Strawberry Bingsu with a side of mango
Stanley K.

Sul & Bean is always a great spot when you're craving bingsu. I ordered the fresh strawberry bingsu with a side of mango, and it was the perfect combination. The shaved milk ice was incredibly smooth and melted in your mouth, while the strawberries were fresh and sweet. Adding the mango on the side made every bite even better with a refreshing tropical flavor. The portion was generous and perfect for sharing, but I wouldn't blame you for keeping it all to yourself. If you're looking for a light, refreshing dessert, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Self-serve, once you ordered they give you the ringing machine. Once the order is made, the machine rings, you come to the counter to pick up food. After finished, you returned the tray to designated area. Mango is in season so it was very good, other options such as strawberry cheesecake or yogurt berries also tasty. They no longer gives condensed milk on the side

After dinner nearby, we came here for desserts. Even though this place has plenty of parking, with many other businesses around, finding a parking space can be difficult. This is a small place, but they have enough tables for you to enjoy your Bingsoo (Korean Shaved Ice). We ordered a couple of Bingsoos (don't remember the names), but they were so delicious and refreshing. The person helping us, she was nice and friendly. And we didn't have to wait long for our Bingsoos. It was a great way to end the evening with yummy desserts after having our dinner nearby.

We had the Oreo and Strawberry Cheesecake shaved ice, and it was absolutely delicious! The ice was shaved perfectly so soft and fluffy that it melted in my mouth. we had the taiyaki, which was fresh and hot with Yummy filling of custard and red bean. I would come back again and to try the toast.

We tried their new green grape bingsu and it was so refreshing! It wasn't too sweet either. The middle had bits of green grape and honey. Sul & beans is a safe option for dessert. Their portion sizes are huge and it's enough for 4 people to share. Service was excellent! We received our order shortly after ordering. There is plenty of seating inside the store. Parking is in a shared lot with other businesses but that parking lot is always so packed. Would recommend!

I was craving shaved ice and found this place on yelp. So happy I did ! My boyfriend and I shared the fresh mango bingsoo and two taiyakis. The shaved ice was so fluffy and soft, which was exactly what I was hoping for. I dare say that the taiyaki here was better than the ones at Somi Somi. Will definitely be coming back!

My brother and I were craving a sweet treat and this was one of his favorites so I had to try it for myself! There wasn't a wait for us and plenty of seating inside but it was definitely still bustling. We got the earl grey bingsoo and I really enjoyed it! The bingsoo itself was flavored all the way through, soft, and wasn't too overly sweet. My favorite part was the cream that they had on the side. Just a little bit of the cream added so much to the flavor of the bingsoo! My brother also swore by the cheese injeolmi toast so I had to give that a try. I thought it was a bit too salty but there is also some sweetness to it. I also wish that it was warmer because it was room temp by the time we got it. The portions are all huge and definitely shareable! The bingsoo melted before we could finish it but we were definitely full by the time it melted and it curbed our sweet cravings!

This place is so good! Ordering is fast and easy. And the presentation of each bowl of shaved ice is so pretty. The ice is so soft! Ambiance is nice and it's fresh inside. My go to bowl is the Oreo one, definitely shareable between 2-3 people.

I was absolutely GUTTED that the mango bingsoo is now seasonal, but totally understand and still ordered here anyways. It was crowded when we came and there was only one person working the counter. It took a while to order because the people in front of us couldn't decide what to get...annoying but what can the staff do? We got the strawberry and injeoimi bingsoo. I thought the strawberry was pretty good IF you ask for the additional milk for the side. I think they're supposed to have that, but we had to go and ask for it. I don't injeoimi, the person I was with does and they fully enjoyed it. Wish there was more mochi considering the portions of the other ingredients.

Our family stopped by to grab some bingsoo. Sul and beans never fails to be delicious! It's a milkshake that is light and not overpowering. It's fun to share with family and friends. The flavors that are offered are a good range that will make you come back for more. I'm grateful for the service that is quick and kind. The place is well kept and maintained. We noticed that the team here takes the time to make the food well. There is one restroom that could be better maintained.

Strawberry Cheese Bingsoo

Visited Sul & Beans on a busy weekend afternoon on a super hot day and this is by far one of the best shaved ice/bingsoo shops around. Located in a huge plaza by the 60 freeway in Rowland, parking can be a bit stressful here but there's plenty of people going in and out at all times. There's also underground parking for convenience. Best part is the parking is free although parking spaces are a bit tight compared to your usual parking lots. Inside is very well maintained, moderate amount of seating and somewhat spacious as well. This time around, we ordered one of our favorite bingsoo, the Strawberry Cheese Bingsoo! (Took about 5 minutes for the order to be ready which is pretty fast considering how busy it was.) If you want something fresh, savory, and sweet, this is the perfect bingsoo to get. Filled with fresh strawberries, and topped with plentiful of tangy cheesecake, it's the absolute perfection between sweet & chewy. Strawberries were fresh & very ripe, perfect in season and definitely cut to perfect bite size. Portions are big which makes it perfect as a shareable dish. One of the most refreshing bingsoos around. It's also worth to mention that this location compared to the KTOWN one is a bit smaller, less tables but quality is just as good, if not the same as KTOWN location. Excited to come back to try the various other bingsoo flavors!

Came here at night and the place was super cozy and really clean. Shoutout to Kevin, he took great care of us and gave some good recommendations. We got the chocolate banana bingsoo, black sesame toast, salted yolk strawberry matcha, and a bunch of different taiyaki flavors. Everything was delicious. Will be back for sure!

Oreo Bingsoo

The Oreo bingsoo was surprisingly a HIT! Wasn't too sweet and fresh for a dessert. The toast as OKAY tho, pretty pricey but it's a good treat.

Are you guys open for takeout?

As in Togo? If so then yes they do!

Outdoor seating available?

Yes, but only probably 2 tables and a handful of chairs. It takes up the pedestrian walking area so I wouldn't really consider it outdoor seating, but yes they do have chairs for you to sit outside. lol

Do all of their bingsus use milk as a base? Like is the ice made with milk?

They have milk on a separate container and also in the bowl of shaved ice. If you dont want milk sure they can do it

Not sure what the next theme will be. I did ask one of the staffs and she said they are not supposed to reveal what the next theme will be. For the Street Fighter theme, they only have four drinks. 1. Ryu - Lychee Slush with Dragon Fruit Popping Boba 2. Guile - Mango Dream with Military Green Apple Star Jelly 3. Ken - Strawberry Mango Green Tea with Chamoy Swirl 4. Chun-Li - Blue Curacao Lemonade with Lychee Jelly We ended up ordering the Ryu and Chun-Li drinks. Both came in a cool looking Street Fighter theme containers. Both drinks were refreshing, but I like the Ryu drink a little better. I think they do different collaborations so will have to try a different one next time!

Since the Big Lots has perished, there is PLENTY of parking (hence the car meet that was happening as well). Interior is pretty clean and modern looking. Great place to work on something or to catch up with your friends. You can either order from the kiosk or if you want one of their Kream Kubes it's best to do so in person at their cashier. They do sell out since I believe there's a limited number of them. There are also other baked pastries and sweet treats available too like mini croissants or banana pudding. Very friendly and welcoming service too. For my visit, I got the: 1) Milk Kream Kube: -I wanted to get something basic since it'd be my first time trying a cube shaped pastry that wasn't a huge hulking brick toast and this is honestly a great and perfectly sized sweet baked good to share with someone else as a snack, or perfectly sized if you want to get full with one swoop. -Flaky crisp exterior resembling that of a croissant but not soggy nor dry in the slightest. It's also bready as well. Reminds me of the Asian style breads or the "hotel bread" that they have in Japan on the interior. Went perfectly well with the generous amount of not too sweet milk cream inside. Make sure to have napkins ready! 2) Peach Grapefruit Slush: -Refreshing and sweet taste of peach with the slightly tart and slightly bitter after taste of what I feel like grapefruit tastes like. Perfect for a warm and muggy evening. Overall pretty good cafe for a sweet treat and a drink. Would love to come back and try more kubes.

Their menu is not too big which is also a good sign, you don't want a shop with a lot of options, nice to specialize in a good area which ChaHalo does quite well. They have a unique category called Handmade boba series, which is pretty self explanatory, highly recommended to check those out to see the difference between all the other drinks. My go to here is for sure the Osmanthus Oolong series, very refreshing and not too overwhelming when it comes to the flavoring. It's perfect for a warm day and you know it's good because it's part of their signature series. As a big fan of matcha, they have 3 options, matcha milk tea and two latte options. Lots of interesting drinks with different types of tea that aren't found in a lot of other boba shops. Orchid Scented Green Tea: very interesting and super floral like an osmanthus but lighter. Wouldn't recommend it on it's own but definitely unique. Dancong Oolong Tea: very disappointing and didn't really taste like anything except as a weak generic oolong. Longjing Green Tea: also an interesting green tea that's different from sencha, gyokuro, and jasmine but also a little weak. I think it would go well as a milk tea or lemonade, but it might be overpowered. Signature Trio: definitely a good idea if you want to try small 6-8oz versions of the osmanthus milk tea, dark milk tea and jasmine milk tea. The Osmanthus was very floral and strong. I'd recommend this. Dark Milk Tea was interesting because it was salty and more savory. I wouldn't recommend the jasmine milk tea on it's own as it was kind of boring. Jasmine Green Tea Milk Frappe: definitely their best drink as the jasmine was stronger while also being a little sweeter and creamier than the regular milk tea. Luckily none of the drinks were too sweet even at their recommended levels. I wouldn't order the pure teas again as they were rather weak and lightly sweetened. Their mixed drinks were much better. The wait is about 10-15 minutes on a Saturday at lunch.

When we arrived, the shopping center was extremely busy and all of the parking near Summerfield was taken. We parked along the brick wall in what appeared to be the same parking lot as the restaurant. There was nothing obvious to suggest that those spaces belonged to a separate apartment complex. The only warnings were a couple of small tow signs posted along the wall for about 18 parking spaces, and the main sign near the entrance was bent over and unreadable when driving in. We had no idea that section was private parking monitored by Quick Tow. We went inside, ordered food and drinks, and waited over 30 minutes for everything to be prepared. When we finally finished and walked back outside, our car was gone. After reading other reviews, I realized this isn't an isolated incident. It seems to happen to many people visiting this location. With how popular Summerfield is and how often customers end up parking there, I think the restaurant should at least post a clear warning telling customers not to park along that brick wall because vehicles will be towed. If they truly care about their customers, this seems like a simple step they could take. Instead, at 10:30 at night we were left stranded, had to take an Uber to another city to retrieve our car, wait while the paperwork was processed, and pay $640 to get it back--all in less than an hour after it had been towed. The whole situation felt incredibly predatory and sketchy. While the food itself wasn't bad, this experience completely overshadowed everything else. I won't be returning, and I strongly recommend that anyone visiting be extremely careful where they park. Avoid parking anywhere along that brick wall unless you're absolutely certain it's allowed.

The shop itself was clean and filled with a pleasant tea aroma that created a welcoming first impression. Service was average, with nothing particularly memorable about the visit. Considering the relatively small size of the drinks, paying over $8 per drink felt difficult to justify. **Green Tea with Boba: 2.5/5** For a tea shop renowned for its freshly brewed-to-order teas, this drink was surprisingly lackluster. It tasted noticeably watered down and had very little of the fresh, fragrant jasmine tea flavor I was expecting. The chewy boba was the highlight, offering a pleasant texture with just the right amount of sweetness, but it couldn't salvage an otherwise disappointing drink. **High Mountain Pouchong Tea: 1/5** This drink was an even bigger letdown. Like the green tea, it tasted diluted and lacked the floral depth and complexity that a high mountain pouchong tea should offer. An unusually artificial, creamy, sweet aftertaste also lingered after each sip, further detracting from the overall flavor. Overall, the drinks lacked the bold, distinctive tea flavor I'd expect from an award-winning tea house. Considering the premium prices and relatively small drink sizes, the quality ultimately didn't justify the cost. There are simply too many better bubble tea shops at this price point, and I don't see myself returning.
