Something seriously wrong. How do you mess up waffles and butter? My son told me the butter was bad. I tried it. I can't even describe it. Not sure if it was rancid or if something got mixed into it. My daughter saw our faces and grabbed it because she just had to try it. It was like a bad comedy. Nothing could get that flavor out of our mouths. It took hours to go away. The waffles tasted strange as well - maybe they used the same butter in making the waffles. The service was fast and friendly. read more

Great place! We drove past this place a couple times on our way to Suncadia to play in the snow, each time making note of it as it looked interesting. If you are from out of state and you don't expect $20/plate quality for $12.95, I'd recommend it highly - otherwise go back to Seattle My wife, daughter and I all ate our fill and had leftovers for under $40 and the service was good. I didn't like the fact that the 20% gratuity was added on the bill I honestly wouldn't have given that much of a tip cause of service and food. Here is my first 5 min at the restaurant. 1 star and you'll understand why. We walk in and get seated at our table and we get the menus. All good till now until the waitress turns to prepare the table next to us for a group of people. She drops a knife on the ground while putting the utensils of the table, she picks it up from the unclean messy floor that is below the table, and just puts it back on the table. Worst restaurant experience ever! We stopped for a quick bite to eat before heading home. We had 3 hungry kids with us. It took them a long time to seat us, even though there was no one waiting and open tables. Once seated, they waited and served two tables that came in after us before serving us. We didn't get our food until 50 minutes after arriving and two of the orders were completely wrong - chicken instead of a burger and a kids meal instead of a full spaghetti dinner with the wrong salad. I mean, come on guys! They only corrected one of the meals. Took the wrong salad away and never brought a replacement. I then had to find someone to bring us our bill. I found our waitress having her own dinner. We left after being there for almost 2 hours! Definitely not a "quick bite" stop. We were very irritable to say the least. read more

My kids had the blueberry pancakes which were ok and the chicken fried steak which was also fine they said. I had the turkey, bacon, tomato and swiss cheese on sourdough. How do you screw that up? First it took forever to get the food out. My sandwich was overly greasy and one half of the sandwich was almost naked. There was maybe one or two slices of turkey on the thing to begin with and it was mostly on one half of the sandwich. The menu says the turkey is 'piled' on. Hey, if you're hurtin' for cash then get rid of some stuff on your menu. A few well made things are preferable to a plethora of awfulness. I would rather drive down the mountain and get some decent food in North Bend or wherever than go there. Please...do the same. Oh, one more thing and this does not relate specifically to this place but many others as well. What the heck do they put on toast these days? Is it margarine? It is god-awful. Please. Use. 5 of us went for breakfast on Sunday September 2nd. We were seated right away but took about 15 minutes for someone to take our order. It took another 10 minutes to receive coffee/beverages. 3 of us ordered coffee and the other 2 ordered orange juice. The coffee was OK but one of the orange juice looked watered down. About 10 minutes later we finally caught someone's attention and mentioned the watered down orange juice. The lady immediate knew all about it and said they ran out then offered to replace it with another drink (apple juice or grape fruit juice). Well, OK, but why didn't they say that before watering down the orange juice? Food was just OK. One person in our group had a green blob of something in her eggs. Food was generally cold. My scrambled eggs were room temperature. I almost asked if I could put my plate in their microwave but decided it was best just to get out. My French toast was good but not hot. Sausage and bacon was good, but not hot. Hash browns were done good but again, not hot. We got there at about 8:45 AM. We got out at about 10:15 AM. Not a quick breakfast. They seem family run without additional hired staff thus under staffed. Since they are the only place for miles for breakfast, I might go back but I'd time it very early morning or very late morning in hopes to get better service. read more

After reading reviews we were worried but again, there wasn't many options around that we could find. Service was friendly but they did several things that we consider not normal server etiquette. For instance, took a while to take our order even though we were the only ones in diner, stayed by table while we put money in envelope, and started cleaning table before we had completly left our seats. We stopped here, sat down, & the menu had a variety of asian food, which i love, but not what we want for a pancake place. We asked for an orange juice, & was brought a small little glass. The variety of pancakes were minimal, and I ordered the crepes with lingonberry butter. Husband ordered an omelet. Well, our waiter was nice, but left in his car mid service. Gone for the day. The food was OK, the crepes were good, but nothing to 'yum' about. The lingonberry butter was beyond sour..his omelet looked like a shredded hash brown with some sprinkled cheese on it. The ooey gooey cheese omelets are usually preferred. Anyway, we waited for quite a while for the hostess to help us. The bill was quite high, the juice was $3 & she said that's a large. Anyway.... the only redeemable quality of my recent experience at this restaurant was the pleasant server. he was friendly, pleasant, helpful and accommodating. the food was wretched. if you are a vegetarian, looking for a healthy option or quality food... this is NOT the restaurant for you. pick something up at the fabulous coffee shop next door instead. my mother, sister and i ordered Caesar salads- mine with "bay shrimp," my mothers with chicken and my sister (being a vegetarian) preferred hers without protein and was charged the same amount as ours. Although the Caesar salad in the picture in their menu showed a Caesar salad with croutons, our the salads came without. the lettuce was poor quality; no dark green romaine leaves at all and was brown in some places. my mothers chicken was slimy and my "bay shrimp" was small flavorless frozen shrimp. my uncle was happy with his fried chicken and French fries. the fries were decent. my aunt ordered a meatloaf meal, and was pleased with the meatloaf but it looked overly processed and thinly cut. the meatloaf was served on top of many slices of bread, which she wasn't expecting and a giant heap of instant mashed potatoes covered in gravy. if you're not a foodie and looking for something unhealthy with friendly service, this is the place for you. read more

When I got the bill it had the more expensive item on the bill. I asked to have it changed on the bill and they made excuses and argued with me for 10 minutes. I'm surprised at the reviews. I have spent this weekend here at the Summit Inn and have eaten here three times. Connected to the Inn so very convenient. Even so, perfectly good food, fast service, reasonably priced. It's a pancake house (remember that) and as pancake houses go, it is right there with the best. Very expansive menu. Everyone in my family likes different things and everyone was happy. Breakfast all day is perfect for a ski area. The country fried steak, eggs, and hash browns was yummy after a day of skiing. read more

Without hesitation we pulled into the Summit Pancake House. It was 2 pm and so the place was rather empty. The service was prompt and friendly. We both ordered the house omelet, came with hash browns and toast (breakfast served all day, nice). This was good and filling, a serviceable meal, not quite Denny's or IHOP, but good for what we needed. Other items on the menu include the usual roadhouse fare, breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. This place does the job. It's clean and the food is just fine. There's not much between Cle Elum and North Bend so if your stomach is growling you'll do well to stop here for a quick and filling meal. Also, check out the hotel lobby right next door. They have an interesting collection of Washington petrified wood and minerals. read more

Eek! Methinks Not even worth 1 star!! This place is horrible. We ate there on 8/18/12 for breakfast and I was shocked at how horrible the service was and how cheap the food tasted. When we sat down, it took forever for the waitress to slowly walk over and offer us menus. We ordered a hot tea and an apple juice and placed our order. I had to remind her that we needed our drinks and when they arrived, the hot tea was a Lipton bag....no other choice and the apple juice tasted way to sweet and had strange foam at the top, we pushed it aside. I really doubt that any of the food was fresh. I have a feeling that the owner looked for the cheapest vendor for his ingredients and pulls everything out of a bag or box. The Owner has no business in the restaurant industry!!!! I recommend you choose another option for dining, lets say the gas station next door perhaps!!!! read more
