They need to talk less and work more. I smelled a fishy order the whole time. I paid extra for treatment and I didn't get what I wanted but they are quick to ask for a tip at the end of the service. I walked in and asked for a specific color and she immediately said they had it and sat me down. Once it was time to polish my nails all of a sudden they didn't have the color and tried convincing me to get a color I didn't want. At that point I had no choice I just wanted to get out of there. I've been coming here out of habit but honestly I'm done. Last time I asked for a cat eye and ended up waiting forever while they looked for the tool, and what I got didn't even look like cat eye, just basic glitter. This time the e-filing was way too harsh and left my nails weak and sensitive. They soaked my fingers in pure acetone for way too long, it burned and dried out my skin. The nail file was old and worn out, and it felt like they were just trying to make it work instead of using a fresh one. Tools came out of a random drawer, not a clean setup, just sprayed with alcohol and used again. After all of that, I got charged $40 for a basic gel with no design or extras. A fill took 2 hours (with an appointment) a fill should maximum take 1 hour. and she cut / hurt my pinky finger not once, but twice with the same file. She was constantly hurting / burning me with the tools on my nail bed and I told her numerous times it was hurting me. The actual paint part of my nail was done very poorly, and unevenly. I asked her to lay the powder thinly and she laid it down super thick. Super not happy with this experience and will not be going back! Do not recommend for manicures!!!! read more

Mia does amazing job with Gel X nails. I have gone from high end downtown nail shops to surrounding mission valley nail shops such as Boss Nails, Lavender Nails and Le Nails next to Costco and Gel X never lasted more than a week or two. With Mia, I'm able to push my fills for almost a month and she cares a lot about the health of my nails which after switching from acrylics to Gel X, my natural nails are much stronger. Monica, Kim and other ladies who have done my pedicures are very thorough and they take time with massages. I always felt so rested and never rushed. I get Deluxe pedicure (#4) every time and hot stones are included - Price here is unbeatable! I moved away from Mission Valley now but I'm still making my trip here every 3-4 weeks and I know I'm always greeted with kindness and care. I came here for the first time for a pedicure and the lack of cleanliness after the lady started my pedicure really made me feel like I'm for sure getting a toe fungus when I leave here. There was no evidence of new clean tools being used usually they come in a new individually wrapped package. The tech was throwing tools around in her roll cart some of which fell on the floor then used the same tools again on me. She also set tools on the chair next to her that looked equally dirty as the floor. All of the techs were speaking a different language throughout the entire pedicure and not speaking to any of the clients. I will not be returning. This will be my first and last time. I don't know how they pass their health inspections. The price was significantly cheaper than everywhere else, but now I see why. read more

Not only that, it is surrounded by some of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. I get acrylic over my natural nails so I keep them nice and strong. If I ever need to open a soda can I just pop the top ha ha The shop has cute decor with beautiful green glass lamps over every nail desk. The prices are awesome. I have to say for the great quality of work that they provide and a good service you cannot beat it! My fill cost me $25 and that was including the OPI gel!!! Not only does the quality of service suck but also the way they treat their customers, they lack customer service skills 100%. Cindy which is one of the owners, had a horribly bad attitude after I went to back 6 days later to tell her & show her that two nails had popped off & some of the acrylic was breaking off a few other nails. she only wantwd to replace the missing nails & i mentioned the other were gonna break/fall sooner than later then she asked me what I wanted "her to do about it" and when I asked her to replace the full set she totally got more upset & with a bad attitude/manner (she was tugging at my hands/fingers), she reluctantly re-did my fullset. They refused to let me speak to the manager, wouldn't give me his/her number. Came up looked at my nails, and said I had been scratching my cuticles? My complaint was that the gels never cured(dried) completely and I'd like them removed. The nail tech, was extremely rude, kept interrupting me and refused to help. I am so appalled at how TERRIBLE THE SERVICE is here. They do not give a single care about the clients. I left out that KELLY (who did my nails) stopped in the middle to handle some personal errands like write down her finances right there on the mani table during. My nails are crooked as all heck and there was a layer of gel I had to pry off my skin. F-this place! read more

The pedicure was great! Massage had nice pressure. I got a French and today is 2 weeks and 1 day and they still look fresh. I also opted to get a gel manicure. Let me start by saying I've been bare fingered for some time now. The better part of the past 9 years I've had all types of fun things going on with my nails. 3 years or so ago I ditched the P&W and went au natural with gel. But the last year gel wasn't working as well for me anymore. It could've been a shammy product or improper application but I was maybe get 3... Yes, 3 good days out of a GEL manicure and by 5 they be all chipped or I'd be frustrated and peel them off. My natural nails are long and I've been dying to make them look pretty. Well, like my pedicure, I've gone over 2 weeks and this gel held tight!!! I'm honestly so impressed! If I wanted to, I still had life left but my nails are getting too long. My new favorite salon. Reasonable pricing and when I go, I get enough attention without ever feeling rushed. I wouldn't recommend going on the weekends because it's busier. I usually pop in during the week between 4 and 5. My feet are sensitive and I've had painful experiences at other salons, but here, they listen to me when I ask them to be gentler. They do a great job softening and polishing my feet every time. The color is long-lasting and I've had no problems the last 3 times I've come. They had NO idea how to take off My gel manicure...she filed the tops of my nails so much making them paper thin. Then I had to cut them super short I'm so bummed!!! (I know better & should have stopped her but didn't). Oh & the reason I was even trying a new place was my friend said she Paid $37 & $5 tip....mine was $70 including Tip...Again I know better and should not have Given her a tip, $8 instead of my usual $15. The environment has an air of unhappiness, or maybe it was just the lady doing my nails. After an hour of an upgraded spa pedi plus mani I ended up with thick lumpy polish, polish color and clear coat on my cuticles and fingers and skin hanging off my cuticles. The massage and treatments were not enjoyable. What a waste of money! I do not have the time or patience to go back to get it fixed. On vacation in San Diego I thought I'd treat myself to a manicure. I came in to this nail salon on Nov 15 and asked for a manicure. They sat me down in a pedi chair. I agreed to the pedi after she said she didn't understand. They charged an additional $5 to scrub my calluses?! What? Isn't that why you get a pedicure? She was in a hurry. My manicure was awful. I have dry cuticles still and nail polish is pealing after less than 24 hours. My toes are messed up too. They spoke to each other the entire time in another language which is completely rude. She acted like she was in a race. It was absolutely awful. 34$ for lousy job and lousy service. At my home salon I can get a scrub and hot rock massage included in the pedi price. So disappointed with the service. Don't go here. It was a major disappointment. read more

Not only was this the worst pedicure I've ever had, they give horrible customer service. I've been getting my nails done for 10 years, and this place has got to be one of the worst. The lady who did my nails was not attentive at all, nor skilled. She did everything quickly, and unlike every other place I go to, she completely ignored the start of an ingrown toenail and simply left it there as if she didn't notice. A large reason I get my nails it to keep them clean and healthy. Then she half-assed her job on my dry heels. To top it all off, I was left waiting for a whole thirty minutes after she finished, until I had to say something. I mentioned that my heels were still pretty bad (which has never happened anywhere else), and let her know I could do it myself since she was still working on somebody else. I was met with defensiveness and some serious attitude. They use the cheapest little scrubbers and she would not let me use one that probably costs them less than 50 cents. She then went on to tell me I could go buy one. I couldn't believe it. Then she said she would have had to charge me more to work on my "calluses," to which I said I would have had zero problem paying more. When I finally got up and put on my sandals myself, I was visibly upset. She then tried to smooth things over, but it was a little too late for that. I proceeded to tell her not to worry, I would go to CVS to buy one, like she told me. This place needs to take a class in proper etiquette AND take a Nail 101 course. They're sloppy and their prices are the same as other salons that are far more superior in every aspect. Stay away!!!! read more

I have been going to this salon since they opened many years ago, and to Kelly for even longer! They have changed owners recently and updated the whole salon including the massage chairs.
