Pre-pandemic, I had gone to the same establishment for 10 years to get waxed. I needed a new place after it closed and came to Sugar + Bronzed. The initial visit was excellent. The second visit was awful - rushed, unpleasant (even though they were removing hair in a sensitive area) and I complained. I gave them another try and again, I had a pleasant experience. Finally, this most recent visit with Flora was again awful. She rushed through it; didn't care that she was hurting me and made it seem like it was my fault and that I just needed to use their services more. (Why would I do that if it's so awful?) I tried giving them another chance but I think I just need to move on. I think another reviewer here also complained about Flora. read more

I have been a Sugared+Bronzed member for almost 2 years now and I have had A LOT of encounters at many of their locations. This review is for the Pasadena location only: I received the WORST spray tan of my life at this location. I woke up the following morning BRIGHT ORANGE as a bridesmaid in a wedding. I was told the color would look "natural" but ended up being stared at because I looked like I had slept in a tanning bed for 10 years. I had to spend over $25 in exfoliating products and a 30min shower exfoliating 5-10 layers of skin off my entire body for 3 days in a row. Although I was given a "free" month membership for this, it should come with a warning that the airbrush does NOT stay the color it was when they spray you (as claimed) but it darkens significantly. Beware, this is their "level 3" and I'm naturally medium/beige. Additionally, I have received Brazilian sugaring at this location and for some reason, it is much more painful by these workers than the other 3 locations I've visited. I have torn labia and cuts around my vaginal opening from the vigorous tearing by the sugar tech. Now I have to ask that they avoid the vulvar/labia area entirely. I think maybe this location could benefit from more thorough training to match other locations skill. read more

I decided to visit Sugared + Bronzed on a whim today! The front desk employee, Yasmine, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me schedule an appointment and walked me through the process of sugaring. When I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff members and was taken to a room. The facility was very clean and organized. Denise was my sugarista for the day and was very welcoming. She answered all of my questions and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was okay. Afterwards, she gave me a card with the next steps for the next 24 hours and I was on my way. I came here 2 months ago for my first time sugaring since doing hard waxing for years. I was really excited. I've heard nothing but good things about sugaring. I had a bit of hair but no one ever makes me feel bad... I usually grow hair really fast D: all the other waxers made me feel comfortable and safe. I had Flor and she is soooo rude and mean. I had a brazilian. She made me feel like I was the problem up bc my hair grows fast & thick... I didn't ask for my genes to set me up this way? lol... I normally don't talk during any services cause i'm shy but she didn't even ask how I was doing or make me feel comfortable at all. all she did was complain about how much hair i had and the pain i was in. She told me to stretch my skin to help her and I accidentally touched her hand... she said "don't touch me" in such a rude way. Like lady I don't wanna touch your hand ! it was an accident bc YOU told me to stretch my skin. if it were up to me i would've chosen anyone but you.... Had it not been for how nice and smooth I stayed down there I wouldn't be back. It's also 5 minutes away from my house. I really wish they didn't make you tip because I felt she didn't deserve it. and I ALWAYS tip even if the service isn't great. that's how bad it was. I read the bad reviews on here and I wouldn't be surprised if they were mostly if not all Flor bc she is extremely rude and all sound like what happened to me.... I decided to come back yesterday and was really hoping she wasn't there and if she was, that she wouldn't service me. she was there but luckily I had Denise... Denise is so sweet!! had I had Denise the first time I would've come back sooner. I had a good amount of hair and she made me feel so comfortable ! didn't make me feel ashamed at all which I was worried about coming here. i got a membership and will be back very often, I will definitely call beforehand tho to see if Denise is there. I was so happy with the service and results I came back today for my first tan! I usually tan easily just being in the sun but it's always uneven. I wanted it to be more even and just wanted to try it in general bc it's all natural. I wish I got her name, but she was so nice! she made me feel so comfortable even tho I was fully nude ! I was so shy but just wanted to be all even. we had nice convo and laughs.... I almost forgot a complete stranger was spray tanning my naked body lmao.. if anyone who works here is reading this, she had a sweater on and reddish purple hair ! she was so sweet. I've been self tanning for years, and tried so many different tanning brands / businesses. Sugared and bronzed is hands down, my favorite! It's super easy to book online, the color looks awesome, and super natural! I am as pale as they come (like cannot tan to save my life/stark white), and I always get the 3, which looks very natural but also has a great glow. Definitely get the bronzer spray to touch up your face, and the fan extending lotion is great. Kaycee is my favorite and I bought a membership so I can get my glow regularly :) read more

I have a membership here only because Maya gives the BEST TANS & Bianca too! I prefer sugaring over wax and it's worth the drive for the great customer service, I was sick dealing with dying parents, flu etc and they were so accommodating again they have a lot of locations but this is my favorite location - worth the drive. I hope future visits will live up to here if I use when traveling and moving out of Dtla to a diff area so hopefully I can still commute reasonably. All the girls are super kind, I just have my preference after results. Go here!!! read more

I got a Brazilian sugar with Stephanie. She did a great job - quick, clean, and thorough. She was done in about 20 minutes. No sticky residue (which is my pet peeve about getting Brazilian waxes/sugar) so I was very happy about this! Store is warm, clean, and inviting. Parking is easy.
