Sun King is a corner frozen dim sum store in the middle of the residential area. The store looks like that it's closed and dark inside. Actually the store always turns on the OPEN sign outside . The owner only turned on the inner kitchen light to save the energy. When I walked in, he immediately came out from the kitchen and greeted me. I was quite disappointed that lots of items were out of stock. There were only two freezers which were full of items. I guess I was out of luck to try the Har Gau (Shirmp Dumplings) and Xiao Long Bao which a lot of netizens recommended. I paid in cash. I got the following: 1. Canton Shui Gau Wonton These Canton Wonton taste like the ones I had in the restaurant.. 2.Shrimp & Pork Wonton The wonton skin is a bit thick. 95% pork and 5% shrimp bites Not much fat , they are still good chewy pork wonton. But I prefer more than 80%-100% shrimp wontons. 3. Pork Siu Mai They are still good Pork Siu Mai. I just personally prefer shrimp & pork siu mai which are more than 60% shrimp with Chinese mushroom in Siu Mai. 4. Shanghai Style Pork & Chives Dumplings They are flavorful dumplings with well-balanced of pork & chives. Advantages: - Authentic taste and all handmade. - Each pack is about $6.5 - $8, very economical compared to local supermarkets' frozen dim sum. - Close to residential areas for the dim sum craving families Disadvantages: - One man show, so the owner cannot make mass production because everything are handmade. - Lot of items are out of stock - missing the cooking instructions for cooking dummies I definitely will come back for more frozen food.

This is the most random dim sum place in the middle of the hood. But they make really good dim sum. And it is pretty inexpensive as well. I generally get the haw-gow and when they have sui mai it is delicious. It is a one man shop, but if you need a recommendation for dinner he can provide that as well. One time I tried his special ribs in sauce. It was wonderful! So I would recommend stopping by this place and giving it a try if you have not. Free parking is out front.

Good dim sum. Price is good. Quality could have been better but you pay for what you get.

There are fish tanks with live fish and lobsters floating around, and ordering is done the old-school way on a paper slip where you mark the quantity you want. I love that everything comes out fresh and is handed to you table-side. What really stood out here was the portion size. The shui mai, har gow, and char siu bao were all much larger than I expected, so my friends and I played it safe and still ended up with way too much food. Not a bad problem to have, but definitely come hungry. The service was also better than what I've experienced at a lot of dim sum places, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Solid traditional dim sum with generous portions and a nice hustle.

We came specifically for the King Crab Set Menu, and it was honestly such a great value for the amount of food you get. The king crab was fresh, meaty, and delicious, and the different preparations made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Everything was served in generous portions, and the overall quality was impressive for the price. The restaurant is extremely popular and gets very busy, especially during peak hours, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, and you can definitely tell this is a local favorite. Their Cantonese dishes and dim sum are also known for their generous portions and reasonable prices. Overall, I was really impressed by the quality, portion sizes, and value. If you're coming to Vancouver, I would definitely recommend adding this place to your food itinerary. The King Crab Set is a must-try, and it was good enough that I'd happily come back again!

We went there for the all you can eat hotpot, which was $43.99 per person for dinner. They were pretty busy on a Friday night, although we were able to get a table because some reservation didn't show up. Medium sized interior with mostly booth seating, and the entrance is narrower and expands to the back. It's a personal hotpot so each person gets their own stove and order their own soup base. Ordering is done via a tablet. They also have cooked dishes like skewers, fried mantou and other things on the menu in addition to the hotpot ingredients. Some of the items cost extra and are labeled with the cost. In the center, they have the sauce bar, desserts bar of mostly Chinese jellos and also an ingredients bar with things like spam and quail eggs. I got the satay broth and it was decent. Ingredients are served reasonably quickly. The quality of the meat is decent. The milk-marinated beef is actually soft, and the usual sliced ribeye, lamb shoulder and pork belly are fine. The cooked dishes are decent as well, as we tried their pork trotters, fried mussels, and lamb skewers. The selection for hotpot ingredient is as you'd expect for an AYCE place, but the cooked food selection is a bonus. Definitely stuffed myself and was a satisfying meal on a cold winter day. Not the cheapest meal, but not a solid value.
