I submitted three pairs of pants for alteration. Two were completed without incident. The third pair needed hemming and the waist extended one inch. The owner and I discussed the alteration for the waist. I suggested that he use the fabric left over from the hemming be used to extend the waist. When I arrived to try on all three pair to ensure they were correctly done, I was appalled at what had been done to the third pair. The owner had removed all of the labels from my pants, and had three seams running down my butt. Not a good look. The owner stated that he could not add the inch on the right side of the pants due to the pocket. I said why didn't you call me to inquire if I wanted to proceed before you ruined my pants. He couldn't answer the question. I stated that if you had called, I would have told you DON'T PROCEED, LEAVE THEM ALONE and only hemming them. Now, because the seams were surged in and surged again when he seemed them up. These pants are too tight and cannot be worn. The pants cost $174, and I was charged $65 for the alteration. I will NEVER go back again. On top of all of this, he was cocky about not putting the labels back in my pants. He stated that "he didn't think the labels were important." Wrong answer, these are my pants and you don't determine what was not important to me. When I duscuss an alteration with you abd you or whoever is doing the alteration change it, you should call the customer before proceeding. DONE WITH THIS PLACE. read more

On my second dress, he fixed two snags in the delicate silk mesh (by adding two appliques), adjusted the silk mesh neckline and altered the length of the gown. I wanted to give this place five stars so badly since I've read great reviews but, they destroyed my beautiful faux fur coat I brought in to have the cuff (with fur) shortened. I called to tell them about it but, the lady I've spoke on the phone wont acknowledged it at all. No apologies either. I had the three suits jackets altered by this business, the tailor asked for full payment upfront and stated it would take three weeks. They took my number but never called. I called more than 6 times leaving messages everytime. When I went to the business at the fifth week, the tailor insisted I was lying about calling 6 times until I showed him my call history. He then stated I must have a blocked my number, untill I dialed the number in his presence and my name was on his caller ID. He then stated his answering machine has been broken for awhile. At first, costumer service was amazing but after you give your payment upfront and walk out the door. Thank you for this place. During these tough times, I landed a job interview. A significant, and much needed, job. Notification of an in-person job came 2 days in advance. I needed a suit and no retailers were open because of the COVID-19 lockdown. I found suit city on an internet search and called them. Their recorded message said that if I had an emergency, then leave a message. I got a call back and they agreed to see me on an appointment basis. I was asked to be in my cousin's wedding in May back in November & was fitted for my bridesmaid dress in December. I found out in March that I was expecting, but wasn't able to exchange my dress as they were special order. My dress arrived in April & it ended up being too tight around the chest & belly area. I knew my belly was only going to get bigger, so naturally I was in a panic. I have never had to alter a dress to add sizing before & I honestly didn't think I could be done with the type of dress I needed altered. I went to a place in downtown Tracy in the past, but I wasn't too happy with their work on some slacks they had hemmed for me. I spent a lot on my bridesmaid dress, so I wanted to make sure it was done by a reputable place. Suit City had the best reviews in Tracy so I gave them a shot. The gentleman measured me & determined I would need at least 3 inches added to my waist area! He acknowledged that it would be quite a task, but assured me he could do it. I was also on a time crunch & only had 2 weeks to get it altered. The wedding is on Thursday & I picked it up today, Monday. The dress fits perfect! He was able to give plenty of room for my growing bump & I had room to breathe. I purchased a suit online with custom measurements (self-measured) thinking it was going to come in exactly the way I wanted it to fit. I was wrong lol. I had less than two weeks until my wedding day and needed to get it altered as soon as possible. I came here and spoke with Abdul. He was amazing. He made me feel calm and despite all the work that needed to be done (tapering arms, taking in the blazer, shortening the blazer, tapering the pants... and much more) he said he would be able to do it by my wedding day. He even put a button hole in my lapel so that my lapel pin would not damage the suit. Amazing customer service, amazing work. He knew exactly the look I was going for.
