I honestly didn't expect to give this place 5 stars but Phil truly earned it. Here's why. I initially came in to figure out why my engine light was on. Phil quickly recommended a diagnostic test, which revealed a radiator failure causing a leak. He reassured me they could handle the repair without any issues. On the day of the repair, things didn't go as smoothly as planned. There was a delay that took longer than expected, which understandably left me frustrated. However, when I shared my concerns with Phil especially about needing better updates so I could plan around not having my car, he completely turned the situation around. Phil took ownership of the issue, communicated clearly, and set realistic expectations. He genuinely made an effort to make things right and followed through by getting my 2013 Cadillac ATS fixed properly. While I wasn't thrilled about the $1,400 cost, he did everything he could to help, including explaining financing options that ended up being a huge relief. In the end, I'm very happy with the results and the overall experience. I'll definitely be returning. Also, shoutout to Mario and the mechanics for being incredibly patient throughout the process. I waited 2hrs. For a tire repair. Because I had a screw that was too close to the wall. I had to get a new tire. So I have to come back when they have it in stock. And I just bought all four from them a month ago 2hrs just to come back I did have an appointment too! Update: Came back in the next day to replace my tire. DO NOT GO HERE. Bad alignment and unable to diagnose a simple and common control arm issue. In July 2025 I got routine maintenance on my car and they said I'd need to keep an eye on my front lower control arms. In 12/30/25 I brought my car in for creaking sounds in the front end. They changed my front struts and rear shocks for $2500. I left and immediately heard the noises again and brought back the next day or so and I take the front desk guy on a test drive because he said he couldn't hear the sound- we went on the drive and he heard it and told me that he had no idea what the sound was (it was only when the front end was going over a bump or curb) and that I would have to take it to a specialist to have them but mics on the bottom of the car to diagnose the problem. He said to keep an eye on it but it was not a safety concern. He NEVER mentioned the control arm. About 3 weeks later I had to bring my car back because it wasn't aligned properly - my steering wheel was visibly crooked. It was fixed and I was condescendingly told it was only off a little bit, as in it wasn't a big deal. It's an alignment- it's either aligned or it's not. Today I take my car to another location and they diagnose and fix my car WITHOUT needing specialized diagnostics. My control arm needed replacing- a very common issue. I went back to this location and spoke to the manager Nick who never apologized but defended everything the shop said and when I asked "is it normal to have to have a specialist diagnose a control arm" and he said "yes". He said "I don't want to have you fix something that we aren't sure it was the problem ". LIES. They "repaired" my shocks and they weren't causing the problem that I brought it in for so he contradicted himself right there. He said it's totally normal to require a specialist to diagnose creaking sounds from the front suspension. That's WILD. I asked if it was normal to have to have alignments redone and he just stared at me. This place is either incredibly lazy and has zero integrity or they aren't knowledgeable enough to diagnose common issues. Either way- I'll never be back. read more

Don't go here--bad customer service. I went to Sun Auto to get my driver-side tire fixed, and everything seemed fine at first. The next day, they sent me a recommendation saying my other tires had the same problem. They never told me about that while I was there and still let me drive the car with bad tires. All they could say was, "Sorry, maybe it was a misunderstanding." When I picked up my car, the mechanic was on the phone while checking it. I went to their shop to have my A/C diagnostics done to help me with a decision if I should get rid of the car or have it repaired. After diagnostics they told me that the total charge is around $1400 including brake fluid change and coolant change. After waiting in their shop for 6 hours they told me that my car needed a new compressor, condenser and a/c expansion valve because they said that there was an obstruction which increase internal pressure to 200psi, which drives the total cost $3878.41 which is way too much for the value of the car. To get the car back I have to pay $900.00 and a/c still not fix. They could have told me a little earlier about the problem and the total cost before they do brake fluid change and coolant change to save me the money. read more

I had a constant leak on my oil pan and Phil the manager looked into it and after inspecting pan it was not clear why with new gasket on screw was not stopping leak and accordingly he ordered a new pan to please us and fix the mystery problem. He was at the highest level of professionalism and super curtious and explained everything perfectly. We've been using them for years and so pleased that we highly recommend this place! Came in for just an oil change for my bmw i let them know i have oil and a filter i just don't have the time to do it myself and was in a hurry they changed it for me for only 30$ in labor and they were quick When i came in my tpm light was on too because my tire was low and when i received my vehicle back i had noticed the light was off and my tire pressure was adjusted which i thought was a super nice gesture, i hate going to shops because 90% of them are dishonest and i enjoy working on vehicles myself but the fact that they fixed an issue and didn't say anything or charge me for it shows that there a trustworthy and good place. 4/23/25 This place used to feel trustworthy, but now it feels like the type of shop that tries to intimidate customers and pressure them into unnecessary expenses. If you enjoy being treated like you don't know anything about cars, and you're okay with upsells and questionable repair recommendations, then this might be the place for you. As for me, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I've been a loyal customer of Sun Auto for years, taking both of my vehicles there for regular maintenance. Unfortunately, I won't be returning after my recent experience. Their prices have climbed higher than most other places in the area, and to make matters worse, the way they treat customers has gone downhill. During my last visit, Edgar was especially rude and condescending. He tried to upsell me on new tires, insisting that I was in dire need of replacement, even though my tires are only two years old and in great condition. His pushy behavior made me uncomfortable, and it all became clear when I noticed the big poster on their front door advertising a tire sale--it felt like the hard sell was purely profit-driven. I also asked for a general inspection because my car was making a weird noise, something they used to do for free in the past. This time, I was told it would cost $155. When I declined, Edgar's attitude became noticeably worse. He warned me that I was "taking the risk of doing worse damage to the car" and then made a comment about how they "would go out of business if they gave free inspections." The entire interaction felt dismissive and unfriendly, as though I was being punished for not agreeing to the upsell. To top it all off, on a prior visit with my other vehicle, they claimed I needed a $5,000 repair. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion, and it turned out the repair wasn't needed at all. Addition 4/26/25 My "need oil change" light came on today. (2 days after the oil change)Then I looked in the upper left corner of the car windsheild and the old sticker they put on from last oil change is STILL there, and even worse, the corners are picked at, as if they tried to get it off but couldn't and just left it. UNBELIEVABLE! They couldn't even reset the oil change counter on the dash or give me a new sticker that shows when i'm due next. I now am doubting that they even did the oil change!!! read more

No stars in my opinion. My husband went into today to simply get a tire change. There was a nail stuck in the tire. He waited ONE HOUR for them to tell him they can't change it. On top of that they were opening up the hood. Whats the need to check the hood for a tire change ? Also why take a whole hour to just say they couldn't change it. If they know they can't why even have someone waiting, wasting their time. They told him he would only be able to get new tires if it was 2 tires that needed to be changed ( makes no sense but okay) & it would be $100 for just one . Absolutely ridiculous. Waste of time & money. Spare yourself the waste. I would not recommend this place. Please look for some other spot because this was very infuriating. read more

I'd been stewing on this review for a couple weeks now and today prompted me to finally write and post one. I brought my 2019 Jeep renegade Trailhawk in for an oil change on a Wednesday morning. I called ahead and they said it could be done within an hour to hour 15. brought my ride over at 9:30AM and confirmed once again it would take an hour to an hour 15. Time was important to me this day because I had jury duty at noon. Usually I take my Jeep to the dealership but they had a 2 hour wait so I didn't want to risk missing jury duty. They called me into the shop at one point because they found what they presumed to be transmission fluid leaking from my car while doing the oil change. They said they'd finish the oil change but I should make an appointment with the dealership to have that looked at because it likely falls under the powertrain warranty. I was glad they pointed that out! Anyway, "why is the review bad??" you must be wondering... Well, around 11 I still didn't have my car back. One of the managers calls me to the front desk... Turns out they don't have the oil filter needed for my car and it needs to stay in the shop until they get it around roughly 3PM. Uh oh! I got jury duty in an hour and now I need to find a ride!! Luckily, I was able to arrange a ride for jury duty. Got my Jeep back at 3PM and that was that. Fast forward to today. I finally got my ride back from the dealership and turns out my leak is actually oil and it's coming from a vacuum connected to the engine. AND, we found out Sun Auto put the wrong oil in my engine (the oil check sticker on my Jeep tipped us off). My Jeep takes OW-30, they put OW-20 in it. I called this Sun Auto up and whoever answered the phone didn't have much to say when I pointed this out. He was initially adamant it takes OW-20. Seriously, a simple Google of "2019 renegade Trailhawk oil" will point this out. A sticker on the oil dipstick says so too. The point of my review is to prevent people from making the same mistake I did. Don't use this place. They're incompetent. We trust establishments like this with our cars and they can't even do an oil change correctly. Now I have to pay for another oil change to get the wrong oil out of my car. read more

I knew my rear brakes needed to be changed and decided to take to this shop since it's very close by to where I live. A brake job should be very simple for a mechanic to do, especially if it's just pads, rotors, and flush so I figured there's nothing I should be concerned about. I was told I could leave my car in the afternoon and the break job would be done by the end of day. I got the call to come pick up my car at the end of the day and got there when all of the mechanics had already left. I paid and had the confidence that everything was going to be fine. I even asked if they test drove the car and was told they had. As soon as I got into my car and started driving, I immediately started hearing a strange grinding voice coming from the right rear which was happening with or without even breaking. I tried to continue to drive home hoping it might go away but it didn't. I called and talked with someone there who closed and asked me to come in first thing in the morning at 7am to look at the car. I am now writing this review as I'm sitting in my car since being here at 7am because there's nobody here and apparently doesn't actually open until 7:30am. This all could have easily been avoided and there's no way anyone test drove my car after the break job otherwise they would've heard the noise. Now I had to wake up extra early before work hoping I'll have my car ready in time and wasted even more of my time being told incorrect information. If these guys can't even do a basic brake job correctly, I wouldn't trust them to do an oil change or anything else more mechanical. Hate to say it but this is the first and last time I'll bring my car to them and suggest taking your car someplace else for any issues. I guess I'm going to take a little nap now in my car until someone gets here. Ugh. read more

I have had great experiences until the last time I brought in my vehicle. I was having some battery charging issues so I brought my vehicle in to be looked at on 5/27/23. Come to find out I had a bad alternator and I needed a new battery. I have a great warranty so I didn't have to pay for much of the work done, with the exception of my deductible and a new battery, which I was grateful for. Once I got my car back and after driving it for a day or so, my battery light had come on, my air wasn't blowing fully and I could hear a clanking sound in my engine. So, I did my due diligence and scheduled an appointment to have them look at my vehicle again for the following Saturday 6/3 because I work full time. As I was driving home from work on Thursday 6/1, which was about 2 minutes from my apartment, and a quarter mile from the shop, every dash notification you can think of stated going off, my power steering stopped working, and I could tell my car was most likely going to stall. Luckily I was able to coast into my apartment complex parking lot. Being that these issues did not start happening until after the initial work was done by this shop, I immediately called them looking for them to send a tow truck. I was working with the assistant manager who gave me excuses like, well the tow truck companies are really busy and he said he would call me back, which he didn't. 4 hours later I called back and he gave me the same excuse about the tow truck companies being busy. I then escalated and told him that this is their responsibility to have this taken care of and I expected and asked for when he would be following up with me. After I got off the phone, my car started and against my better judgement I drove it to the shop. And of course had the same problems happened again as I was pulling into their parking lot. That was Thursday 6/1/23. After assuming that the assistant manager didn't want to talk to me anymore, he had me work with Jesse, who was patient, kind, and empathetic. He has been nice every time I come into the shop. I called the shop today 6/3 to confirm what steps were being taken with my vehicle and was speaking with the assistant manager. He again wanted to give more excuses and continued to over talk me which sent me into an absolute rage. This was the first time I had heard from anyone since dropping off my vehicle, and then I come to find out that the shop doesn't have an electrical specialist who works on the weekends and it won't be looked at until Tuesday 6/6. It would have been really nice to know that up front and that the appropriate expectations were set with me. The conversation with the assistant manager continued to escalate and of course, the assistant manager hung up on me. I called back and talked Jesse who was gracious and kind and very patient. I'm confused why he isn't a leader at this location because he knows how to talk to people and treat them with respect. I have never been treated the way I was treated by the assistant manager and I will continue to do business with this location despite him and his actions. I will never recommend this business based on the actions of the assistant manager but the rest of your staff has helped make my life just a little easier. read more

I was in a bind.... Saturday afternoon, places to be and a puddle of oil under my car. I had just had an oil change on Thursday prior, (not at Sun Auto) and my car has never leaked oil previously, so had a feeling there was a loose drain plug or filter, but I have no way of getting under my car to find the culprit. Calling around, I find that all the shops are booked and busy, including Sun Auto, but, Mario says to bring the car in asap and they'll take a look. I get to Sun Auto, the place is hopping with activity. Mechanics all busy, phone won't stop ringing, customers in and out the door. Even without an appointment they were able to get my car in, find the loose drain plug, clean up the oil that had dripped, and top off the 1/4 quart of oil that I had lost to the leak. The kicker: "no charge". (I dropped a $20.... As I was very grateful, and which Mario was hesitant to accept! But I can't abide great service for free.) The takeaway: These guys really came through and helped me out of a bind, as the shop that did the oil change wasn't an option to go back to. I hope this review will help illustrate the culture of service and help at this shop. I was very pleased, impressed and grateful. Came here for a check engine light. My truck was running extremely rough. They "diagnosed" the problem as a fuel filter and a throttle body. I called the store and spoke with Jesse, Josh, and Phil. Told them i didn't think it was the throttle body because when I turn off the truck and turn it back on the truck runs fine. They GUARANTEED ne it was the throttle body. They replaced the throttle body and the issue was still there. I called up the district manager as the store manager was unwilling to give me a refund on the throttle body. DM told me "go get it re diagnosed if it comes back throttle body, I will happily refund your money." Plot twist...I took it back to the same store. They "RE-DIAGNOSED" the issue with the "MASTER MECHANIC" problem came back throttle body again. To where I stated they misdiagnosed the original problem, DM says I can get a refund. Now the manager Phil, and the District Manager Cameron are stating it was a faulty throttle body they put in and now i need a new computer in the truck because that is what's sending faulty codes and "shorting out the throttle body." STILL REFUSE TO GIVE REFUND. Took the truck to Ted Weins on Ft Apache and Flamingo, they fixed an idle pulley that was stripped off and all of my codes went away. Magically no more throttle body codes, no more check engine light, truck runs great. Called the DM to make it right and give me a refund he said take me to small claims or BBB. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! THEY WILL MISDIAGNODE YOU, PUT IN A PART YOU DO NOT NEED AND YOUR VEHICLE WILL STILL BE THE SAME AS YOU BROUGHT IT IN. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE MY OLD PART BACK TO SO I COULD CHECK IT Also, filling small claims today and contacting the BBB too. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

My 2015 Tacoma wouldn't start up after my graveyard shift ended. Had to get my truck towed to Sun Auto Services on Buffalo and Warm Springs because I live near. Phil and the fellas really took care of me and my truck. They found out the problem with my truck and I also let them know about my AC not working and suspected my AC compressor was bad. Later that day, I received a call from them and told me the problems of my truck and what they needed to do to fix it. They got my truck up and running and got my AC freezing the next day. Honestly, I am extremely happy and super grateful for the fellas at Sun Auto. I'm from Hawaii and just moved here in November 2022. Took my 2005 Avalanche here with a loud grinding noise in the differential and they diagnosed the problem right away and Correctly. They took the cover plate off the differential to look at the gears and had me go in the shop and look at the gears. They were so chewed up and broken it was immediately obvious just what the issue was. The mechanic spoke with me and they gave me an estimate for the repairs. Fast friendly service and started to work on it right away. They even gave me a ride home and Josh kept me updated the whole time. Very large garage with plenty of service bays and great mechanics that really knew what to do and how to fix the problem. I couldn't be happier with the final results. Josh and his staff were friendly knowledgeable and helpful. If you have any issues with your vehicle this is the auto shop you can absolutely trust your vehicle with. Terrible service. The guy legit told me it would take 1-1.5 hrs MAX. Called at 2hours. Was told they were behind and I was next up. Then they called said it would be ready in 15-20 min. 40 min later I asked the guy to stop and let me just take my truck. They need to figure out how to properly estimate wait times and not just take a wild guess. All in all it was 3.5hrs and still not done with the oils change and air filter. read more

DISHONEST TO SAY THE LEAST! I took my car in for an oil change and after the oil change was completed they recommended some work that needed to be done. So a few days later I took my car in to get the work done that the recommended. The water pump was changed along with a brake flush and a transmission flush. They told me once I changed the water pump there shouldn't be any more leaks on my car. WRONG! A few days later my oil light came on. For some reason i needed oil in my car. How is that possible when I just had an oil change done in September and I also noticed that coolant was low as well. How is that possible when they changed the water pump. So obviously there is a leak coming from somewhere else. I called and informed them that there was still a leak and a few days later I took my car back to them to have them look at it. They charged me almost $100 which I didn't understand because they said it was being caused by the faulty water pump. but I was in a rush so I paid it. After they looked at my car yet again they informed me that there wasn't a coolant leak. He said I brought it back because there was an oil leak? I never told him what was leaking or from where so they whole time they knew it was an oil leak but had me change something on the car which had nothing to do with the leak to begin with. When asking about the leak Rick wasn't very nice and was very rude in his responses and nonchalant. He told me I had not one or two but multiply oil leaks. Huh? Multiply?! How is that when they changed my oil? Did they not see the leak? They told me drive it for a few days then bring it back in! Makes no sense whatsoever! Nice when you need the service done and afterwards once they have your money they're RUDE RUDE RUDE. What sense does that make to bring it back? If you know there's a leak find the leak!!!! It's that simple. So here I am almost $1000 later with the same issue. I will be contacting the corporate office along with the BBB because these people are not loyal or trustworthy people. I will take my car elsewhere because these people are dishonest and money gougers! We're in a pandemic and you are taking advantage of people who are trying to make it just as you're! Shame on you RICK for being so rude. Maybe because I'm black is the vibe I got...... Update: I had to take my car to my original mechanic but he is so far so I wanted to trust what Sun Auto was telling me about my car. After all Sun auto LIED!!! It was never in fact an oil leak, it was a hose that needed to be replaced along with other items that needed to be done. Last week, my service engine light came on even though I sensed nothing wrong with my V6 2001 Mustang, but I took it to Sun Auto as a precaution that came highly recommended by my wife's boss who has been taking his car there for years. Granted my Mustang has superficial problems with it, but for the most part, it has been a reliable car, and I couldn't find any major issues. My ABS light is also on, but after taking my wheels apart, Triple A found nothing wrong but a faulty sensor but charged me 330 dollars for my troubles anyway. Plus, I have a spider crack on my windshield that someone smacked while my wife took the car to work and found the impact afterwards. I was told the diagnostic check would be 195 dollars, and that they would find where the codex indicates the problem is which ended up being a pressure switch to my compressor on my newer AC unit plus a refill/recharge, along with a new fuse box cover for a grand total of 952 dollars, all this so my check engine light would come back on today while driving on the freeway to the gym. Now I know car mechanics aren't an exact science, but I was charged for parts, labor and repair I may not have needed. And if I take it back, who's to say they won't make up something else and charge me my remaining arm and leg? Who am I to trust? So this review gets a 3. They seemed genuine when talking to them, but the check engine light diagnosis that cost me so much money just so the engine light would come back on a few days later is an epic failure. And I'm hoping they read this so we can come to an accord. read more

I've been having issues with my car the last few months and I could never get it fixed with the other shop I had been to. I took my car today and they were great! Took it in pretty quickly, addressed the problem and got right to work! Not only did they diagnose the issue my car was having that the other shop couldn't figure out, but my car is like new again. I'm so happy to have found this shop! Even if it is a bit of a drive, they're worth it. The store manager Phil knew his stuff and was on top of everything at all times.
