    Milk custard tart

The dim sum in Canada is so much better than the dim sum in the states. The portion sizes are larger and it is much cheaper. I was able to get all the dishes below in my pictures for less than $100 US including tip and tax which is not possible in the US. Everything we ordered was delicious. The egg tarts are so much better than in the states. The custard is smooth and the crust is flaky. The eggplant was done well with a nice portion of shrimp paste. The chive and shrimp dumplings were huge! One was equivalent to the size of 4 in the US. The bean curd sheets were nicely crisp and fried. The mochi dumplings were nice and chewy with yummy savory filling. All the steamed dumplings were nice and with fresh shrimp. This restaurant was in a strip mall with a decent sized parking lot. Service was quick. And again, keep in mind that this is a typical Chinese restaurant so cleanliness and upkeep is not their strong suit.

Ok, so I came here cuz my parents in law said it was cheap. It wasn't cheaper than other comparable dim sum options in Vancouver - not than say Sun Sui Wah- but they have some great and unique dishes. In particular: - the beef brisket noodles was AMAZING. The sauce - and the noodles - my goodness. It's hard to describe - the noodles have a really.interestng texture. - chicken knee cartilage - I just love this. It's something I've only had regularly since coming to Vancouver. - duck webbed feet - these are so good - salted egg crispy fish skin - love this - stuffed eggplant - superb. Crispy, juicy. Everything was really big sized and really good quality. Would highly recommend. The only thing is the line can be long but you can call in. (Still have to wait a tiny bit). Will be coming back.

Dim sum prices has gone skyrocketing in the last 2 years. Prices hover around $9 per dish as normal. Portion size is the same as before. I do have to say the portion size of their dim sum plate is not bad. Flavor was ok. Nothing special. They don't have a lot of dim sum options here and looks like many of their items are very standard dim sum that you find at many dim sum restaurants. The restaurant itself was very busy when we showed up on a Saturday (at around noon). Wait for a table without reservation was around 30 mins. There is a parking lot at the back but it was full and doesn't accomodate everyone dining at the restaurant. You pretty much have to find street parking. The restaurant itself is quite big and clean. I do like the decor here. Food was not bad. Everything was fresh and tasty. Only complain is that they were quite standard and average for a Chinese restaurant. Note that they charge for take out box and bags here. So, I don't recommend ordering take out here. This charge is not a requirement or city/municapality requirement because this Lee Garden is located in Burnaby and not in Vancouver.

fried shrimp spring rolls with garlic, $9.88

was invited to lee garden seafood restaurant for sum dim in burnaby, located on kingsway and colborne. it's on a tiny strip mall with parking available in the back. the interior is higher end with chandeliers and table cloths instead of the flimsy, disposable white plastic table top covers. like most dim sum places nowadays, there's no pushcarts here either, you have to place your order on a piece of paper. solid, authentic, and tasty dim sum, with all the usual dumplings, spring rolls, sticky rice, and more, but left me thirsty. prices range from small $6.88 to large $9.88, and specials from $10.48 to $16.98. this place was packed on a monday at 1:00 pm. reservations were made in advance for a party of five and we were seated immediately. take out boxes and bags, additional.50 it's too bad they don't have my fave, 'woo kok', deep fried mashed taro stuffed with meat covered in a flakey layer of crust on the outside.

If you dont know another dim sum place, this is another dim sum place to check out on. The taste was okay for me but it is pretty subjective and maybe it would be good for you who read this. So definitely come around and try it. Cheers!

Well lit carpeted and family style seating round table rotation Authentic Chinese food: good temperature and quality Fried rolls, steamed pork and prawn buns with egg custard, dumplings skin with shrimp and spicy bread was soft and juicy: wild rice with salmon roe, and finally chicken feet. Fried donut wrapped in dumpling skin was a sweet balance!

Almost forgot about this dim sum lunch I had back in February at Lee Garden! It was my first dine-in for dim sum in awhile. The tables were fairly spaced apart, and as it was a weekday morning, it wasn't as busy, which was nice. We ordered: 1. Sauteed Radish Cake with Spicy XO Sauce, Steamed Rice with Spare Ribs & Chicken Feet, 2. Steamed Pork Dumplings (Siu Mai), 3. Sticky Rice Wraps with Lotus Leaves, Lee Garden Special Prawn Dumplings (Har Gow), 4. Deep Fried Pork & Shrimp Dumplings (Ham Sui Gok), and 5. Pan Fried Rice Rolls in Soya. Everything was delicious! Definitely missed how dim sum tasted that wasn't takeout. I have also been here many years ago for a wedding, and I must say that it was one of my favourite 10-course meals that I've had at a wedding. I still remember it to this day. So good! Lee Garden is worth checking out.

Get ready for the price shocker on their food prices. I get it that it's Covid, but please - $23 for a plate of plain broccoli with garlic. That was their cheapest price. We also order vermicelli hot pot, shrimp and snow peas, along with seafood hot pot. We had been here before Covid and the food is still tasty. Their menu selection is about 1/3 of what they offered. Maybe fewer patrons due to Covid. They limit 6 people per table which is spaciously set apart. It's unlikely we'll be back. I didn't even check if there was a 'Covid' tax charge.

Horrible service. From front of house to staff. Nobody will acknowledge you as they are swamped with customers on weekends. You have to get their attention. Default language is Cantonese. So if you do not speak it, you may not understand what is going on. They will switch to English if you do not speak Cantonese. I received slightly better service after I saw one staff spoke in Mandarin to another customer, and I spoke to them in Mandarin. I was there on a weekend and I was told it would be an hour wait for a table. So I decided to order take out instead. I was told it would take 15-20 minutes so I waited. But the food was not ready after 20 minutes and the staff did not inform me, and I had to get their attention to ask them about it. It took a while for them to check on the status and was told it would be longer. I was not happy about it as I did not have the time to wait, and at the rate it would be ready, it could be 45 minutes. Then I might have as well waited the hour for a table instead. I told the staff that I could have been informed about the time before I placed the order. So she went back into the kitchen and came out with the food. I ordered the shrimp dumpling (har gow), BBQ pork bun and the chicken with rice and dates. The chicken dish was the one which required more time to be ready, and I could tell it was just 70% done. The rice was still hard, and the chicken was parts which could not be served in other dishes. It was all bones and had very little meat. The dish was already tasty if it was done well and if the chicken had more meat to it. Unfortunately it was a rush job so it was bad. The har gow was nice though the skin was of the thick kind. Same with the buns, Too much dough. I could see why it would be popular as there are not many decent dim sum restaurants in this area. The food is pricey for what you get. I think I will rather travel all the way to Vancouver or even Coquitlam for dim sum in future. The parking spots in the rear are tiny, mainly because most of the customers drive big vehicles. So be careful that your car does not get dinged. It may be safer to do street parking instead.

Scallops n pea shoots rice rolls

Lee Garden Seafood restaurant is located on Kingsway and Colborne Ave in Burnaby. My parents-in-laws doesn't like to Richmond for dim sum coz too far away and pricey dishes. Anyways, let's try Lee Garden. We didn't make any reservation but we arrived at 11ish. They were super busy and we waited over 20 mins before got seated. When I walked in, I saw huge dinning room with simple and causal interior. Scallops n pea shoots rice rolls - the rice roll freshly prepared but a bit thicker than what I used to. Spring rolls - it's just ok, nothing special. Steamed BBQ buns - too much sauce and chewy char siu, sweet savoury buns never be my favourite. Shrimps dumplings - the skin pretty thick and filling just ok. Steamed vegetables dumplings - fairly poor doughy! Thick skin and lack of filling Tripe and tendon - it's tasty but salty. dumplings in soup - bamboo putt, dried scallops, shrimps and a bit loose group pork, the broth heavy in MSG. Spareribs n chicken feet clay pot rice - spareribs pretty fatty and tiny. Chicken feet - it's juicy and flavourful Overall, the dim sum just average but slow service. Not good enough to make me return.

The food court itself is full of different Asian cuisines, and this stall definitely stands out. They offer a wide variety of Shanghai-style dim sum, including dumplings, wontons, rice cake, several meat noodle soups, and some combo rice dishes. I ordered the Sichuan Style beef noodle soup, and it was surprisingly delicious and spicy -- the broth was flavorful, and the beef was incredibly tender. Even though it's just a small food court stall, the quality of the dishes makes it worth a visit. If you're already exploring Crystal Mall or craving some quick and tasty Shanghai-style snacks, this place is a solid choice.

Big size and very delicious. I'd ask for extra dipping sauce (or the chill oil if you like spicy). These can get messy if you don't be careful. Take a small bite of the skin first and sip the soup inside before diving in. The soup is very hot, so I usually pour it onto a spoon and drink it from there. #13 is translated as "Steamed Mini Pork Buns" in English and Shanghai Xiaolongbao in Chinese on the menu, which is misleading. When I ordered it last time, it turned out to be the same buns as #14, just steamed instead of deep-fried. They're large and not mini at all like traditional XLB. Personally, I didn't enjoy them as much as the fried version and wouldn't order them again. They tend to stick together and aren't very to-go friendly. #14 is the star here, and it's absolutely worth coming back for.
