Amazing!!!! This is my second visit and I have been delighted both times. Last year I had the Bird Breakfast Sandwich. Today I had the Quinoa Porridge, which had so much flavor! I wasn't sure about the pickled cranberries, but they were tasty and added a bit of spark to the mix. And the coffee is delicious too. Let's start by presenting my bias- I want to live here. It seems like the place you can bring a book and stay for hours. *hard to find, in a shopping center with Orleans Yoga. Atmosphere- welcoming hipster vibe. It's a large store with ample seating. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and full of suggestions. Eats- the iced coffee is cold-brewed and I cut mine with half decaf iced coffee, which they don't always have. The coffee has a nice dark flavor with slight sweetness and citrus undertones. A little almond milk, and it's perfect. Agave and other milks are available. There are delicious and creative-sounding sweet and savory treats with an emphasis on vegetarian and gluten-free. The pistachio cookie sandwich filled with chocolate ganache (lemon filling also offered) is the size of an ice cream sandwich. It's not overly sweet but decedent and rich. read more

We loved this place. It was super busy so seating was tough but we managed but the food was awesome. We ordered the grilled cheese with an egg for breakfast for my son. The bread was awesome!! We devoured it We also ordered the breakfast sandwich for the 4 of us. It was so good. The egg was how I like it, a bit runny and the flavors from the dressings on it were delicious. We got the Mexican chocolate donut which was moist, chocolate but had a dab of spicy pepper on it. We also got a warmed chocolate cookie which was delicious!!! The coffee was excellent and I loved how they offer me almond, soy or regular milk for my latte. Not many places do this so I was excited to have an option. I was visiting family, who had rented a place in Orleans over the holiday, and we were fortunate enough to have discovered the sunbird. The food was perfectly dialed, the menu was imaginative yet rounded enough for the adults and kids to be happy, and the staff were friendly and gracious. I've spent a week trying to recall any part of the experience that wasn't perfect and the only thing I can think of is that it's not closer to where I currently live. Nice work guys, you are a real gift to the area. My new favorite place at the cape! Stopped here after reading several reviews on Yelp. My friends and I enjoyed the easy going atmosphere, and the patience of the staff, as we attempted to order before having any coffee!! Their food was artfully prepared and delicious. I felt a little left out getting frittata, while all of my friends enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. I almost went and got one but knew I would be to full to finish. I plan on getting that next time. A couple of us also shared some fresh scones :) coconut lime and lavender honey were the two featured that morning. Both excellent. I can't decide which one I liked better. The one flaw I'd like to point out is the entrance is a little hard to find. The large sign is a giant O shaped birds nest, with a smaller "sunbird" sign underneath. It was a little hard to find while driving by, however it is definitely worth the search. If you're in town it is definitely a place to check out! read more

Every time we come to the Cape we find a new favorite and this one is a gem! There is nothing better than a small menu when everything is perfection! The heirloom tomato salad was DELICIOUS. So, I have been to Sunbird twice this week, and I am embarrassed and sad that I haven't been coming here since it opened. Ate in earlier this week... Staff: amazing and cool. Really nice people. Food: soup last week was crazy good. Apple and rutabaga puree. Usually not something that appeals to me but something told me to get it. I have been dreaming about it ever since. Best and most interesting soup I have had in decades. Such cool and tasty garnishes that all just worked... Griddled cheese sandwich... I mean, who doesn't love one of those, but Sunbird's sandwich is beyond the pale. I haven't tasted anything so delicious in a long time. Smoked mozzarella that almost tasted like there was bacon in the sandwich. Crazy good. Side of bacon on greens. Best bacon EVER. greens perfectly dressed with amazing vinaigrette . Take out today.... Again, got the soup (vegan mushroom) blew my socks off. Also got the pork sandwich that was epic... oh, and another bacon and greens side because... there can never be enough pork in my life. Small menu - but delicious. The kimchi grilled cheese was outstanding. Smoked mozzarella cheese and kimchi made an outstanding lunch. The seating/eating area is unconventional - some 4-top tables, a row round table, a large high top table and a row of counter seats along the window. The menu and clientele are hipster - an interesting contrast with almost everything else in Orleans. We were there at a busy time and it took a long time for our sandwiches. The suggestion of a blackened fish (I can remember the type) was an excellent addition and was exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere is low key and great for small groups or individuals. There's plenty of "individual seating" looking out the window, so you don't feel totally awkward when eating alone. If you're on your way or coming back from the Cape Cod National Seashore, you could do much worse if you need a pit-stop for food. This is definitely a more modern restaurant than I was expecting - especially for where it's located. I stopped in for a light brunch before doing some beach walking on a rainy August day on Cape. There was a good amount of people in the restaurant, but we were able to snag a table after ordering at the bar. I went with a bloody mary and the yogurt & granola. My vegetarian girlfriend was happy to see quinoa on the menu and enjoyed it too! I didn't try the coffee, but I'd be suspicious based on the reviews... Great brunch stop on a busy Cape Saturday. My breakfast sandwich had delicious local bacon, egg and citrus mayonnaise on ciabatta with a few greens. It was perfectly balanced and delicious. My friends quinoa with greens included fresh summer tomatoes which she loved for their perfect flavor. With iced tea, this meal started out afternoon beautifully.
