I can't say enough great things about everyone at the Newton location, the team did an amazing job on my Volvo!!! It is old but well-loved, and the two rear tires were stuck when I brought it in for the tires to be rotated. One tire loosened up enough after 24 hours (yes, that long) of soaking in a special solution to come off, and the other needed an extra 1.5 days (nothing says New England salt/snow like that!) to soak off. Ozzie and Jordan kept me updated the entire time, and I knew exactly how much new parts would cost "if" one or both tires needed to come off and the old bolts underneath broke. So many places would not have taken the time to do what they did, but they got it done without any damage!!!! Everyone, make sure to get your tires rotated every 6 months and whether you take my advice or not, be sure to get to the Newton Sullivan Tire location!! read more

I was in a bind with a completely flat tire on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The crew at Sullivan Tire stayed past closing time to pull off a miracle to get me moving again! My stupid tire is one of those that is hard to find and very specific, and they were able to track one down, get it sent in, and fixed quicky while I waited - I had a big commitment on Sunday that I needed a car for and they totally helped me get there. In addition, their staff was so nice and friendly - they even brought the tire to me to show me how it failed and what I need to watch out for in the future to make sure it doesn't happen again (alignment issue) - and didn't even complain about staying past 5. The first time I visited, I had been told by my car dealer that one of my tires had become "compromised" and that it needed to be replaced. I came to your shop for a second opinion - and your staff member graciously came out to my car to check the tire, and pulled a piece of plastic out of the tread. He looked at the tire and confirmed it was completely fine! After that, in January 2024 when I needed all new tires and an oil change - I came to your shop and was treated with the same honesty. Wow, experience was excellent compared to what I have experienced at two or three other tire providers I won't mention . Called looking for 2 specific tires and told would have next day? Wow... made appointment. Both guys running the front desk both excellent to deal with. I explained issues I had at other tire dealer with auto . I waited for the tires install, alignment ad well. The job was complete in short time ; I was expecting an all day ordeal like other places. Technician did excellent install and no damages to rims I had at other places. Prices were very fair and better than quoted from other places.... Bottom line is ; this is where I will be bringing our autos every time here on in. I wasn't going to bother writing a review but I just happened to see a Sullivan tire commercial and it brought back a lot of anger from my dealing with this shop . I was pretty shaken after hitting an object on the road that blew two of my tires . I was towed to the shop were the first gentleman was nice and had tires brought from another shop . He was done with his shift and left . After they examined my car the other worker informed me that my rims were damaged, gave me a quote and told me he would have to order them then proceeded to pitch me more work explaining my brakes were not safe . I stopped him right there saying I didnt want to discuss the brakes but he kept interrupting me talking about brakes, safety etc. I told him I needed a mn ( again I was pretty shaken up ) and I needed to examine my options since I lived 30 mn from there but he kept on raising his voice letting me know that he needed to let the only person that was working in the back know if they should put the car back together and bring it down . This back and forth went on for a good 5 mn with at that point both our voices raised . Again I asked him for a mn to make phone calls . At that point I felt angry and really uncomfortable and my back against the wall . He finally went into another room and I quickly made arrangements to get my car towed to another place . This was an emergency situation and not I am getting a sale pitch for extra work .Very poor customer service. Absolutely unacceptable when you just had a pretty bad thing happening to you. I spoke with a sales person at Sullivan on Saturday, April 27, and ordered a tire that I was told would be delivered the following Tuesday and that I would be called, as soon as, it came in. Fast forward to Tuesday 5:00 PM ... I heard nothing so I called to check. The person answering the phone asked my name...I told him who I had been dealing with and was told twice he will call you right back. Needless to say one week after placing the order I have never received a call back from anyone. Not to say that the tire came in or wasn't available...nothing. If there was a zero star rating I would have given it. Sullivan should be ashamed and embarrassed at this type of customer service. I have a few vehicles and am also very active in the local automotive scene. Do you think I would ever recommend this location? I am sure many have had good experiences here, but for me ... rated F. I selected the tires I wanted and scheduled an appointment on their website. There was an option for curbside dropoff and pickup, and I selected that option. The confirmation email I received said to call upon arrival, select Option 2, and someone would meet me outside - very convenient during covid. I called the number in the email, and there was no Option 2. I was disconnected so I called again. I had reached a call center, and they transferred me to the Newton location. I told the gentleman I was outside to drop off the car, and he said, "Are you going to bring the keys inside? If not, you can leave them in the car." I brought them inside, as he seemed to have no knowledge of the curbside dropoff process. I was buying 4 new tires, and they called me to say the car was ready after a couple of hours. I paid, and when I started my car, the dash showed an alert saying to check the tire pressure in the front tires. I went back inside to tell them. The gentleman took the car back inside, and found that one of the tire sensors was corroded and needed replacing. The other front tire needed more air. It's a mystery to me why they did not see this alert when moving my car to the parking lot. All in all, the price for the tires was good, compared to other places, but the service could have been better. read more

I made an appointment for an alignment and an oil change. We discussed me dropping the car off first thing in the morning and having it done by 2 PM. I went to drop the car off today and they had no record of me or my appointment. I showed them the three minute phone call I had with them on Monday. They still weren't able to fit me in and have my car back before 6 o'clock. Very disappointed how this went down. I ended up going to Ford and they took me as a walk-in. read more

They confirmed that they will put two new tires in the front and and remaining two good tires in the back so it balances well. we are 45 mins away from this store and today when we went to pick our car, both two new tires were in same side rather being in front. they asked us to come back on Monday to fix it. driving back again on Monday, taking off from work on a working day is too much of inconvenience. read more

Brought my Jeep in there for a specific problem and received a laundry list of 'danger' items that needed to be fixed - that was fine, it's not hard to imagine that an older car would need some additional repairs, so I agreed and decided to phase them out over two weekends. When I picked my car up after the first phase, there was zero difference in the car - the breaks which were 'fixed" still sounded and felt the same and a tail light that was 'replaced' still didn't work (didn't notice until that night when someone else told me). Additionally, the car was filthy and there was grease all over the steering wheel and leather seats. Needless to say I didn't bring it back for phase two and can't imagine heading back there again...maybe they should just stick to tires. read more

Had a basic tire leak, was charged $30 and had to wait until late the next day to get such a simple fix. Never have I been charged for it nor have I ever not been able to get it done quickly. I asked them for a front and rear brake pad replacement quote and they told me rotor change was necessary and the total would be $1200. I got my pads done elsewhere for $300 and it would've been $750 if I did rotors too at the other shop. These guys are a factory -- customer service and value are not their strengths. 11/30/2019: Went in with a tire pressure warning light on. Sullivan tire recommended that one tire be repaired and also recommended replacing the air filter and cabin air filter; they also told me that the brake fluid was gray and should be flushed, that otherwise my ABS might not function properly. I said to yes to all of the above. $245.47 When I picked up the car, the first time I tried to start the car, it would not start, but the second time it did. I had not had this problem before. The next day, my car would not start. I called Sullivan Tire and they said that it could be the alternator, and is probably unrelated to any work they did. Fortunately AAA was able to start my car and suggested that the battery be looked at. Sullivan Tire replaced my battery and did not charge me for labor. $124.65 12/14/2019 update: The tire pressure light came back on a week after one tire was repaired. I took my car back in today to Sullivan Tire and was told that 2 other tires have a corrosion problem and need to be opened up and cleaned, for about $30 apiece. Seems like they should have noticed this when I took the car in 2 weeks ago after the tire pressure light came on. After speaking with a manager, I learned that today's repair will be done for no charge. I asked a lot of questions about whether the corrosion problem of 2 tires diagnosed today should have been caught when I brought my car in 2 weeks ago with the tire pressure warning light on. The response was no, that Sullivan's standard practice is to do a visual inspection and also check tire pressure, and one tire had low pressure, so only that tire was repaired 2 weeks ago, and that they wouldn't have identified the corrosion issue with 2 other tires. However, Sullivan tire also did enough inspection to recommend replacing 2 air filters and the brake fluid. The manager agreed that the experience that I have had the past 2 weeks could happen again, based on Sullivan's standard operating practices. Good thing that I have unlimited time to keep going back to Sullivan Tire to keep my tires performing (NOT!). read more

I was planning a fairly long trip, and while the only immediate issue was a randomly occurring soft tire every four or five weeks, at nearly 70000 miles on two original tires and around 40000 on the other two, I decided it was time. I parked outside of Sullivan and auto service this weekend for a few minutes to run into the bathroom on my way back to New Jersey where I am from and my car towed this is a complete scam they did not even put any signs up saying that if you parked there that your car it would be towed only on the complete opposite side of the parking lot. I had never been to Sullivan Tire before but while driving got a nail stuck in my tire so I stopped in because it isn't far from my office. Gentlemen at the front desk looks at a photo I took of my tire and says it has to be replaced. I ask how much and he says $240 for a new tire but they don't have it in stock. Good for me because I drove just down the street to the Jeep dealership. Guy takes a look at the same photo and says "oh no problem, I can patch that." $35 later my tire is fine, patched, and I'm back on the road. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Avoid!! read more
