Terrible, just terrible Cost a near fortune for a routine service, all to get it back running terribly. We used to get excellent service at this location, but those happy days are gone. We let them do everything they suggested, now it makes a terrible squeaky noise when engine is running. Did not feel comfortable to tell them, hoping it wasn't important. The staff was so rude about any questions we had, didn't feel we would ever get our car back if had said anything. They didn't even wash it (they used to!) I recently purchased a vehicle from SPH, and unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. Just 2.5 weeks after taking the care home, I noticed several issues that required repairs. My check engine light came on, the air stopped working and I am receiving a steering wheel error, as well as needing an oil change. I haven't even made my first payment on the car. I expected a reliable vehicle, especially after being assured everything had been thoroughly inspected. My trade in was certainly scrutinized (lowered from what was originally quoted), yet we decided to move forward with the purchase. The fact that a newly purchased vehicle had to go into the shop so soon raises serious concerns about the dealership's inspection process and transparency. this situation should never have happened in the first place. It's frustrating to spend a significant amount of money only to deal with unexpected problems this soon. I would caution others to be extremely thorough if you choose to buy from this dealership. I regret my purchase, and will be placing a negative review on the google and other internet sites, as the sales department has indicated they will not assist with the cost of it. I spoke withe General Store manager and he stated "he couldn't help" There is a $2400+ repairs that need to be done. Basically if you don't buy their warranty they will not honor your other extended warranty. Car purchased 6/11/25, contacted them for repairs on 6/30/25. Couldn't bring my car in until 7/7/25, and they charged me $160 plus the cost of an oil change. Horrible experience...do not purchase a car from them. Don't let them cheat you. Didn't correct the problem I took it in for. Had it checked at another mechanic and he detected it thru a bulletin dealers get. When called Parkhill back, Tim, service department acted like bulletins aren't that helpful. Took to Diepoltz in Charleston. They looked at bulletin and diagnosed a torque converter problem which is what I told Tim Tim also said it was out of warranty Diepoltz said it WAS covered under our warranty and we had it fixed there and paid NOTHING. Sullivan Chevrolet gave me my car back for the SECOND time with my motor jumping around. The first time my friends at Gallo-Miller worked on my car, after someone backed into me in a parking lot, and asked me who the last person that touched my car was. It was Sullivan, they did the 75k mile maintenance. Then they proceeded to tell me the motor mount bolts were missing. ALL FOUR, missing. I thought my transmission was slipping, so happy that wasn't the case. So last week Sullivan works on my car again for the 100k mile service and guess what... motor is jumping around. They deny all responsibility and then proceed to start advising on what a quote would look like. I just grabbed my keys and said no thanks. Long story short... avoid Sullivan Parkhill service center. I brought my car in last week for shaking steering. I needed suspension work. They quoted me at 3200. Also, I found out the brakes I had put on here just this March were defective. I paid 500 in March. They want to charge me 160 for their labor on the brakes. I told them no on everything till I take it elsewhere the next morning. They charged me 225 to look at my car and quote me. Next day I went to a different place where they quoted me half the price. I got it fixed that day. Sullivan tried charging me for coolant flush, brake flush, and lots of other stuff that the second mechanic said was fine. I went back to Sullivan where it took 4 hours to fix brakes. read more

If you are car shopping in Champaign, Parkland-Sullivan is the place to go (Trust me; I've bought from them all--avoid Serra at all costs!) The reason for a five star review is mainly owing to the sales consultant I worked with at Volvo-Mercedes, Rob Lalumendier. It wasn't easy car shopping during an on-going pandemic but Rob went out of his way to make the entire experience pleasant, safe, and informative. Of course I arrived already having done my homework on Volvos so that helped establish a starting point. But Rob added so much value and depth to my cursory knowledge. Rob outshines every salesperson I've ever met. He was incredibly polite, respectful, authentic (nothing phony about him), HONEST, knowledgeable, forgiving (I can be impatient and demanding). If I changed my mind about something, Rob didn't flinch: he made me feel like he was 100% on my side. When, out of the blue, I ended up going in a different direction (went with a novel program called "Volvo Care," a lease-like program that includes insurance), which was probably not in Rob's best interest (I suppose a sale of something in inventory might have been better for him), he never pushed anything on me, or made me feel unreasonable. He also let me test drive 3 vehicles, including one he had to fetch from another part of the complex--which I asked to test drive on kind of a lark. When it was time to collect my car, there was a snag--mostly owing to errors made further up the Volvo chain wrt managing the transition of the auto. The car was late arriving from another location, and although, not in his purview, Rob never once complained or deflected blame; instead, he went immediately into action. I've never been so impressed. Using his own ingenuity, he was able to fast-track the necessary paperwork so I wouldn't have to wait another day for the car. Then to cap things off, he did something I never saw coming: He offered to accommodate me & my husband AT OUR HOME!! to sign the papers (rather than our going to the dealership); and at which time he also delivered our car. Who does that?!! I was so blown away. I've never had such concierge experience purchasing a car in my entire life. Rob is an outstanding customer advocate, a gentleman, and a walking knowledge-base. You really feel like you are in good hands. He actually cares about you and genuinely wants you in vehicle that best suits your needs, not his. One more thing, when he dropped the car off, he gave me a tour of some of the cool gadgetry and functionality. I could tell by his enthusiasm that he genuinely loved and appreciated the XC40 and its novel design. Seeing that enthusiasm just added to my confidence that I had made the right purchase :-) I am so happy with my car and for having had such a positive experience thanks to Rob. I bought a new 2024 Cadillac XT5 because i liked the many electronic and mechancial safety features and because the price with a good offer for the trade in, some discounts and a rebate was about equal to that for a new middle or the line Ford Explorer. BUT, upon delivery many of the electronic features were not working and the sales rep, even after 90 minutes in the right front seat could not make things rights. Two return trips to the dealership made no progress. It was only when I employed a software person not associated with General Motors that we got things working. In all of this I made two mistakes. One, I should have refused to take delivery when the car was not working properly. Two, after three sessions at the dealer did not fix things i should have contacted the General Motors folks and reported a lemon of a car. read more

I bought a brand new XT5 The day before Thanksgiving weekend from Patric Chevrolet in Schaumburg, Il. On the way home the transmission went out at 139 miles. They towed it to Sullivan-Parkhill for service. That has been 44 days ago. I have tried numerous times to contact service. I get the recording from both the service manager and Tim but they never return my call. To me, that's about the rudest inaction I've seen. Siri gives this place 2 1/2 stars and I can see why. Sullivan's is no longer owned my local owners who care about doing business correctly and fairly. It is owned by Napletons, which scams people. Look up how many lawsuits they have before purchasing. My family had bought multiple brand new vehicles from Sullivans over the last 20 years, and we will never purchase one again. They do not stand behind their warranties or their service. They also will not tell you if the issue is covered by warranty until you pay them to inspect it, knowing you will just be given them the inspection money. I have multiple issues with my newest vehicle purchase, and it was supposed to have a certified warranty. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS WARRANTY WILL HELP YOU. last time they told me I needed a new battery and wanted me to pay $350 for it not realizing I had the warranty and then once I asked about the warranty covering it, they told me only if I was stranded even though they knew it was working under 60%. Then the service tech changed his story and informed me he was new and the battery wasn't really that bad. Well, it was bad enough for you to request me to change it when you thought I was paying for it. Today I had another shop look at the vehicle because I don't trust Sullivans and I was informed that I needed new rear trailing links I simply called Sullivans to see if that would be covered under my warranty if they found the same thing to be true. They refuse to tell me that such an expense would even be covered until I paid them and Inseption few out of pocket. We bought our first car as a newly married couple 28 years ago from Dave Parkhill. I now have a 2005 Mercedes convertible and have brought it in for regular maintenance. WHERE IS K.T.? The first time I brought the little car in, he greeted me with a welcome and a smile. A few visits later, he was not in the service dept. and the gentlemen now in that "check-in" area are unfriendly, unwelcoming and seem to think that I don't know what is needed on my own car. I've since learned to ask for K.T. to come in the service bay so that i could explain it to him, and he, in turn, would tell Jeff (or whomever is sitting behind the service counter) what the situation is. I found out that K.T. is now at the GM dealership, and I won't be bringing my little Mercedes back to Sullivan-Parkhill because I do not appreciate being treated with the disrespect that is so common when a woman brings a vehicle in for service, which is what has happened since K.T. is gone. Joe Reynhout was less than pleasant and/or helpful the last time I was there. I have recently heard about some distasteful and unprofessional comments he has made to customers and/or other employees of ethnic decent. I would certainly expect more from this dealership, or any business, for that matter. We began a relationship with Sullivan-Parkhill in approximately 1988, I have never heard such unprofessional and cruel comments out of an employee and/or manager and I will not be back. As long as K.T. is not at this location to assist with my Mercedes service needs in the kind and professional manner, we will go elsewhere. No other service person has treated me as a PERSON (not a "woman in a mans world") the way K.T. did. What a loss for this dealership. read more

I brought my car here because I thought I could trust that the mechanics and service advisors knew what they were doing, but that was a joke. My car had rodent damage to the wires and wouldn't start. I had my car towed here to be fixed. They claimed they fixed the issue and charged me over $700. A day later and my car sounded like crap. Took my car back and they told me they needed more time to look at it and to bring it back the next week. I brought my car back just for them to try and charge me over $800 and claimed it was the starter. My starter was BRAND NEW. Just because it was aftermarket doesn't mean shit. Took my car to a certified mechanic and guess what, the Sullivan mechanic not only shorted my brand new starter causing it to run like shit but completley messed up the wiring and wiring harness in my car. Congratulations you got my car started, but screwed up everything else in the process and can't even own up to your mistake. I want my money back. This place is a freaking joke read more

We were lied to repeatedly about how long it would take and how much it would cost to diagnose, the customer service manager was both rude and unhelpful, and they tried to charge three times as much as the Chevy dealership in Bloomington to do the same job. This is definitely the worst Mercedes Dealership I've been to. I always go to a location in Chicago, but I needed a service that couldn't wait. I stopped in here today - I explained that a strange smell has been coming from the AC, Aaron said it was most likely the cabin filter. I didn't want them to assume that's what it was and charge me for that not knowing whether or not it would be that, so I asked if he could run a diagnosis check, he said yes and that it would be $130 alone for a diagnosis check and if it ended up being the cabin filter then that would be $150. I definitely wasn't okay with this back and forth so he said he'd check if it was the cabin filter and if it was, he wouldn't charge me for the "diagnosis". I've only been to this location 2 other times because I truly hate it. I'm from California and that's where I purchased my car and it is quite astonishing the contrast in customer service. I know in the past I've interacted with Joe and he was just as terrible. Anyway, I walk out to my car and it had been "washed" but was still dripping wet, which could cause water spots, and not vacuumed at all. It wasn't even washed correctly as there was still gunk on the windshield. They must have very high daily revenue caps that they can't meet. Change the gross profit expectations before trying to cheat people out of their money, especially if you want continued customer support. read more

I bought my car here back in 2011, I did my yearly maintenance every year here until a couple days ago. TL;DR: They waste your time and overcharge you, don't go. I am done with them. I will never use their service any more. They used to have two old technicians that were excellent, but the two new young ones are terrible. I had my engine air filter replaced and the whole vehicle inspected. The next day on my way to Chicago the check engine light went on, for the first time ever for my vehicle. I had a OBDII scanner with me so I scanned and the error code P0128 indicated the coolant thermostat stuck open. I googled and learnt that the thermostat is located right next to the engine air filter. I had to go back to them to let them fix the issue. They told me "they scanned and found no issue, and test drive does not trigger the light again". And yet they charged me 60 bucks for the scan. I also did my brakes with them, and when I called I mention I would like both front and rear brakes replaced AT THE SAME TIME. I actually called twice to make sure I don't have to go there twice to do it, and they told me they have it noted on my profile. And yet when I got my car back, they only did the rear, and two days later I got an email telling me to go there again for the front brakes. read more

I went in to have a flat repaired. I explained how I came to have a flat tire. When the counter person took a look at the tire, he said that more than likely the tire would need to be replaced. When he came back and said that they patched the flat, I was mildly concerned but inquired to make sure they checked everything and was assured they had. The next day, my tire was low but I thought perhaps they just didn't fully inflate the tire. The next day both passenger side tires were extremely low so I filled them. This happened for a couple more days. I finally went to Sam's last weekend to have the tires replaced or repaired because clearly the patch did not work. I was told that for the front passenger tire, by law, they could not put that back on my vehicle as it would be very dangerous to drive on that tire due to the sidewall damage. I am now going to another tire repair business to have my tires replaced. read more

Buyer beware. We bought a used Volve S40 2.4I A from Sullivan Parkhill. The salesman assured us the car was in good condition and had never been in an accident. We had it in to service a number of times. Noticed that the the glove compartment would never really close. We also kept hearing this strange sound on the right side of the car when we turned the wheel. Other car interior material also would come loose on the right side. Brought the car in and repeatedly asked if they were sure nothing had happened to the car because something on the right side of the car doesn't seem right. They said that nothing had happened. We finally got smart and got a CarFax Report and found out that the car had been in an accident. It had been hit on the right side. The vehicle had been disabled and towed. Soon after it was sold at auction at then brought to Sullivan Parkhill and sold to us as a car in good condition. Obviously, get a CarFax Report before you buy because you cannot trust a Sullivan Parkhill salesperson to tell you the truth. read more

Well let's start off with this. I own a 2013 Cadillac ATS that needed to get its Driver Assistance Serviced. Like any other dealer, Sullivan charges a flat rate of $105 to even look if there's a problem with the vehicle (if they find an issue, $105 will go towards resolving the issue). While I was there, I asked Chuck (I believe that's his name) if he could also realign my headlights since it should be an easy thing to do and patch up a leak in my rear left tire since it kept losing air. He said yea they can do it. Well an hour passes and Chuck calls me to tell me he's diagnosed the issue. It would cost $600+ to fix the issue. Personally I'm not surprised it would cost this much since I knew a Cadillac would be costly to maintain. But what angered me was the fact he said, and I quote, "we can't readjust your headlights since ATS's have intelligent beams that realign themselves every time you start your car." So I said basically your telling me it's impossible to readjust/realign your headlights. Seems like a silly manufacturing decision on Cadillac wouldn't you think? He said yes it is impossible. So I said ok, were you able to find the leak in my left rear tire? He said no. "Our technicians ran it through a program and put it in a dunk test and didn't find ANY leaks." Now I know that's impossible because I constantly lose around 6PSI every night after I park outside and get into the car next morning. Because of their poor performance, there was no way I was going to cough up $600+ dollars to get ANYTHING serviced. I told them it's fine and that's how I basically wasted $105 on nothing. The next day, my friend recommended me to see Midas and told me they do small adjustments and check ups for free. So I went to Midas and explained the situation. I wanted to get my headlights realigned and I wanted to patch up whatever is causing my left rear tire to lose air. They took 5 minutes and readjusted my headlights for free. Next they took 15 minutes and figured out there was an issue with my left rear valve stem. I asked them how did they adjust my headlights since I thought it was impossible to realign. The mechanic told me, "don't be ridiculous, Cadillac would never make a car that's lights can't be manually readjusted." Also he pointed out there's a specific portion of the Owners Manual that tells you how to manually readjust your lights! Moral of the story, don't shy away from stores such as Midas and think higher end stores like Sullivan are more qualified to fix your vehicle. In my case, either Sullivan is completely under-qualified or unbelievably lazy to even check if there's an issue. Consider me a loyal member of Midas. read more

I have been here three times for service and for each one the staff was exceptional and the service was prompt and effective. The entire process is very professional and no-nonsense. They are busy, so be patient, but they are cognizant of your time and don't mess around. A nice additional convenience is the ride service to drop you off and pick you up in town for longer service items. I'm a student with a busy schedule so it was very nice to be able to go straight from the dealership to campus and vice versa. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

where to start? i was involved in a car accident in may, and since my car insurance's preferred body shop was located at sullivan's... i brought my car there. it wouldn't have been my first choice, but i also didn't want to complicate matters by taking it to an unauthorized shop. bottom line? i should have taken it to an unauthorized shop and dealt with whatever trouble it brought, because it couldn't have been a bigger pain in the ass than this situation. i had been t-boned by some idiot trying to make a left turn across several lanes of busy traffic. he missed. he left turned right into the side of my car, causing over $9300 worth of damage to my vehicle. i thought this would have been a fairly easy case of my car being a total loss. i was wrong, and i believe i was wrong because i took my car to a preferred shop. the shop stands to make a lot of money by repairing my vehicle, and my insurance company keeps itself from having to pay out to replace my vehicle. sure, my car is only worth $14,000... but $9300 is a savings to them in this case. sullivans makes some serious bank. my insurance company saves a couple bills. every one wins.... well, not everyone. my car sustained pretty gnarly damage to the front passengers side. the impact was hard enough to cause all the passenger side airbags to deploy. i could not get my passengers side doors open at all. the wheel well on the front passengers side was toast as well. i got a call just ten days after the accident saying the work was complete, and i could come and pick it up. i was really skeptical. i saw what it looked like, and no matter how awesome the mechanic and body shop is... it was never going to be the same. the outside looked spotless though. it was a great paint job and the new doors on the passengers side were seamlessly done. the interior damage was repaired well enough that i wouldn't have been able to tell it was involved in the sort of accident it was. the minute i turned the key though... i knew. things weren't right. i should have walked right back in and handed them my keys, and said, "naw. this ain't gonna work. you need to look at it again." i didn't though. my husband assured me it was fine and that i was used to driving the rental vehicle (which drove differently. not better or worse. just different). i drove off the lot and home. the idle was rough. not like it had been pre-accident. too rough for a car less than 2 years old. i parked in the drive for the night, waiting for the other shoe to drop. don't worry. it did drop. the next day. i had set my alarm to head to the gym early. i walked out, attempted to start my car... and nothing. it would not turn over. a bunch of clicks.... and a shit load of irritation. i called up sullivan's to get them to fix the problem, and they sent out two guys to jump it and drive it back to the shop, where it was determined that battery was just "bad". they were kind enough to drive it back to me once the new battery was replaced so i didn't have shlepp a willful toddler across town on a bus. i now wait with bated breath for the next problem to arise. the manager of the body shop is a nice guy. he has been helpful and courteous. he sounds like sam sheppard on the phone. neither a plus nor a minus. just an aside. seriously, a nice guy.... but g-d help you if you get your call answered by any of the other guys in the body shop. one guy was so rude he cut me off.... TWICE.... MID SENTENCE. he also misused a lot of words. common. english words. it was like trying to decipher Wind Talker code. if i had to pick places to take my car... this would not have been at the top of my list. i feel like i have been royally taken advantage of. i might even be able to get over the initial dirty feeling of being bent over without so much as a peck on the cheek IF my car had been properly fixed. read more

Service was condescending and yelled at me when inquiring about a life-threatening recall. I'll take my service elsewhere

I needed service on my car for the first time since moving to the area. I could not be more satisfied with the choice to take it to Sullivan-Parkhill. It was taken care of quickly and at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed with everyone who I spoke to, especially Paula from the service department. The ride service to drop you off and pick you up when you leave your car there was so convenient and just added to the positive experience. Service locks door 15 minutes before stated closing time. Employees seem annoyed by your presence. Waited four days for parts. Repairs were satisfactory as was the price charged. Won't be taking my vehicles here in the future based on the attitude of the service desk staff (the mechanic I dealt with was very friendly) and the long wait for the repair. read more

If you are having car trouble, you are also probably having a bad day. Paula in service made my bad day suck a lot less. She was helpful, informative, and her customer service was on point. They have someone who can take you and pick you up anywhere in Chambana for free while your car is being worked on. Also, they have coupons online for service...USE THEM! I saved $50. I will be going back to Sullivan Parkhill for everything now. I am very pleased with the customer service I received and I definitely recommend the service department. read more

Our Saturn car had a light on the dash that said, "Check Engine Coolant". It was also hard to start. We took it to Sullivan-Parkhill and they charged us $99 to say that our spark plug wires, coils (2), and ignition control module were bad and needed to be replaced. They also said there was corrosion (though other mechanics said it was merely cosmetic). Lastly they said our ECM might need to be replaced. They then said they would start by replacing these three items (~$1000) with no guarantee that this would fix the problem!!! A local shop mechanic said that these cars were notorious for a coolant temp sensor going bad (jee, isn't that what the dash was hinting at and the dealership failed to see!). He measure the sensor and replaced it - for $10 dollars!! Imagine if some old lady or someone gullible had gone to Sullivan-Parkhill. These kind of crooks should be stopped! read more
