We have eaten here four times. Everything was excellent, every time. The quality of the food is very good. Our favorites were the chidken kebab and the chicken wings. The side dishes that come with the various entrees are also of very high quality and delicious. the rice seems plain to look at, but has a wonderful flavor. The portions are generous. The place was very clean and had a cheerful feel to it. You order at the counter, and your order is brought to your table. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Ambiance was pretty dark and moody on the Saturday night when we came, a few tables were filled with customers, the kitchen seemed busy but still cranked out our plates pretty fast. We've been regulars of Sultan's Kebab for a few years and they're always consistent in price and quality -- we usually order to-go but dined in this time. My daughter's love the salmon kebabs and the lamb kebabs. I'm a big fan of the lamb shank and pretty much everything else on their menu (including the baklava). This time around we ordered tzatziki, lamb shank, salmon kebab and lamb kebab plate. If you want to try something different, give the Iskender kebab a try. The lamp Shawarma is super good... The chicken one is dryer than my shoes :) wow that chicken was terrible! How can you even sell such a dried out food, people here in America don't know what good shawarma is. That chicken can't and shouldn't be called a shawarma! It didn't even had a taste of one. Food is so delicious that I came back a few days later. The combo wrap is phenomenal, and so it's tue fresh salad. Portions are generous. It's all about the details. When dining in, you get a hot cup of tea and your food is served on real plates and silverware. This doesn't feel or taste like fast food. You can tell all of the food is prepared fresh - it takes a little time for your order to arrive but I would rather wait a few extra minutes to get better quality food. We both got the lamb/beef shawarma plate, and shared an order of fries. * Lamb/beef shawarma plate [$15.99, 4.0 stars] -- a very big portion of really good quality sliced meat, not the minced-up bits and formed stuff. Loved the flavor with the side of rice. Salad was minimal with a vinegar-based dressing, and served with the worst hummus I've ever tasted along with some pita bread. Further, it's billed as "Lamb Shawarma", but we asked and were told it's mixed with beef. * Fries [$4, 2.0 stars] -- not fresh as I expected. This were your standard frozen fry and unseasoned to boot. Large portion in a basket, but not worth the calories. Family-owned business that serves Turkish dishes. Assorted kebabs, wraps, sides, and desserts. Their dessert offerings looked amazing and made me feel as if I was back traveling in the Mediterranean. Entrees run from about $11 to $20. I tried the braised lamb shank ($20), and it was tasty and filling, enough for 2 to share. It came with rice and pita bread. The savory tomato-based sauce had sliced carrots, celery, deseeded jalapenos, garlic, and onions. If you want a little kick, they provide a vinegar hot sauce at the table for you to add to the dish too. I spoke to the owner and they have 4 restaurants around the bay. Inside decor for this spot was cute and thoughtful. Painted murals lined the walls. You order and pay at the counter. There is a self-serve water station and to-go boxes available next to the refrigerated drinks. Only thing I didn't like is that they use styrofoam to-go boxes. There are about 7 tables/booths indoors and an outside patio with an additional 5 tables. Parking in this shopping lot can be challenging to find here at times and watch out since some spots are reserved for specific stores. There are signs that they tow cars if parked in the wrong spots. I had been to the Sultan's in Pleasanton a few years ago and swore that I'd never go back. And I haven't. But we walked into this one for a late dinner and were super surprised to find out that it is a new and improved version of the Pleasanton place. It was cozy and inviting. We had to order at the counter and take a seat. They would get 5 stars if they offered table service. The Adana Kebab is a little spicy, but that was just perfect for me. I wished for more hummus. The little ramekin just wasn't enough. The meal was overall delicious, but it did leave us hungry enough to split a dessert. That was also good! read more

Such a treat in a little Danville strip mall. The menu is straight forward and easy to navigate. Like a Trip to Greece!! I had the lamb Sharma over rice with salad. Puts on the side delicious!!! The yogurt sauce and hot sauce were the perfect compliment to the wonderfully cook lamb. My wife had a chicken wrap. Also delicious. My son had the falafel wrap. Very good. I usually get the lamb shawarma and it's super full of flavor and makes for delicious pita and hummus sandwiches. The chicken is good too but I prefer the lamb. Don't forget to use the sauce. The red is pretty spicy but a little bit on the meat in your pita enhances the flavor. The light brown sauce helps to balance the spicy. Can't wait to come back. read more

Falafels are not dry or soggy and instead are crunchy and flavorful (without being hard), hummus is delicious and comes in a generous amount (as does their pita bread), and the plates are honestly just a good deal! Food itself is maybe a 4-4.5 star rating but you really can't beat the value and price!--5 stars overall for that! We ordered from door dash the chicken kebab plate, combo chicken/beef kebab plate, falafel, roasted veggies, and baklava. We normally order from sultans kebab and falafel and honestly I thought this was the same restaurant . The menus are extremely similar, down to the side dishes, prices, and even condiments. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with our order from sultans kebab. We've dined in before (both at the Livermore and Danville locations) and even then our experience was very different. On this occasion, both of our plates had no hummus, the veggies were very undercooked, and the servings of protein were very tiny. Both kebab plates were almost all rice. On the plus side the falafel and baklava were both good. I appreciate that they use pistachios for the baklava - many places will use walnuts instead. My fault for not realizing the restaurants were the same - but nevertheless our experience today was quite subpar. This place was our favorite place to get combo shawarma plate but in our last 3 visits we did not like the food at all. First of all, the amount of the combo meat is reduced a lot and secondly they have changed the lamb+beef gyro of combo to beef only which makes it dry and not tasty. Please go back to lamb+beef gyro instead of beef only gyro because the real tasty gyro is made from lamb and beef mix! Until you fix these issues we are not planning to visit again! read more
