There's not much going on for Chinese Food on the northside, but sun sun is actually decent for what it is. My go-to is general tso chicken and I ask for it to be extra spicy each time, and they do well with that. I usually just play safe and this menu item doesn't disappoint. Service for me has never been an issue, however, one time the person handling phone calls and the register was talking trash about the person on the phone, lol. read more

The wonton soup is garbage they use beef broth or something... the stock is brown. The egg drop is good and so are the crab rangoons... I will give credit for the sweet and sour sauce, it's the best I've had in a long time. But, seriously... fix the wonton soup! It's awful!!! read more

Okay guys, your food is always decent to good. We had egg foo yung. Gravy was missing. And the foo young was floating in oil. No biggie paper towels fixed that. Still no gravy. They need to improve a lot starting with how they answer the phone. There a woman who answers the phone always has a bad attitude. The driver came and my total was $28. I gave him $43 and asked for a ten back. He said he could not break a $20 and I should have told them I needed change. When I said I'm not asking you to break a $50 or $100 he replied "is it too much for you to give me a larger tip? Are you kidding me??? If you want a better experience, eat somewhere else. read more

I do not recommend! My husband and I ate there last night, within an hour both of us were extremely sick! Food poisoning! We have been in the emergency room all morning, and the woman that ran the register was extremely rude! We used to go there all the time but I promise you I will never be back! read more

This is definitely my "go to" spot for my Chinese food fix I've grown to enjoy the cuisine along with the customer service. There are times when they are slammed, and I've found that their customer service doesn't service take a hit. I admire that. I've also never had any issues with my order being incorrect or missing items. The prices are standard fare and the taste on par with other places I've tried. Keep up the good service and quality and I'll keep coming back! read more

I been going to this place for years and the food was really good. Recently they have changed cooks and the food has not been the best. I have had my order wrong and had to return food on several occasions. I think it was better when they had authentic cooks. I'm going to look for another Chinese restaurant for now. Food is too expensive and I don't have money to waste. read more

Sorry excuse for Chinese food...the only good item on the menu is the crab ragoons. If there was zero stars or negative stars I would have given zero to -10. Drive up to Dunn Ave and eat at Chan's restaurant, they are the best on the north side of JAX. This sun sun restaurant food is nasty. Do yourself a favor & eat some where else. read more

The food has always been pretty good but the. Grumpiness of the staff has gotten worse over the 12 years we've gone there. If I'm spending all that money, a little courtesy now and again wouldn't hurt. Also there have been so many times they've left something out of the order , like the rice , or giving my wife her meal only to find out there's meat in it. She's a vegetarian. No apologies, they don't do that. Just oh, I'll put it in the computer. I wish they cared because there aren't that many places to eat out our way but there will be soon. read more

We have ordered from here for many years. The past 6 months our order was always missing items. When call they blame the on-line ordering. Will credit or send a driver " when available. Tonight I called it in- waited on hold then placed order. The order arrived with 2 items completely wrong and missing an item. When I called the man admitted it was their mistake but in order to get it corrected the wrong items had to be returned and zero money was refunded. Not sure what they do with the food returned that has sat on my counter for an hour. We ordered $90 of food not including delivery tip for the driver. Time to find another restaurant that will hopefully have good food and good business practices. read more

Love Love Love this place! They have my favorite bone in ribs and second favorite boneless ribs. Their sauces are phenomenal from the dipping sauce for the dumplings to the Mongolian beef sauce. Just great! Their House LoMein is definitely a must have. Our orders are always correct even with our little tweaks. I loved them before the pandemic, but I definitely realized how much I missed them when they were closed. Only things keeping them from 5 stars are their egg foo young gravy (not a lot of favor and very thick and starchy) and the fact that they up charge for anything other than pork fried rice on combos where most will do chicken as an even sub. They are fast and i recommend calling your order in. read more

Their Google and Yelp reviews were all over the place so I decided to just judge for myself. I love they're open most nights until 10:30. The food was good even at 10pm which is when I got home to eat it. I judge most Chinese food restaurants by their hot & sour soup because it's my favorite soup. If they can't make it good then throw the whole restaurant away. Sun Sun Garden has good H&S soup so I'll keep them. I also got the S&S chicken which was good. One thing that stood out is that even late at night, the food was fresh. If you've ever had stale CF, you'd know it. I didn't have any CS issue, my order was take out. This will be one of my new go-to CF spots. They're NOT the closest to me but I'll drive the extra 5-7 minutes for fresh, good food. AND their fortune cookies are good. I ALWAYS eat my fortune cookies and some I've had in the past taste like barely edible paper. read more

The quality of food and service has significantly declined in recent months. The last time I ordered, my egg foo young was burnt and today, my fried rice was stale. I went into the restaurant to pick up an order a few weeks ago and observed the staff arguing and not being attentive to the customer. I will definitely be seeking a new establishment for Chinese cuisine, which sucks because the location of Sun Sun Garden is extremely convenient for me. They need to re-evaluate their entire operation and learn about true customer service. read more

The food is great but the customer service is terrible. I received the wrong order... No problem. I call back and just let them know. The receptionist claimed I didn't tell her I wanted the order plain. She proceeded to go back and forth with me and told me they could re-deliver the correct order if I paid ANOTHER delivery fee. If you eat here... Keep a copy of your receipt and start recording yourself when you order. read more

I'm a native of Oregon, so no Chinese food in jacksonville can compare. With that being said Sun Sun Garden is definitely one of the best that I've tasted so far. We usually do delivery. Everything I've tasted has been good: fried chicken, garlic chicken wings, shrimp lo mein, shrimp fried rice, spring roll, shrimp egg roll, generals chicken and any of their seafood with vegetables. Called at prime time -6pm. The employee who answered the phone was taking multiple orders and needed to put me on hold. She was proficient and professional. The food is your typical Chinese strip mall food, which is fine, but good luck getting your order correct. The first time I ordered from this establishment I paid for chicken with mixed vegetables and got no chicken, only the vegetables! I decided to give them a second try. This time my family ordered several entrees , one being sweet and sour chicken. When I got home, I realized there was no sweet and sour sauce with the order. So I would advise anyone who tries this place to check their order over carefully before you leave because chances are, it will be wrong! read more

First of all, Atwood P's reveiw states that "the Chinese guy"...go home you're drunk. Atwood P is an expert on national origin apparently and looked at his I55-1 card with a magnifying glass, also has a PhD in dumby stupid. Sun Sun Garden is my families go to place when we don't want to cook at home. It is great if you've been on the road all day and aren't up to destroying your own kitchen. I have ordered for pick up here dozens of times and have always enjoyed the dinners that I bring home to the family. The Tupperware that they serve with is great for re-use and they use real chili's in the spicier dishes. Staff is promt, friendly, and responsible. Thank you Sun Sun Garden for resolving a house divided when "whatdo you want for dinner" is a crisis in our household. read more

We've always liked the food at Sun Sun, but recently the service has become very slow and spotty. A couple weeks ago when we ordered, we were missing two of the appetizers we ordered, but seeing as how it was a large order and we hadn't had problems before, we just let it go. Tonight we ordered food again and got an email confirmation. An hour and a half later, our food was delivered so we called and they said the delivery driver had just left with our food. Another hour went by and still no food. When we called again they blamed the email system for not printing the order ticket. No explanation for why we were told our food was on the way the first time we tried to remedy the issue. We had to cancel the order. read more

I gave it two stars because the service was very good and the view was decent. I am Chinese... born in Hong Kong. So I know what dim sum should taste like. They're at 10586 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin with a nice size parking lot so their location is great and parking isn't a concern. I'll get to the food in a minute but I'll start by saying that before we opened our fortune cookies at the end, I jokingly said "I hope one of these says 'you will get your original Facebook account back". They didn't say that but I included a photo of both because I feel like they're close enough As far as food goes, we split the Peony Sampler for an appetizer and loved it. It definitely did it's job as a sampler because now we know we like all of their appetizers and would order any of them on their own in the future. I ordered Egg Drop Soup after that because it's a favorite of mine. I always add a little salt to their version of it but I add salt to a lot of soups so that may just be a "me" thing. I had the Sweet & Sour Pork with Fried Rice for my entree, which is the same things had last time and it's still great. Between the appetizer and the soup and the entree, I was hoping to have enough to take home for lunch tomorrow and I definitely did. My wife had the General Chicken. She really liked the sauce because it was sweet but has a little bit of spicy kick to it. She said the same thing I said about the chicken itself; she loved that it was big pieces of juicy white meat. She was also surprised by how much she liked the broccoli which made for one of those things where you could get a bite of everything at once. She also had a lot to take home, so she's happy with that too. Thank you again to the person who posted about Peony in the group recently. We had a great lunch thanks to your reminder.

The restaurnat itself was vacant when I ordered. i ordered ateamed chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce on the side with a ice tea to go. Not a complicated order at all. The food was nice and fresh. During Covid, this restaurant alwys had a line literally on the sidewalj. It is off Baymeadows amongs Mamma pizza and Walmart. I was so enthralled the my order. I forgot to take a picture for Yelp. One of the few places that I liked the steamed brocccoli. Next time, I will order chicken and shrimp! See ya soon China Dragon!
