I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the truly unforgettable experience at Sullivan's Steakhouse yesterday evening. I was hosting a professional client for dinner as well as a business meeting. From the moment we arrived, every detail radiated excellence--from the impeccable service of your servers and staff, especially our waiter Keegan to the exquisite quality of the food. It was crystal-clear that excellence was a key ingredient interwoven into everything prepared by the executive chef,Jamaal. The meal was beyond compare, especially the special touch of having anchovy with my Caesar salad -- a detail that made it even more perfect. when I ordered my Caesar salad, I mentioned to our waiter that I really enjoyed ancho fillets in my salad. He initially stated that he wasn't sure they carry a chocolate fillets, but rather include it in the dressing. Nonetheless, the waiter Keegan took the time to approach the chef and ask about my request for an ingredients I truly enjoyed. To my astonishment and delight, the anchovy fillets appeared along with my Caesar salad! Your entire staff's attention to the finer touches truly made us feel welcomed and valued, a reflection of your mastery and genuine care regarding your dining clientele. Everyone worked seamlessly to create an atmosphere that emphasized receiving special attention and high-level, VIP care as well as warmth. It was an absolute pleasure, and I am grateful for the special memories created that day. I look forward to returning soon! We came here during our trip to Alaska, happy to check out a place that was just a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Plus, we had a gift card, so double win. Service was sorely lacking, and staff weren't all that friendly at all. I don't require red carpet service, but the vibe was definitely more along the lines of "what do you want, order and leave us alone." Yikes. To keep things on the less expensive side, we mainly ordered from the happy hour menu, and thought we'd go tapas style, order a few things to share. Food was ok, but some of the flavors were a bit off, so a couple of items were sent back and we ordered something else instead. The crab fried rice was pretty tasty, I do recommend that. Even when we needed something (utensils or sauces), it took ages to get it--and this was often after the servers had failed to bring it with our food. This was just not a good visit overall. We opted to sit in the bar area hoping it would lead to decent service (that's usually our experience when sitting in the bar area), but NOPE. We used to have a Sullivan's in my city, and I was bummed when it closed; this location just made me sad. I don't know if the lackadaisical attitude is because they don't care about visitors they don't expect to see again or what, but a little friendliness goes a long way. I can deal with lackluster food or subpar service, but it's really hard to get both and leave feeling satisfied. $50 gift card wasted, but lesson learned. As always, I grade the food first... Five stars for a fantastic steak and wedge salad. I asked for my steak to be cooked, medium-rare and charred on the outside. It was exactly how I asked. The restaurant was very clean, and had the feel and ambience of a Capital Grill or Ruth's Chris. The wine list was decent, although wines by the glass were limited. The service was OK. For a high-end steakhouse, the wait staff should be career servers. I walked into Sullivan's Steakhouse in Anchorage on Thanksgiving, fully expecting to be welcomed especially since their posted hours say they're open until 11. The restaurant was lively, the bar was packed, and it was obvious that service was still in full swing. Nothing about the atmosphere suggested they were closing early or winding things down. Despite this, I was immediately told they were "closed," and the interaction felt more like someone trying to cut me off at the door than giving an honest explanation. It was disappointing, especially considering that the place was still operating as usual and serving everyone already inside. If an establishment is truly closing early for the holiday, that's understandable but at least make it clear or adjust the posted hours so customers aren't misled. Instead, it came across as rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. Being turned away while the restaurant is clearly open doesn't just feel unwelcoming it feels like the opposite of hospitality. This was not the experience I expected from a place with Sullivan's reputation, and it honestly left a bad taste before I ever got a bite. read more

Honestly this place isnt it for dinner. You can get cheaper better steak elsewhere. No reason for this place to be $100 per person. Again, we had the Costco gift cards. This time we came on a mo day for a date night on a whim. We sat at a booth right next to the kitchen. I got the lobster bisque. It was not as rich and creamy as some local places. My passionfruit martini was not full to the brim when served. I had to send my steak back. I ordered it medium. It was charred on the outside and raw in the middle. Like it was still red and marbled. A different waitress walked by and looked confused asking if that was how I wanted it cooked? I said no. It came back better inside and more black on the outside. The lobster mashed potatoes also had shell bits in it. The baked potato was huge and good. Needed more toppings. read more

Went to Sullivan's last weekend for some Mommy and Daddy time. We love it there, we usually sit at the bar side because of the Ambiance :). Giving it 4 stars because we thought there would be live music, should've checked ahead of time. And some of the food was ok, not great. Our favorite was the Oyster Rockefeller, Lamb (get 2!) Seared Ahi tuna, and Eggrolls which was complementary. Matt was awesome and gave us such great service. Drinks were STRONG! I am not complaining haha we will definitely go back again. I was greeted by a very sweet hostess and decided to sit at the bar after browsing the menu. The ambiance was welcoming, and I was assisted right away. Noah and the staff were incredibly helpful and patient, especially since it was my first time dining here. Noah took the time to explain the cooking preferences for the ribeye, which made it much easier for me to finalize my choice. I started with a salad, which was decent, though the croutons were a little stale. For my main, I ordered the Cajun ribeye with garlic potatoes and creamed spinach. I had the Cajun ribeye cooked, medium rare it was cooked to perfection. The asparagus was great. I love to see the pieces of garlic. Josie was my server and was great with the menu knowledge. She recommended the smoked old-fashioned. And I was surprised how it came in the smoke box. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Even the managers stopped by and checked on the service not once but in the middle of service and at the end of it thanks Mike and Jay. They offered a bottle for $120 with no discount. Took 30 minutes to get a glass of wine. Took another 40 minutes to get our meal. Surprise, they were out of baked potatoes. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Sullivan's Steakhouse was so disappointing that it deserves to be shared. We were there for three hours, and nearly the first full hour was just waiting for salads. For a Thanksgiving meal with a set, advertised holiday menu, the pacing made absolutely no sense. It felt like the kitchen was completely unprepared, which set the tone for what became an incredibly disappointing evening. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, and both the portion sizes and presentation looked more like fast food than a steakhouse. What made everything even more concerning was the fact that--for a fixed Thanksgiving menu--they were somehow out of 3 of the 4 sides, out of 3 of the 4 desserts, and even out of bread early in the evening. We only learned about the bread being out when it simply never arrived. We also had to ask for basic water refills throughout the night. One of the most alarming parts: a portion of my turkey was uncooked, and when we raised it with the staff, we were told it was "skin." It absolutely was not. We also ordered an extra side that came out wrong, and by the time it was corrected, the rest of our meal was long finished. The restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold, which only added to the sense that things just weren't being attended to. There were no mocktail options, and when we asked if they could make one of the alcoholic drinks non-alcoholic, no effort was made to offer any alternatives. For a restaurant at this price point--on a major holiday, with a planned and predictable menu--I can't imagine how they could be so unprepared so early in the evening. It felt like a cascade of preventable issues, all pointing to a lack of readiness and care. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in a long time, and unfortunately we won't be returning. read more

So when is first opened this place was the best in town and the food was worth talking about. It hasn't been like that in years. The best part of dinner was the bread. My chicken was hard to chew and dry with mediocre mashed potato's. We got a $65 steak was brought out to us with the butter we didn't ask for because the kind we asked for was out. Ordered an appetizer... 45 minutes later bartender told us they actually ran out of that appetizer, and that he had no idea. Meanwhile. Some lady In the bar was screaming at her server. About her food. I quietly reminded her the server is doing everything she can to get you everything you need. The management is failing their staff. Clearly. Not to mention. This is a fancy looking place that seems a bit mismatched. First off, what kind of expensive, fine dining restaurant runs out of shrimp and oysters. You're in an area with a plethora of seafood. The service seemed ok. The server was a little unorganized, said he would come back to see if we wanted appetizers but instead went straight to entrees. He wasn't familiar with the wine list but did mention the special after we asked. When the waiter poured the wine, he didn't decant the wine and sediment ended up in everyone's glass of wine. The decor is nice, but I guess I'm used to quieter fine dining restaurants when they charge $70-$100 for a steak. The lights are dimmed down and it definitely adds positively to the atmosphere. However, the dimmed lights are quickly overwhelmed by the heavy smokiness coming from the kitchen to the point where you start developing a headache. It ends up smelling like burning onion rings. For a restaurant so big, they have a really small kitchen and only 3 cooks in the back. The cooks kept bumping into each other. I can't imagine what it's like when the restaurant is busy. The calamari was like a plain breaded calamari with a bunch of sweet chili sauce poured on top. Something you'd get a like a diner. They ran out of the Tomahawk Ribeye, but upgraded us to the Dry aged Wagyu. It took over an hour to get our steaks after the appetizers. After we got our steaks, every single one was cooked differently than what we ordered Not really sure what was going on here, maybe they had a bad day. However, other yelpers seem to be having similar issues with the service. Maybe the waiters need to be retrained. Who knows. There was just a bunch of excuses of why service was subpar. read more

Went to Sullivan's for new years eve dinner. At 6:30 they were already out of 4 of the main items. Our 3 appetizers came out a little slow but not bad, they were hot and pretty good. Our drinks took 30 minutes. After the appetizers we asked for bread which came warm and toasted, delicious. Just when our meals were to come out, the server let us know that one of the meals was no longer available. We finally got our main course two hours and fifteen minutes after being seated. The two new york steaks were not very good quality, very fatty. The lobster stuffed shrimp plates were barely warm. We ordered six different sides that came out at all different times. And we had to keep reminding our server about missing drinks. The lamb chop dinner was the best one served. We ordered desserts and notified our server that if they weren't started to cancel as it was over 30 minutes for those as well. For starters the location is a great spot if you're looking for that vibrant, downtown, big city restaurant feel. It's giving NYC. It's giving Frank Sinatra rat pack vibes or like Chicago type stuff. I love how it sits on the corner of 2 major streets and the huge windows with the view, FANTASTIC. Let's talk food. Try the lobster bisque with generous pieces of lobster inside. The ceaser salad was fresh and had great flavor. Hibiscus martini was delicious but the glass could have been filled more tbh. My goodness the NY prime steak was cooked to perfection and the flavors were sending me! Delicious mash with a yummy gravy was a nice side. They have a ton of appetizer options, we tried the beef wellington puff pastries and I do recommend you lick the plate cause the sauce is everything! For dessert the banana foster bread pudding is enough to share and hits the sweet tooth. Service was good, not great but good. The bathrooms needed some attention so 10 demerits for that. Let's start with the service...I sat at the bar and I was offered a menu right from the get go. Brynn who works behind the bar was on it. Brian was okay. I ordered the Ribeye med. rare with lobster tail, and loaded baked potatoes with the salted skin. It took a while but that was okay because I was offered more wine by Brynn. When the food came out, I was excited. The Ribeye unfortunately was over done to a medium and was a bit tough. The baked potatoe was rather small and the condiments were rather skimpy except for the sour cream. It wasn't loaded as I ordered it. No chives, very little bacon, and hardly any cheese. The potatoe was good but I just wished it had more of the loaded portion. The lobster tail was done to perfection. I also ordered the Banana Foster Bread Pudding for dessert. The presentation was good but the taste was okay. The texture was too dense for my liking. The atmosphere was great, good music, just observing the other wait staff, they seem friendly and on it. Overall its an okay place to go. Prices are around where it should be for a steakhouse. $180 for steak and lobster, baked potato, dessert, and 2 glass of wine. read more

Went in today to hopefully get it resolved was basically threatened by a manager in training named Mike who said we could take it outside and that I was no longer welcome there. Be prepared to spend. I had a giftcard, which would cover roughly one main entree on a date night. I wasn't too impressed with the food, but.. the drinks and bartending service was wonderful! The oysters we ordered were so small and one out of the 1/2 dozen was unfortunately not too fresh. Then there's the spicy shrimp eggrolls which was meh-- the eggrolls exterior was too thick and flaky, not much of the filling for what? $16. Now.. I stuck to the chef-inspired bar meals and tried out their martinis while hubs got the 3 course meal for around.. so Delicious! Our steaks were perfectly cooked the way we liked it. The strawberry cheesecake was nothing fascinating and tasted store bought. I'd still go again for the terrific drinks! It was busy, but the bar service was kind, quick, and attentive! read more

From the beginning it was weird. The hostess would have rather took the time to go dump the garbage and do something else besides just seat us at a table. So we had to wait several minutes for her to come. Ok whatever. Some guy came over and filled our waters and I thought maybe that was one of his jobs but no he was just another waiter and never spoke to him again after that. He did inform us that our waitress was finishing up with a large party and would be over shortly. Eventually she came over and things started off good with her but went south after our main course came out. My martini took a long time to come to the table too. She barely checked on us, waters became empty and the food was SALTY! She was in the other room, talking to other tables and of course running cards at the register. So I waited until she noticed that our waters were empty, sometimes I like to see how long it takes people to notice these basic things. When she finally filled our waters she asked how everything was. I said it was super salty but we were hungry so we ate it anyways and we've been out of water for awhile. The Brussel sprouts were salty, the $145 tomahawk was stupid salty, the lobster was on the cold side and we were out of water. So yeah I was pissy. You're spending $206 on dinner, DO BETTER. Sorry but I have been to high end restaurants in Vegas, Seattle and have had the best service! So I know what it looks like. At least act like you want my money and make us feel special. read more
