It's sad for me because I like this place. But. . . this is unacceptable. Management was made aware of this and took the affected sushi off of the buffet. Unfortunately when there is one roach found so blatantly in the open on the food during the lunch rush . . . Needless to say we had to leave mid meal. I saw a staff member walk past carrying a dead rat by the tail. I immediately stopped eating. I went to the front desk and respectfully told them I would not eat anymore and I do not want to pay for it. They told me if I didn't take a picture it didn't happen. They called me a liar. They said they didn't have rats. They were extremely rude about it. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it until they handled my concerns extremely poorly. I will never be back and I have been telling everyone about this. Obviously I didn't have my phone ready to take a pic of her, she was walking fast hoping no one would see. My friend and I left immediately and did not pay the ticket. After reading other reviews with the pic of the roach on the sushi, I cannot believe this place was my go-to for over a year. read more

This place has a wide variety of food--which I found to be average. It was Sunday evening so seafood was on buffet . The sushi was good. Interior is typical Chinese with booths and tables. Noise level was a little high. We were never checked on to see if we needed refills or to have plates taken away. read more

The food was amazing, at least everything we tried, we didn't have much of the deep fried stuff other than the calamari and shrimp, both were great! Sushi was fresh and such a huge variety! If you just have to eat at a buffet it's OK. Clean place, big selection, lots of diverse foods to choose from. For me, I have a place I love to order off the menu so the buffet setting is not longer my go to. A lot of food it very little flavor. Please do not waste your time! I tried egg rolls they were okay the sushi is not legit . In every sushi roll was package crab meat very disgusting . I am EXTREMELY satisfied with todays lunch at Sumo Supreme Buffet. The service from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left was absolutely incredible and the food was fantastic. We went at a slow time of the day, where sometimes restaurants let food sit too long and it gets nasty but their food was delicious and still warm, nothing we had today was bad. The sushi was actually really good too! I don't like China Flag's sushi but this sushi was really good for a buffet. This place is second best to Chef Lees when it was open!!! If you know you know!! I feel like the selection has shrunk over the years. But I still enjoy this buffet. When you compare it to the competition. The flavors in the dishes come from the sauces and not a gang load of oil. Generally speaking, I steer clear of restaurants with sneeze bars. I'm just not a buffet kinda gal. But tonight, my daughter and I were next door at the craft store, so we decided to pop in here for sushi and stir fry. The decor is nice. Everything is clean and there are lots of choices. The staff was attentive and friendly. Both of us were disappointed in the food. Very bland. The sushi didn't seem fresh. The wonton soup broth was greasy and the wonton tasted awful. There was one peppery seafood dish that was not too bad. If I ever return, which is doubtful, I would probably try the hibachi. Judging by the veggies and meat choices, it seemed to be the freshest option. With tip, it was over $23 for one child and one adult buffet and waters. read more

Not the best buffet, but probably the best in town. I give it a three stars because they have a better variety of asian choices here. They do have some sushi selection, but it is not fresh. They also have a hibachi grill, but I don't do hibachi. The service is okay, but you have to flag them down just to get your water refilled. Against my better judgment I tried this place again. The last two times were utterly horrible. This was no different. The hibachi guy was a complete jerk, no fresh sushi was put out for the hour we stayed. Food on the buffet was actually cold, room temp, which i'm sure is a health hazard. Nice buffet place! I went there on Saturday around 3pm. It wasn't time for food that why the restaurant wasn't busy. I didn't have to wait to have a table. Staffs are friendly and care about me. Sumo buffet serves lots of Asia food and Sushi. It were pretty good. I also like their dessert too. There are some reason that I only give 4 star. Some seafood weren't hot enough so they just tasted not as good as other dishes. I was there at the same time all staffs had lunch. They sit next to customer's table which is fine for me but they were really loud that I could here everything they said to each other. Service was horrible we ate one plate of Food and the waitress brought a Green wet bucket and placed it in the center of our table while we where eating I was horrified and we where like what was the bucket for they said for crab and crawfish scraps after the fact got upset not knowing where the wet bucket came from but we was still eating at this point I didn't want nothing else and they still ran behind me with a bill for 60sum dollars and told us we will give you a10 percent discount Was my fav but after today I will Never Eat a that place again read more

Sushi for Cheapskates Zeke's back after a two and a half year hiatus. I know, I know. You missed me. This time, I'm reviewing "Sumo Supreme Buffet". Usually when I eat sushi, I'm left unfilled. Not totally full. This place was able to accomplish leaving me full. I only had to pay 14.25 instead of for where I would have normally paid 100 dollars at a regular sushi joint. Unfortunately the downside is the sushi itself is admittedly worse than any other sushi bad. Not bad at all but definitely nothing to ride home about. The price was able to knock this up to 3 stars. Sometimes you have to choose quantity of quality. As long as I don't get food poisoning (I'm currently still eating), this place gets 3 stars. read more

Huge disappointment and I will never step foot in there again. I should've followed the clues- no people eating there. I grabbed a plate and went for the food that I normally eat at Chinese buffet- chicken wings, mini clams, corn, and favorite, mini crab legs. Clams were watery and tasteless, as if they had sat in water for way too long, chicken wings had white meat but surrounded by dark stuff to show that it was old, the corn tasted real bad and watery. But the worst was the crab legs. It tasted real bad so when I sniffed it, it had an ammonia smell. I went back and they renewed a new batch of mini crab legs and it also smelled like a bad ammonia. It would be to the best interest of the Board of Health to visit and save people from getting sick. I don't even feel good afterwards. read more

I need to update my review score from 5 stars to 4 stars because the quality has continued to gradually go down and the availability of some of my favorite items has decreased and to top it off, prices keep going up. They did a stellar job of building up a strong customer base but I feel they have become a bit complacent now and also made the decision to increase profit margins, not a good combination. No more fresh avocado drizzled with sweet sauce on the bar. The stuffed jalapenos are no longer good, no longer made quite the same and often tasting like they were made a while back and slept in the freezer. The jalapeno chicken was one of my favorites here but is now very hit and miss on flavor. The steamed crab legs have limited availability, just certain days which has changed more than once. The family running it are still sweet and gracious people but the employees are having to work harder and are often spread a bit thin trying to rush back and forth to all the tables like chickens with their heads cut off during rush hours. Some people there prepare certain items better than others, just a lack of consistency. The sushi is normally still very good as well as many other items. I still enjoy getting a plate of food made at their hibachi grill too. In my opinion their sushi still stands out as much better than any you will find on another buffet in this area. The rest is pretty much on par with China Flag (some things a bit better at one place or the other) except the people working here, they have a far more genuine friendliness. read more

If I could rate the place as a ZERO I would have marked it that way. I went there about a month ago at lunchtime. The place was pretty much empty and the service was horrible. The used dinner plates were not picked up, and some of the food looked like it sat on their buffet table for hours. The soda tasted and smelled like mold! Even their water!! The selection was poor and the cost was too high for food that was old-looking. The mirrors they had on their walls were covered in a grease-like substance as well as the glass that divided the tables to the buffet. I will never eat there again and my advice to others is to stay away and save yourself a trip to the hospital for food poisoning. read more

Warning: You will become hooked on this place. I first tried it 3 weeks ago, and have returned 3 more times since then. Crab legs are fantastic! Everything is so freshM Of the 4 times I've gone, only once was I disappointed and it was more due to having to wait quite awhile - 15 min- for the crab legs but to be fair it was a Monday around 4 and the place was dead.
