I am a recently retired professor and just moved to Henderson a few weeks ago and was looking for a reliable and honest garage to maintain my trusty 1999 BMW which I love. I just took it in this morning as my turning light was not working and the indicator in the dash alerted that the head light's low beam had a problem. They spent about 25 minutes, came back and told me they changed the bulb of the turning light, replaced a broken plastic part in the housing and that the low beam was fine and did not need any repair. My wife brought my car in for an oil change, and came back with an estimate for $156 worth of fuel system maintenance. I called and asked what the basis was for this estimate. "We recommend this work whenever a car hits 20,000 miles" was their reply. So this wasn't based on something they detected; it was just fluff to bolster their bottom lines. How did they know it wasn't already done? It really disturbs me when these places try to take advantage of the layman. I don't trust this place anymore, and I won't be coming back. read more

They asked me if they could rotate my wheels before actually doing it unlike most auto shops they just do it without asking. Was here 23 days ago to get my daughters car oil changed and said I would return with my own vehicle for maintenance and I did. Upon further inspection JD the service consultant/manager said a rack and pinion had a leak and steering fluid would need to be topped off periodically if I didn't fix the problem. My car has an extended warranty which is garbage by the way and I will be reviewing them soon. They would only cover roughly half of the expense and I had to fork out the rest. Dropped the car off and it was finished promptly and on the same day. Asked if there was anything else wrong with the vehicle and even asked them to find something wrong with the vehicle but other than that the car was great. These guys are the BEST. They will NOT cheat you and will not offer services that are not needed and even with the services that are necessary they dont push you or try to scare you or worry you to get it done. Been a customer of this location since opening (previous customer at their Stephanie location for years) and always impressed with their professionalism/warmth/knowledge with a phone call or in person. I always wondered who did the hiring because the company is consistent with GREAT counter personal service help. The horror stories of many AUTO SHOPS are rapid along with my being a woman to be taken advantage of BUT this has never been the circumstances with Sun Auto, the reason customers keep coming back and they remain busy. They do NOT attempt to rip you off, I feel safe with their recommendations of what is needed by Mike, JD, Patrick....recently I stopped by with my Lexus VSC light on and JD ran the code and lights went out and NO CHARGE and done with a SMILE and THANK YOU (many businesses forget those important simple items). Thank you for such great customer service! I am new to Vegas and just bought a used car for my daughter who lives in California. She is coming next week to pick it up. I was a worried because shortly after I purchased the car, I noticed there was what seemed to be smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. I called Sun Auto Service on St. Rose, basically just picking them from a google search. When I called, the person that answered the phone told me to just bring the car in and he would look at it no charge to make sure my daughter stayed safe. I did. They did a diagnosis and he never even mentioned money. He said he put some oil in it and come back in a few days after driving it around and they would re-check it, no charge. They offered me options without trying to up-sell me on anything and their prices were far better than past experiences elsewhere. If I could give a Minus star rating I would. If you have extra money to throw away this is a great place to get your car fixed. They totally TRIED to rip me off...until I confronted them. They TRIED to charge me almost 3 times the amount for the part. When I confronted them they knocked some off the price and told me I had to give them a 5 star rating. I don't think so. I am new to Las Vegas and have been looking for a reliable auto repair shop. After kissing a few frogs which I wish I could mention here I came across Sun Auto Service. I had been trying to get my a/c working again on my 2001 Tahoe. After several hours and $700. Later a repair shop on Serene ave told me I would have to spend an additional $1500.00 for a new compressor. By this time I had last all confidence in this nationally known repair shop. Make a long story short Mike and JD were able to get me back on the road with a/c within a reasonable time.
