Girlfriend and I had just finished getting massages and needed somewhere to go for lunch. We yelped for suggestions, and didn't want to try chatta box again. We saw that sugarcane was right across the street and figured we should check it out despite the lower score. It shouldn't be lower. We got Shumai appetizer, Tom Yum soup, and bulgoki lunchbox, along with 2 thai ice teas! The soup was big but I guess had too many veggies for her taste. The lunchbox had the main dish, hot and sour soup, lo mein, salad, white rice, plus an appetizer (I got crab rangoons). It was all delicious and presented well, I love lunch box specials. The bulgoki was new for me but I would definitely get it again! Thai iced tea wasn't the best I've had but you can't really go wrong. Wait staff was super nice and very available to refill water and check on us. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys chatta box or crystals kitchen. Give it a shot! read more

Sugar Case has a nice menu and the meals are always prepared hot and fresh. The pad thai with chicken is flavorful and other good dishes to choose from include the orange chicken, the crispy fried rice, the spring rolls and more! The chicken tenders are less flavorful than they should be and are rather basic chicken tenders in nature rather than something with a Thai flair to it. Online ordering is very easy to use and there is never a significant wait for pickup. Delivery option used to be available but no longer is unfortunately. read more

I decided to try this based on a recommendation from my boss. Places is cute and small but clean. The servers were very nice and attentive. I love their menu, lot of great options.. Bridgewater is a center for Thai food in the area, and this place stacks up with the other places in the near by (which I won't mention but are also top notch). We come here for lunch one in a while, and it's always been great. There's also Japanese, Korean and even Chinese on the menu. My favorite is the Korean pork lunch box. It's spicy and delicious. This comes with salad, rice, an appitizer, lo mein and soup. I can also personally vouch for the fresh rolls, drunken noodle and pad thai. read more

There's Thai food...and then there's Sugarcane. Now, there are only a few companies/restaurants that I will be a loyal fan for the rest of my life and Sugarcane is one of them. They excel in not only the food and service, but treat you like family. I have been going there for years and I'm surprised at how many people don't know about this place, or go to ChattaBox across the street. Boy, you're missing out! I will never forget my first time at SugarCane, the staff greeted me like I was long lost family and welcomed me to their place. It is small and intimate which I like. I hate when a place tries to go overboard with bright lights, loud music, and crazy decor. SugarCane keeps it to a minimum: there are only a few pieces of artwork on the walls, a small Buddha statue is chilling on the top where a picture of the King and Queen of Thailand is hidden in a corner on the right. There is one TV that is always on low volume and cute cover American songs in Thai or instrumental. On this particular trip, we went because I am moving to California and wanted to have a lasting impression of the best damned Thai food in Massachusetts before I leave. They greeted and hugged me when I came in and we began our lunch. We started off with my favorite, fresh spring rolls which of course were delicious! The peanut sauce is sweet and a perfect topping for them. For the main course I had my staple--Hot Basil chicken with white rice. I have it all the time, so much in fact they don't even have to ask what I want anymore LOL. I like mine spicy and they do it exceptionally well, the basil is outta this world, the veggies scrumptious, and all in all FAB-U-LOUS. I've had my share of Thai food, but this is and always will be the best I've ever had. It's fresh, made with care, and bursting full of flavors! Just the way I like it. :) My friend who was with is (first timer) was having a hard time deciding, she noticed the couple next to us had mango chicken and they raved how delicious it was. Sold! She got it and couldn't stop talking about how amazing it was. Yup, Sugarcane will do it to you. My mom had her traditional Shrimp Pad Thai and my brother had Crispy Pad Thai with duck. Delicious! The only problem? Whether to keep on eating or save it for later! But our appetites got the best of us and we didn't regret it. We were having such a good time eating and talking that we probably spent about three hours there when it should've been just an hour meal. The waitstaff never pushed us and checked in on us to see how we were doing. It was a quiet day there (caution: go there during lunch, the place is small and dinner would be crowded) and we felt right at home. They even offered to take our picture as a memento before my leave. Then it was time to go, some hugs and well wishes, and we left. My only caveat is I wish I could put them in my pocket and carry them with me. Every Thai place I go now will never be like Sugarcane. Alas, parting is such sweet sorrow! read more

WOW, this place gets five stars. I thought the Chatta-Box across the street was good but this place blows them away. Food is a 9.9! The service is greaqt, the atmosphere is excellent, restaurant and bathrooms are clean, and menu has an excellent offering. I had lunch here today with a couple of business associates and we where all blown away. Pad Thai is a 10, Hot and Sour soup is a 10, Steamed dumplings are a 10! BEWARE: Try to get there for lunch a bit early or a bit late. The dining room is very limited and you will be in for a wait if you don't get seated. This place is guaranteed to thrill! Anyways, I can't really make any comparison as they taste as good as Chatta box and basically the same price...maybe they should move closer to the center and that would give them an edge. SugarCane is just a knock off Chatta Box. There is no wait for tables and its high priced for no reason. The quality of the food is cheap like from a cheap chinese spot. I love the mango chicken because of Chatta box, but when I got it here, it was fulled with vegetables and a few pieces of cheap chicken. I also ordered the tom yum soup with shirmp. Food was just ok overall. We had chicken nuggets and crap rangoon and avocado salad for appetizers then noodle soup and Lomain for the meals. The noodle soup was the best but everything else was just ok. The avocado salad was not very good. Too much mayo. Would have rather gone to Crystals Kitchen which is where we usually go. My 11 year old loved the fried food and the soup but wasn't crazy about the lomain. The services was very good. read more

Nice decorated restaurant. Food is very nice in general, a lot of options to choose from, but I do have fixed review on their food. 1. Chicken wing - it was outstanding. crispy outside, tender inside. great flavor. very big portion size. Close to the best chicken wing i have ever had. 2. Mango Shrimp - Nice dish, big shrimp with mango, very refreshing. goes well with rice since there are a lot of sauce that come with this dish. 3. Summer roll - terrible. I think they should change the vendor for the outside wrapper, it was thick, chewy, can't even bite it off. The vermicelli inside was dry. The entire combination of these ingredients is just making things worse. Overall, I think this is still a good choice for dinner (just don't order the summer roll). read more

My favorite place! I could eat here every day! The food is amazing. So fresh. The wait staff are so nice and recognize me when I come in. They know what tea I like and that I always ask for extra ponzu sauce with my sushi. I'm so glad I live so close to this place. My husband and I have been going to SugarCane for many years. And we have also introduced our friends to this restaurant. We thought the food was delicious and clean, and we would make it a trip to go there. But lately - since January - the quality of food has been downhill. I am not one to complain about a restaurant because we want to always give our local restaurant our business and give them a few chances before we say we won't go anymore. We did order last week for lunch and was disappointed in their ginger wings. But thought maybe it was just a one off. So we tried again today. This review is for lunch take out that really disappointed us. We ordered our usual - crispy chicken pad thai and mango with sticky rice, and decided to try a couple new dishes - general gaos chicken and seaweed salad. We found a small piece of steel wool cleaner in our general gaos dish, which is a turnoff. The seaweed salad had a funky taste to it. The pad thai was okay but the crispy chicken was overly salty. The only good thing that was consistent was the mango with sticky rice. It also seemed there is new mgmt and new chefs. The food does not taste like how it used to last year. The food has changed quite a bit. read more

Excellent!! I love this place. Fast service, everyone speaks perfect English, many many many selections available and if you're vegetarian you're in luck! Pretty much anything on their menu is available as a vegetarian dish (though some of the soup bases have fish sauce in them.) I love everything about the Sugar Cane. I've gotten takeout from here 2-3 times and each time was just "meh" about it. While some items were pretty good, overall, I find the flavors to be bland and the menu to be limited. There hasn't been anything that's truly stuck out as a fail, but nothing has blown me out of the water, either. As the Chatta Box is across the street, with a bigger menu and bigger flavor, I think I'll stick to that place. read more

SugarCane one of my favorite places to eat on the South Shore with their diverse pan-Asian menu with an authentic Thai focus. Service is excellent-- friendly, attentive, prompt, helpful. Atmosphere is lovely-- a blend of clean modern decor and traditional Thai accents. Food is very good-- fresh ingredients, beautiful plating, reasonably priced. They also have a small but satisfying selection of alchoholic beverages, a television, easy parking, and a very pretty fish tank. Some of our favorite dishes are: The Roti scallion pancake appetizer- crisp/chewy with an intoxicating curry dipping sauce The Kimchi soup- spicy and savory. Oh, so kimchi might be an acquired taste, but this soup is addictive. The Pla Goong shrimp salad- Fresh, tangy, sweet, and spicy. Any of the curries- fresh ingredients + curry = obviously delicious. The Mango w/Sweet Sticky Rice dessert- the best I've had. Perfectly sweet, glutinous sticky rice and beautiful fresh mango. The Lychee Smoothie- well I've never had a bad smoothie but there aren't many places to get REAL fresh fruit smoothies around Bridgewater. SugarCane makes good ones and the exotic, tropical, sweet lychee is one of my favorites. Nearby pan-Asian restaurants should be worried-- SugarCane is fresher, prettier, brighter, better! read more

I work near Bridgewater so this is a weekday lunch spot I patronize. In general I would say this is the expensive version of Chattabox. The menu selection being somewhat the same, their potion tends to be smaller and the price is about $1 - 2 more. My stable dish from this place is the Orange Chicken. In terms of consistency I would say its a winning dish 9 out of 10 times. Their H&S soup has a Thai spin to it, which is pretty good though over priced. Waiting staff is always friendly and attentive, that's why I keep on going back. This is a small cozy place. I would say if you never tried it its defintely worth a trip and form your own opinion. read more

My husband and I visited Sugarcane Thai yesterday for the first time, for lunch. Everything from our drinks and appetizers to our lunch and experience was fantastic. They brought out our food promptly and everything was absolutely delicious. Prices were beyond reasonable. My lunch sized portion of chicken lo mein alone was more than double the dinner sized portion of the same dish anywhere else (for just $9)! I ordered from this place for the first time tonight and wow I am pleasantly surprised! I got the Tuna Lover maki roll and it is the biggest maki I have ever seen! It was very tasty too. I love the seaweed salad inside. We tried the chicken fried rice, beef pad see yew (flank or hanger steak!), steamed chicken dumplings (ok) and the scallion pancakes, which were fried and I wasn't expecting that. I love that they don't use MSG. Lastly, this place is clean and that is a major star in my book! Good quality food and less expensive than most places around here. read more

We often visit SugarCane after a day of paddling on the nearby Taunton River. They have a good assortment of vegetarian appetizers and entrees. I especially like the veggie noodle soup, with rice noodles and lots of fresh, crisp-tender vegetables. It's a good light option, not fried. The service has always been pleasant and efficient. Sugarcane restaurant is, in my opinion, as "good as it gets" for this type of cuisine. First, the selection is vast, lots of appetizers, entrees, specialties etc. to pick from. While there are traditional dishes, the menu also offers more unique items not commonly found on the menus of local Asian restaurants. Second, the food is, in a word, delicious. It is flavorful, tastes good, and smells divine. Also, do appreciate the fact that the chef actually uses different sauces for the various dishes, as some other Asian restaurants merely use the same sauce as a base for a variety of dishes. For appetizers I would recommend the Ginger Wings or Sugarcane Rolls. Entrees, we have tried General Gaos Chicken, Orange Chicken, Basil Chicken, Schezuan Chicken, Crispy Thai Noodles. I have heard good things, too about the Kimchi rice, but have yet to try it. And just you wait until the aromas start to make their way from the kitchen to the dining area - you'll definitely know that you're in an authentic Asian restaurant for certain. Third, the staff, is pleasant, attentive and accomodating. It is a family-run restaurant and they take great pride in offering exemplary customer service. The one bit of advice that I offer is if going on a Friday or Saturday evening, plan on making reservations, since it can get quite busy and seating is limited. Parking is available, and also believe Sugarcane delivers to the local area. I do highly recommend Sugarcane. read more

This is our BEST Thai Cuisine ever! My husband and I love it and have been there a number of times after we found it. Clean dining area and restroom, reasonable price, and great service. They just did some renovations with more seats available so we don't have to wait in line like before. Service and ambiance are still incredible. There are also so many choices on the menu, but our favorites are Ginger Wings, Hot and Sour soup, Mango Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodle, etc. We still keep changing and trying different things and are always satisfied. My husband says "they just get better and better every time we come." 5/5 i would recommend this restaurant to all friends and family. My wife and I went yesterday for lunch and we were both thrilled with our experience there. We started with the sugarcane rangoons, chicken springrolls and chicken satay skewers. Each of which was extremely fresh, delicious and had beautiful presentation on top of it all. My wife got chicken lo mein and i picked chicken korean noodles both of which were absolutely to die for and were generous with the portion sizes. Food was good but the young waitress we had was HORRIBLE. One of us in the group had a basil allergy and she got mad at us about asking if there was basil in it. She was very quick to take our order and when she got the order wrong, she got mad and slammed the plates down like it was our fault. Dinner takeout was excellent this evening. Appetizer consisted of a mix tempura dish with veggies and seafood. Main entrees were Bulgoki Korean marinated beef fried rice and mango seafood fried rice, and the mango fried rice was the sure winner. The portions were generous enough for three diners with enough leftover for a single lunch. My only beef was the slivers of beef in the Bulgoki plate--it was tasty but not enough protein if you ordered a single main dish. read more

We went in for a quick lunch. The food was good ..we had the pad thai and spicy tuna Roll and the rainbow roll. The water is flavored with lemon and mint..yummy. The plate I received looked dirty, so the waitress gave me a new plate. We asked for the low sodium soy sauce, and it came out with a layer of dust on the top...not ideal. The waitress was not experienced and barely said two words to us. Not sure that we'll return. read more

Vegetarians BE WARNED!! These people are liars. The "Vegetarian" menu is filled with dishes that contain fish sauce, oyster sauce and who knows what else. The staff was rude and unhelpful when I tried to get clear information as to what dishes were free of animal products. I will NEVER go there again. If you are vegetarian or vegan, please let them know how upset you are to be deceived by a menu claiming to be "Vegetarian". It is literally full of animal products. I am not militant about being a vegan. I just have to ask questions so that I know what I am getting and only request that a restaurant work with me. SugarCane people are deceiving us. read more

This is a great restaurant, and in my opinion is the best Asian restaurant on the South Shore. The food is delicious, and looks as good as it tastes. The service is friendly and helpful, and they are more than willing to prepare a dish to your liking. I'm not a big fan of very spicy food so I usually ask for the mild version of their spicy dishes, and they always make it just right. I used to be a big fan of the Chatta Box across the street, but since I discovered this place I haven't been back to Chatta Box because I think SugarCane is better in every way. They have a lot of the popular Thai and Chinese menu regulars, like Pad Thai, fried rice and Kung Pao, but they also have many dishes on the menu that I've never seen at other restaurants, such as Korean dishes and their own specialties like Thai Ribs and Crazy Rolls. And their fried rice is the best I've ever had, well seasoned, and well prepared. I made the mistake of letting a friend try some and after one bite he was insisting that I share it with him. I always get something different whenever I go, which is about once or twice a month, and I've never had a bad meal there, ever. I can't say the same for any other restaurants I usually go to. If you like Asian food, do yourself a favor and try this place, I promise you will not be sorry. read more
