I've walked past Suited numerous times thinking it's only a coffee shop. It's so much more! Their brunch plates are innovative, big portions and moderately priced. My friend was visiting from out of town and we caught up over a great brunch. We ordered the Breakfast Plate ($16) and Eggs Florentine ($16) - you can add smoked salmon for an extra $7 and it's so worth it. I'll be back to try the pancakes and fried chicken sandwich. The owner or manager was sitting with his family on a Saturday morning and helping take orders when it got busy. Love supporting a thriving small business. Coffee with oat milk runs you about $7-8 but it's good coffee. Par for the course and comparable to Blue Bottle or La Colombe in both taste and worth. I love Suited! I live in Tribeca and often come to FiDi for appointments, and Suited is my favorite area spot for specialty coffee. The owner and the employees here clearly know their stuff and understand coffee, sourcing it, preparing it, and making drinks very well. It's always a pleasure to come here and talk to Michael or Lorenzo about the beans they have on selection and listen to their recommendation on what to get that day. Beyond that, the interior design is beautiful, clean, and well thought out, and they have yummy pastries and a pretty full menu and kitchen for brunch and lunch foods too. The non-coffee drinks are also quality - they have Dona Chai, for example. Give this place a try! read more

I had a very bad experience at Suited Cafe this morning, a staff in the Cafe was very unfriendly. I am a bit nearsighted and I wasn't wearing glasses, so I couldn't see the menu on the wall clearly. I asked this lady if there's a paper menu, and she impatiently replied, "No". I told her it's a bit difficult to see the menu on the wall, not only did she not provide any help, but she also showed extreme impatience. No matter what question I asked her, she would deny it and respond loudly with a valley girl accent, basically she was trying to make me feel that my question was very stupid. She even rolled her eyes to show her contempt. I have lived in New York for more than 10 years and have not written any negative reviews for service staff, because I have not had any unpleasant experiences. I was shocked by the lady's attitude. I've been living in the area for three years. I used to occasionally visit this restaurant, but haven't come over in the past few months. The restaurant is quite good, both in terms of food and drink quality. I just don't understand why the shop owner would hire such a mean, rude and impolite person? My gf and I came here for breakfast while doing a practice run to her work. It is a little classy cafe in the financial district! We shared the the sausage egg and cheese sandwich and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Both were absolutely phenomenal! We both got iced coffees, which were good. Next time I will probably get a cappuccino instead. The service was on point, everyone was very friendly. This is a MUST GO! read more

Step into an oasis of peace and delicious food and drinks. Love the aesthetic - it's a small space but it's laid out so well, it doesn't feel crowded. There is a serene feeling. Lovely baked goods sit behind the counter, and the chocolate croissant was fantastic. The coffee is great, with nut and oat milk options available if you ask. I also ordered green juice (which comes in a bottle). Great spicy Caesar salad, and the granola bowl is simply delicious. The tartness of the yogurt reminds me of homemade yogurt, and the fresh fruit and honey and granola were all perfect. It's Simple Very little space to sit but it works. Coffee is perfection every time. Company said best chi latte they ever had so plus. Breakfast burritos aren't amazing but did the job. Suited's coffee is always spot on & their focaccia is out of this world-simple but so satisfying. I would like to see more vegan options & soy milk as an offering. Suited has very friendly employees. It also has the cards one can earn a free coffee from. I work in the neighborhood part time & do not get to go daily. That being said I went yesterday, 4/7/23 at 12:30 & the female barista knew exactly who I was & how I like my coffee. That is true professionalism right there. I was really flattered & thrilled. I came here - first and foremost, to try the coffee - per a barista friend's recommendation. Suited takes their coffee seriously. They source from some of the best roasters in New York, and also have some coffees from international roasters as well. I was able to chat about the coffee's flavor/texture/etc as well as about the shop's machine/equipment with one of the baristas there. He was knowledgeable and happy to chat with us, all the while managing to serve the many customers who kept streaming in-and-out of the shop. I'm glad they still have some washed options available -- maybe it's because I'm having a slew of naturals lately but I've been finding myself gravitating towards the clarity more often present in washed. New York's café scene feels intrinsically different in atmosphere to that of Portland's, so it feels a little unfair to take that approach in my review here. Whereas Portland cafés do tend to be a little slower in pace, the ones I visited in New York were all focused on quick and efficient service, which Suited definitely had. I LOVED their egg sandwich. The brioche bun was fluffy and the eggs were whipped into a firm but delicate scramble. Overall, I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the New York area to see what other guest roasters they're featuring, and more importantly, have an excellently brewed cup of coffee. read more

Ok y'all! It may not make sense why people are raving about a coffee shop, but this place is it. I love to treat myself to a luxurious breakfast some mornings and this place makes me feel pampered (to steal someone else's word). The shop is tastefully decorated to be both cozy, inviting, and upscale. The service is impeccable. The food is so well done. But the real reason I keep coming here is for the scrambled eggs lol. People do not know how to make scrambled eggs. They are usually a hard, dry tasteless mess or a pile of slop. But not here - perfectly salted, deliciously wet, delicately layered. I'm obsessed! Wow what a hidden gem in FiDi! Came for brunch, for coffee, got a cold brew + oat milk, and for food, got the sausage egg and cheese sandwich as well as the crispy chicken sandwich. I've had this place saved for a long time and finally got the chance to go. This cafe is very cute and modern but over $5 for a cortado is absolutely absurd! It is such a small amount of coffee and I have only ever paid $4 max for one. Additionally, I thought I would be able to sit and do some work on my laptop here, but there's no Wi-Fi, so if you're looking for a co-working cafe, this isn't an option. read more

This place was cool and super cute! I love the name and the logo which was a tie! This is an espresso shop. They did not have any coffee but they did have a variety of espresso hot and cold drinks and they also have some food which I would have loved to try! The person who took our order was so nice and created some small talk while our lattes were getting prepared. There is seating and I though there was actually a good amount for NYC. Our lattes were great! One of the best lattes. I have had. Just tastes very fresh and a little on the stronger side. I am so glad we found this place and would love to come back! read more

This place has all the essentials of a go-to cafe - delicious coffee that hits the spot, fresh house made yogurt & granola, and friendly staff that you can joke around with. Plus, the marble top tables and the cute plates / silverware add the perfect touch. I got my usual flat white and the yogurt. I love it when the coffee is flavorful without being too rich or bitter. The house made yogurt had coconut, apples, pears, kiwi, and granola - I actually bought a bag of granola after because I thought it was so yummy! Too bad I can't buy some tubs of their yogurt too... People rave about the lemon chicken salad so I ordered it I thought it was a little plain just walnuts and chicken and lettuce would've been better if they added cheese or beats or anything. Walking down on a post covid - deserted John Street on a hot summer afternoon, I noticed this new coffee shop, Suited. So I gave it a try. Inside it looks very nice and bright. I got a cappuccino and one Cannelle, a little pastry that reminds me of custard. Oh boy, that was so good I got two more! Cappuccino was served in a very unique mug and I enjoyed it on the outside tables. Had the chance to talk to the guy behind the counter and he was super, super nice. The perfect breakfast go to spot! I got the iced matcha with oat milk and my boyfriend ordered a latte with almond milk. The detail in their latte art is exceptional and the ambiance is a perfect spot to grab a cup and joe with friends. If good coffee isn't the perfect excuse to stop by, their breakfast surely is. This place is known as one of the better coffee places in the Financial District but I have to say I did not enjoy my espresso drinks at all. I got the cortado the first time and it tastes straight up sour - I was not sure it was the beans they used or if it was under extracted but it was surprisingly sour to me. I understand acidic coffee is popular but my cortado was so sour it was hard to drink. My husband got an iced americano and it tasted extremely watered down. We went again a second time to see if we got an unlucky espresso pull but the same thing happened with my cappucino and his americano. The milk helped subdue the sourness of the espresso for me, but it definitely is not my first choice for coffee in the area. The americano was a very light color compared to what we were used to and acidic as well. I will say, the interior is great! Beautiful and modern and the food looks delicious. Since this place has such great reviews, I'm just not sure if we were unlucky twice or just don't like their sour beans read more

Espresso aficionados rejoice! This place weighs their espresso shots. I saw the scale myself Indoor dining is available, but can get crowded. I ordered a cortado with oat milk and personally it tasted a little sour and under extracted, but it was definitely drinkable. I saw the reviews mentioned the canelles often, so i got them, and honestly they werent that great. Kind of soggy I wish I had ordered something else from the bakery. read more

Wow - what a gem! Have been wanting to try this spot for ages and finally got the chance on a trip up from DC. Staff was friendly, food was excellent and the coffee was - unsurprisingly - the best I've had in a while. On this trip we had the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and the pancakes. Both were outstanding and hard to pick a favorite!! Can't wait to try more of the menu on more trips. 10/10 recommend this spot - welcome reprieve to the monotony of other places downtown/in FiDi. I thought this place was fine I would actually give it 3.5 stars and not 3. I had the hot cocoa and the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Total with tip that came out to just over $20. The restaurant was very clean and nice and the food came out quickly. I wasn't overly blown away by either of the things I purchased. It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

On a recent visit, I wanted to check if their payment policy had changed (they charge a fee for credit cards on top of the bill)... I asked them if they still charge a fee for credit cards and their answer was "there are signs everywhere". While that might be the case, i didn't see the sign... I have vision issues and when I told them (with additional explanation) they didn't proceed to assist me. A couple overheard my exchange and said they have had issues in the past too. To anyone visiting from out of town: From this New Yorker, please know if you experience something similar at Sarge's it is not the norm ... most NYC restaurants, cafes, grab/go, coffee shops, bodegas will treat you kindly, without attitude. The guys behind the counter are amazing... work hard, helpful. Please tip them, if you have the means to do so.

I feel like this place is good, but the white sauce is what makes it. Would I wait another 50 minutes in line, again? Heck to the no - but 1 time? Yes, just to say I tried it. I came in line around 9:45pm and waited approx. 50 minutes before being served. the line just grows and grows.... it is crazy busy! I don't get the line concept here. Because while I was in a long line, when I get to the front, there's another line to the left of the truck... and people seem to be getting their food faster, and the line is like 2x shorter. So that's kind of confusing. Ambience in line and ordering = chaotic. The line is quick in terms of when it is your turn, KNOW what you want. Because you have like 5 seconds to order and that's it. I ordered the special (the spicy rice, lamb and chicken combo, extra white sauce, 3 squirts of hot sauce, and a topped with fries). $13 in total. I would like to say, advice to folks to know what you want before you come. I did not look at menu options beforehand and I did fairly little research so I honestly did not know what to order, just looked at some google reviews and pictures. That is going to help you, in case you do not want the typical lamb and chicken combo. To the food - 1st - they don't care how much hot sauce you want. they're making these bowls in the masses and are just giving you a single squirt so they can make 20 bowls all at the same time. I was hoping for more spice in what I ordered, but it was very slightly spicy. I'm not sure if they let you serve yourself to more, but I'd definitely want more of the hot sauce. 2nd - I didn't taste any spice in the spicy rice. I'm not sure if, again, due to the fast production that it all just taste like regular rice? but didn't see what the hype was there. 3rd - I genuinely think the white sauce is what brings it all together. The chicken was OK to me. I didn't think it was anything special, and would give it a 3 out of 5. texture was OK, flavor was OK... the lamb definitely stole the show. The lamb was absolutely flavorful and full of delicious spices. This reminded me of what I've had in Dubai. Very rich in flavor and just the perfect amount of spices. Overall, I think if you wait for your food to cool down like 20 minutes, you'll get to taste the flavors more. Everything hot together, for me, just didn't allow me to really absorb all the food. But the rice was your average rice. Pita was deliciously soft and pillowy which complemented the white sauce. Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

The L'Industry is genuinely one of the best pizzas I've had, maybe the best. The burrata on top is fresh and creamy and takes it to another level. Fair warning: the crust is not the typical crunchy NY slice you might expect. It's softer, more of its own thing. I didn't mind it at all, the dough itself is really good, just go in without assumptions. Plan for a wait. The line is part of the deal here. Worth every minute.

But to get your slices... the wait wasn't too bad, even though it felt longer than it did. I probably waited 15 minutes or so? Given the fact that there were 20 others ahead of me, that was not bad at all. By the time you get your food, if you wanted to eat there, you could easily find a spot to slide to, to stand and eat. Pepperoni pizza was delicious. Sauce is on the tangier/more acidic side, more tomatoey. and the pepperoni was great. Slight spice to it, but not as good as L'industries. Nonetheless, this slice was delicious. Hot, melty gooey cheese and lots of pepperoni overload. Crust is divine. I could just eat that by itself. Definitely a great bite whether on the go, drunk, or just because.

Unfortunately, the service really took away from the experience. They don't seem to have appropriate to-go containers for leftover pizza. We had three slices left, and the only option they offered was a large pizza box, which wasn't practical to carry around the crowded city, especially during the Pride Parade. When I asked if they had a smaller box, they simply stacked the slices on a flimsy paper plate and placed them in a brown paper bag. I even asked if I could have one of the sturdier sandwich trays to better protect the pizza and keep the grease from soaking through while carrying it in my bag, but I was told those were "only for sandwiches." We also had leftover chicken parmesan and asked for an extra plate, but they refused, saying we already had one. The whole experience came across as unnecessarily stingy and lacked basic customer service. For a popular pizza shop where many customers take food to go, I'd expect better packaging for leftovers. A simple, sturdy to-go box would make a big difference and prevent greasy slices from getting crushed or leaking through the bag. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. The pizza was decent, but it wasn't worth dealing with the poor customer service. There are better pizza spots in the city, like L'Industrie Pizzeria, where I've had a much better overall experience.

Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. We got the viral pancakes and they were everything you'd dream they be and then some for sure very filling and buttery. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. Weather you come for the viral moment this feels like a solid staple in the community with bright music playing everyone kind of everywhere and just a relaxed feel that you can't wait to enjoy after you get seated. Bathroom rating 5/5 very clean for how busy the place is :)

The honey butter pancakes were pretty good but kinda drenched in the butter that made it hard to finish. The korean wings were also alright but the batter to me was kinda thick and heavy and lacked crispiness. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

The lamb spine came in a delicious broth, but it was a bit hard eating the lamb from the bone for not a lot of meat. The house steamed fish was also amazing. They don't take online reservations for groups over 5, so we called to make one for our group of 6. It was pretty busy Friday night, so would recommend. The service was great; they drew the cutest card when they found out it was my brother's birthday and let us bring a cake. And they also offered hair ties to the people with long hair. You order through an iPad which has a beautiful menu.

It's one of the larger stalls in the market and has some seating, but not enough, and the market seating is very limited as well. I ordered the hibiscus lemonade and the very spicy Dan Dan Mian. I loved watching the staff prepare the noodles while waiting. My bowl was huge and absolutely delicious. It was very spicy as promised, but not too spicy that it was rendered not enjoyable. I looked at other orders and everything looked delicious, leading to only semi-regret of my choice. My lemonade was very good. I'm very much looking forward to returning.
