Food is as you'd expect from a Chinese buffet so don't get your hopes up. To me it's s to lol good food. I will eat there again.

I've came here before, and it's usually good. However, this time maybe I noticed more than usual. Tables sticky, forcing us to move due to the stickiness. They didn't put out new food even after 45 minutes of waiting and so a few items were missing and when I asked why and if it's almost time to close the manager just shrugged and said they close in an hour and a half. It succeed that even after I asked about why there wasn't any fresh food it was shrugged off. The thing that got to me most is that the sushi chef was coughing on the sushi in front of everyone! Pretty decent place. Although the name implies Japanese, it is nothing much more that a Chinese buffet with a large offering of Sushi and perhaps a smattering of Japanese side salads. . My wife and I eat there pretty often and all in all, we always leave satisfied. The decor is attractive and the overall the restaurant is always clean. Service is usually friendly. Never noisy and crowded even when busy. The quality of food is consistent and good in general. The Sushi, considering it is not a Japanese restaurant, is very good. I haven't anything bad to say about this place. It is as good as, if not better, than most of the Chinese buffets in Shreveport. You should be happy if you go. read more

The hibachi was also pretty great, best part is they had crawfish on the buffet and it actually taste really good. This restaurant has a plethora of food, if you can't find something to like at this restaurant you must not have taste buds or you arrived at times when food has not been replenished. My family and I arrived 10 minutes after the restaurant opened and tried a little bit of everything. The food was hot and the employees were bringing out more dishes. I usually starat outwith a 5 and go down if i finda problem. No problems here yesterday afternnoon. They did riun out of stwamed rice but got some more on the line soon. It was my ex wifes 60th biryhday. She fied of stage 3 breast cancer that metastasized to her lubgs. She died feb 2018. The 3rd would have been her 60 th birthday. Sad just sad. This is a large buffet but they didn't care to replenish the food or have anything fresh. It appears they normally have a large selection of sushi since there were at least 7 empty platters on the sushi line and a few scattered pieces here and there. I asked for some fresh sushi to be put out & the staff just said "that's it". The grill was being cleaned but they were nice enough to take my food to the back & cook it. It was 2 hrs before close on a Sunday night but they still had at least 20 customers all asking for fresh food. Will never waste my time or money here again. read more

This place was awesome! They make the sushi right there and constantly changing it, I like that he makes the rolls SUPER so that it doesn't go to waist and since theyre small you can try everything without getting super full! There was such a large variety of sides, I love the crab, crawfish & they even had frog legs! One of the best sushi buffets I have ever been to. Since I live in Cali I will just have to reminisce about it lol but If I am ever back in Shreveport that will be one of my stops I make for some good ole Chinese food & sushi! 1 thing though, towards the end of the meal I asked for a refill on my sprite. My family and I came in for lunch because it was my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. We were from out of town and didn't want to spend a whole lot so we could do other fun things. Altogether, our bill was $39, which we felt was a great deal for the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. Unlike many buffets we've been to before, the food was very fresh and hot items were warm. We especially loved the fried bananas, sushi rolls, and kimchi. Everyone who worked there, especially our server, was extremely polite and both receptive and helpful with our concerns and questions. At midday, it was rather quiet and not as busy, boosting the level of the low-lighting atmosphere. We felt very relaxed after being wound up during the morning hours at the boats. It was also very clean and the staff's efforts to keep it so didn't go unnoticed. My only complaint was that it was hard to tell which items were which on the buffet. Signs were written clearly but not placed in conspicuous locations. Mainly, they say above the item in question but scattered about. We will, however, be visiting again! read more

My family stopped in for dinner arund 5:30. We have eaten here many times, initially it was very good but we l have noticed a significant decline in food quality and options scine they opened. Last night very little of the food left on the buffet was fresh, most of it looked and tasted like it had been there since lunch and the pans were mostly empty. We came here for my husband's birthday, and I must say, we were not disappointed. The food is delicious, and there is PLENTY of it. We didn't even get past the Japanese side of the buffet before feeling like we wanted to explode! I can't tell you what all we tried, because I honestly don't know what half of it was, but I can tell you it was all great. Items that did stand out were the walnut shrimp and the sushi (all of them). However, every item is worth trying. They have a Mongolian grill, a Japanese side, a chinese side and a whole sushi bar. You'll be overwhelmed by all the choices. But enough of the food! My biggest (and most pleasant) surprise was how nice the locale was. Woooo-weeee! The BEST Chinese food buffet in all of Shreveport Bossier! This place is clean, cheap and has a vast selection of all types of Asian dishes as far as the eye can see! I filled up on sushi, crab rangoons, General Tso's chicken, fried rice, Sumo's own homemade fried chicken, hot and sour soup, etc...for dessert, you can get your own individual, pre-wrapped in its' own container of Blue Bunny ice cream: I got chocolate and vanilla. The cost of the adult buffet on a Saturday afternoon was only $7.79! They serve fountain coke products, including Coke Zero, which will run you an extra two bucks. They have flat screen televisions around the restaurant, which had the sound down, but were on ESPN and college football which was nice. The overhead radio in the restaurant had to be on Sirius or something, because it was seriously pumping the jams (but it wasn't loud, or anything...it was like a dentist's office with the volume.). While I dined, I heard U2, Kenny Wayne Shepherd (Shreveport's own, btw!) and Jimmy Eat World, among others. It was a very nice dining experience and my server was fantastic! For a chinese buffet this place is the bomb! I usually go during lunch time for the buffet which is a great deal. Every item I have eaten from the buffet is tasty. I even got the chicken wings once and was surprised that they were in the top 5 of chicken wings I've ever had. I am a pretty big sushi fan, and their sushi is okay with spicy mayo and soy. But it is good quality sushi for the price that you pay. The atmosphere is nice, there is a big selection at the buffet, and the service is good as well. Just okay. There are better Asian buffets in this part of town. The sushi guys act like you're putting them out if you ask for a replenishment of the empty trays. (Plus, sub-par sushi, but it is a Shreveport buffet.) Same standard fare you would find at other places. Food is okay when its fresh, but when the place is empty (tip: if the parking lot's empty, keep driving) the food sits and becomes inedible. (Brown green beans, anyone?) Rates above average for ambiance. Lots of granite and attempts at upscale decor. Something is definitely wrong with their sewer line because it smells like a campground por-ta-let today. (It also smelled at Dollar Tree next door.) I would definitely change my rating if the quality was higher on a subsequent visit, but will likely not come again. read more

I would have gave this 1 star, but the sushi saved the rest of the food. I went to sumo on a Saturday about 3 months ago and everything was great! Today I went on a second trip here. Let me tell you, it tasted like $h!t! I got the Mongolian BBQ and I got it, tasted it, and it tasted like they didn't clean the cooking surface, so it tasted like it was cooked in a rusty old pan. The fried food like spring rolls, etc., tasted the same. Like fried with old grease. My meal was not enjoyable except for the sushi. Well the 2 stars is really just for the fancy layout and decor of the restaurant. We came here because we saw the pictures of the sushi buffet and it looked interesting. But of course, "sushi buffet" tasted just as bad as it sounds. Dried up brown avocado and dried raw fish. The ones that weren't dried still tasted stale. The fried rice was stale, old, dried up, chewy, just not good, and the rest of the food was either average or simply not good. It was $24 for 2 people: $12 a person?! Sumo has a huge buffet full of all kinds of Chinese food. I absolutely love sushi but you have to get to Sumo about two to three hours after they open. If you come late, the food has been sitting for awhile and no one likes sushi that's been sitting out. The food is delicious especially for a buffet. For my hubby and I it's around $22, no drinks. Wish there was an option for no stars at all. This place has just gotten disgusting. I used to love it here, but these days they NEVER put out fresh food while you're there. There used to be a sushi maker (chef??) right there at all times, and he would make fresh rolls constantly. Food was never cold on the hot bar. Hibachi workers actually talked to you and were nice. Today was my first day back in a while and I have to tell you, I was absolutely shocked to find it in the state that it's in. With the vast amount of staff just standing around chatting, you'd think someone could mention to the kitchen that the fried rice is cold, or they're out of something, or whatever. We wasted an hour and a half here hoping something fresh would come out and never did. I hate to say it, but if that's how they're going to handle their buffet, they need to go ahead and follow in the footsteps of other Chinese buffet restaurants that have closed and just shut it down. read more

This is probably the worst buffet I've ever been to. I took my son and niece there for lunch on Sunday because we wanted to try out a new place. We got our food and sat down to eat. We literally tasted the food and it was cold. I called over our server and told her the problem. She was apologetic and told us no problem. My son still wanted his crab legs so my niece and I sat while he ate. The server cleared our plates and we decided to just grab something at a drive thru. When the server brought the check, they had changed for 3 people. I told her we didn't eat and shouldn't be charged. She insisted we pay 1/2 price because we tasted the food. Absolutely ridiculous!!! I refused and paid only for 3 drinks and 1 buffet. The older lady was very rude and we will never be back for that kind of treatment or cold food. I still tipped the server because it was in no way her fault. I just hate that she had to come speak to us instead of a manager or owner. I would've probably tried it again on another day if they weren't so rude and greedy. I just don't understand how anyone can expect you to pay for food they didn't eat. read more

My girlfriend and I got there I guess after the evening rush around 8 or 9. We found out Chef Lee was closed to our disappointment. We decide to try this place. The choice was limited. They didn't have much food and didn't bring anymore out. Our waitresses was rude .When I asked if 3 yr old get a free plate. She rudely said no. I was like. "Lady I'm just asking a question.
