Order at the counter they offer kabobs, falafels, salads, and full accompliment of middle eastern faire. Been there a couple times and the owner is there. They serve you a complimentary strong Turkish tea. Stopped by this spot for lunch and the food was a hit! My boyfriend and I got the sultan salad, combo kebab plate, and dumplings. The salad was really refreshing and delicious, it was so simple but the flavors were perfect together. The kebabs are very juicy and flavorful it was perfectly grilled and tasted great with the hummus. The dumplings did take a while to come out but packed a ton of flavor. I couldn't finish it though because the dumpling wrapper was so thick in comparison to the filling. The yogurt was really delicious though and paired well with the dumplings. This place also brings you a cup of hot tea to enjoy your meal with which I enjoyed too. They also have a large selection of sweets to choose from too in their display case so maybe next time I'll check it out! read more

It's a good place. This is a go to place for our family for Mediterranean food and salad. The kebabs and salads are really good even the pita bread is really soft. The only down side was when I took a friend to the restaurant and ask for gluten allergy. The server who was there was not ready to confirm if the lentil soup/ other items has something gluten or not. Would love to have options for Muhammara be spicy, coarse (instead of liquid), and with no added sugar! The lamb shank is the other go to. Tastes good home style. Too many carbs with big scoop of rice, potatoes, add a side of veggies to the dish please. The lamb burger has yet to reach its true potential. Waiting for the WOW factor on the food! My husband was born and raised in Turkiye and is often homesick for Turkish cuisine. As such, we often find ourselves at a local Turkish restaurant on our trips near and far. Sultan Kebab and Falafel in Blackhawk has the best Turkish food I've had in all of California--and I've had it all. The restaurant is stylish, modern, spotless, and you can tell a lot of thought was given to the design. The hospitality is unmatched. It was our first time here and as we felt as welcome as the regulars and there were A LOT of regulars. The menu is accommodating to all and well-focused on grilled proteins and vegetables. They use high-quality ingredients and execute with excellence. We started with muhammara and grilled octopus. The muhammara is irresistible! I'm no expert here and I'm usually lukewarm about muhammara, but oh man I couldn't stop scooping this up with the warm pita. The grilled octopus was absolutely succulent and perfectly cooked. It comes lightly dressed with a house made vinaigrette and is served atop lettuce and tomatoes. The tangy vinaigrette tied all of the components together deliciously. For mains we ordered the lamb doner plate and sultan salad with chicken kebab. The lamb doner plate is outstanding. Chef's kiss for this one! It comes with rice, salad, hummus, and pita bread. The lamb is incredibly succulent especially for doner style preparation. My husband usually likes his doner plates but he raved about this one. Really solid and incredibly delicious. The sultan salad is just like the best salad you can imagine. Honestly. It is so well balanced in its flavor, proportions, and ingredients. This is not one of those afterthought salads that are just on the menu to check a box. This salad... I can't wait to have this salad again! (I know, I also can't believe I just said that about a salad. I fully realize I'm talking about a salad. It's that good!) I'd be amiss if I didn't mention the value. The portions are very generous. If I had the ability to order just one starter, that would be plenty. Half of the doner plate was lamb and the salad came with four (yes, FOUR) chicken kebab skewers. Fittingly, the takeout containers are self-help and you'll want to use them and save room for dessert! Ok, for dessert, we had everything, and it's all to die for. The way the desserts are displayed--you just cannot resist. Be sure to add the Turkish ice cream to whatever you can; it will elevate the experience even more. I've got to say, when I saw the five-star rating for Sultan Kebab & Falafel, I definitely raised an eyebrow. I'm hooked on this place! One thing I like about Sultan Kabob is that I can find healthy options that are really tasty. I've eaten here now five or six times over the last six months. The food and service is very consistent! I always get the chicken kebab. It is skinless boneless chicken that has been marinated and grilled. That's about as healthy a meat entree as you can find in a restaurant. I've also tried their salads, spreads, and their lentil soup. The beet salad is delicious. And I adore the baba ghanoush with its smoky taste and creamy texture. I like that they don't use too much garlic in everything. A lot of places these days use way too much garlic. It upsets my stomach. Sultan Kebab proves the point that you don't need to over-garlic everything just to have flavor. This most recent time I ordered takeout. I usually eat in. I was really happy that they followed my instruction to not put additional olive oil on top of the baba ghanoush and hummus l. I was afraid they would forget. But they didn't. And it was ready fast! (If I had one suggestion to offer, the lentil soup is a bit bland and thin. Maybe that is the Turkish style, but I think it could use some more body and spice.) read more

I have had food at their downtown Danville location and the service there is very good. Also, they don't cook with seed oils the last time I checked. At this Crow Canyon location I asked the man at the counter what type of oils they use to cook their meat, he said he did not know and asked the cook who said they use soybean oil (a seed oil).
