked fish crudo. We were told the food comes out of the kitchen fast. Unfortunately for us it took longer because of short staffing. We appreciated their honesty and they provided a discount for the late arrival of food and lack of service. Food was amazing and fresh. Reasons for why I gave this place 2 stars.. 1. We ordered bottomless mimosas with food. After 3 mimosas and 45 minutes later we asked our waiter if the food had been put in. He told us that the ticket had been thrown out so a new order would be made. -side note we asked for orange mimosas and received mango(a mistake the waiter also accepted fault for) 2. When the food came out, one of the orders came out with towel fibers on it(not edible or sanitary to eat so we sent it back) 3. The manager had came out after the mistake of our food not being made with bonbons(Nutella filled dough that we didn't ask for) and said sorry. 4. When the bill came we had been fully charged for our meal. We were surprised because we didn't feel like we should be charged fully for service that isn't up to their reputation. The happy hour at this place is wonderful! The drinks that we got were amazing and the mojito came with a piece of sugar cane in it. The appetizers were all very delicious and of the highest quality. We got 4 drinks and 5 appetizers and I loved every single one. The avocado toast is amazing and one of the best I have had. Our server was great too. For the price, I was super impressed as it was high quality stuff and totally beat out the other place we had tried earlier in the day in the same area by far. Phenomenal! Came in for happy hour and sat at the bar. G immediately greeted us and grabbed drink orders from us. We ordered a bunch of different things all of which were super delicious. Salmon poke was yummy and had these little rice crisp balls to give it some texture. The octopus might have been the best I have had, there was a spicy sauce over it and a nice char on the octopus itself. Brussel sprouts were to die for, the orange and soy glaze was delicious. We did the fluke kombu crudo and the bluefin tuna crudo, fish was extremely fresh on both. I love that they have oysters on their happy hour too! For drinks we did a frosè , a mojito, and a middle strawberry and vodka drink, G also made me a cocktail he came up with which was amazing. For dessert we had the torrejas, which was the perfect ending and I would go back to Sugarcane just for this. Overall I love love loved!!! The staff was knowledgeable and told me everything that was on each place. G was extremely accommodating and made great conversation. I think with a high volume location, and being in Vegas.. a lot of places on the strip lack good old hospitality and solid bar service. Not Sugarcane! Attention to detail is terrible. I ordered 3 poached eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast and hot tea. First of all when they brought the tea, the hot water from the cup was spilled all over the saucer leaving the cup half empty. "No big deal", I thought. Then they brought the food. The poached eggs were ice cold outside and inside, while the rest of the dish was hot. I asked the waitress if I could have the eggs hot. She brought me a new batch in a separate plate. When I bit into the toast it was soggy and salty from the water dripping into it from the old cold poached eggs on the same plate. Most places drain the salty water before they place poached eggs on the plate. Here, I guess they just plopped them on. I honestly lost my appetite and left most of the breakfast uneaten. The waitress saw this, but never asked us how the food was, or why I didn't eat it. She never came up to us to pour us more hot water or coffee for my wife. She was polite and pleasant, but clearly didn't care. I've had better food and service at my local diner. I expected a lot more from a restaurant at the Palazzo/Venetian. read more

Love the all day brunch idea. Sugarcane offers a decent variety of brunch food. We got there around 11 ish on a Sat morning. It was not that busy at all. We ordered the avocado toast and waffle. Pretty simple stuff that can't be screwed up. The avocado toast was so flavorful. Loved the addition of the goat cheese and even the toast was pretty tasty. The only problem was that avocado must have come from directly the fridge because it was cold, which made the egg cold along with everything else. I loved the flavor, but wasn't too keen on quickly cooling food. The waffle was your straight up waffle, nothing more nor nothing less. Liked the mixed berries and the maple syrup was delicious. Vanilla whipped cream was great, but personally would prefer vanilla whipped butter like Bouchon's. Whipped cream makes it more like dessert. Anyhoo, Sugarcane is an ok option for brunch, but I would recommend checking out brunch menu from other restaurants nearby like Chica and Yardbird as they seem to offer more exciting brunch options. read more

We've been here twice now - after our first dinner here we decided to come back again for round two to try the plates we didn't get to the first time. That being said - we ended up having the Brussel sprouts and the ceviche a second time! Other musts include the tuna tartar, fall squash and pork neck, and the chicken thigh.
