It's a Shellebratory Dinner Sunbury Crab Company is the bomb! I've been eating here all my life and it is hands down my favorite restaurant! It's in a weird location and it's a little hard to get to from the road, but GPS will take you right to it. It feels like you're going into nowhere in the middle of the woods, but its only taking you right to the restaurant. Sunbury is located right on the Medway River. You can even pull your boat up to one of the floating docks and tie up and go inside and grab a meal after a long day on the river. What I've done many times is be on the boat all day in the river and call in a to-go order while in the boat; and run by and pick it up on my way home. The service is so friendly and after many times of eating there I've never had the first issue with a server or bartender. This one visit recently the waitress was nice, but she did however spill a half full pitcher of ice water on my lap as she tried to pour it in my glass. The waitress apologized many times, but it was no big deal and the waitress gave me and my date a very generous discount that I told her she did not need to give us. I ordered the seafood platter and it came with corn, sausage, shrimp, and of course their signature food blue crabs. The meal was great, but the thing that caught my attention the most was the seasoning they'd put on the food. I picked up a hint on the old bay seasoning, but there were other seasonings I didn't know that really went with the flavors well. The sausage exploded with flavor as I bit into it, and the seasoning on the corn was to die for. Also, in the seafood platter they gave a very large portion of shrimp. I've lived on the coast my whole life and I know what good seafood tastes like, but their shrimp was the best I'd ever put in my mouth. The shrimp popped juice and they melted in my mouth as I ate it. Obviously, the name of the restaurant is Sunbury Crab Company, and the blue crabs are their claim to fame. I can see why that is, the crab legs were huge and had tons of meat in them. If you're looking to not get your hands dirty, then the seafood platter is probably not the way to go. I know after eating corn on the cobb and crab legs my hands looked disgusting, but I had no shame in digging in! My date ordered the ribeye steak and I made fun of her because who orders steak from a top-rated seafood restaurant? Even though I made fun of her getting a steak she claimed that the steak burst with flavor and was cooked perfect. The only bad thing my date had to complain was that her margarita was way too strong. One of the things I like so much about this restaurant is that it's so versatile. The restaurant is right on the water, so it attracts all walks of life. People come in dressed in nice clothes and some people come in just in bathing suits and beach clothes. You can go to Sunbury Crab Company and have a nice little lunch for not very expensive, or you can come in and spend hundreds of dollars on drinks and food. This restaurants head chef was also a winner of 2017's South's Greatest Chefs Contest. The head chef is also the owner and his name is Joe Maley, he and his family opened up the restaurant 14 years ago and it's still doing very well. The restaurant has been on many top-rated seafood dives lists, and I can certainly see why. The only thing about the restaurant that a lot of people would say is that it is a little bit more expensive than usual. They sell their seafood at market price and when you do that the food is going to be a little bit more expensive than usual. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, whether it's after a long boat day or for a date. Sunbury Crab Company is the best seafood in southeast Georgia. The food is very good, the view is very nice. But if you show up with out a reservation. The older blonde lady who I think is possibly the owner. Will treat you like s--t. We got there at 12 noon. the place was pretty much empty. Oh my god how dare you show up with out a reservation. I mean there was literally no one behind us. We told her we would be happy to sit at the bar. Oh no, she had to check to see if the bar tender was ok to seat us. How these people stay in business is beyond me. She won't have to worry about me inconveniencing her nor her restaurant ever again. So rude to customers! read more

Make sure to look at the one star reviews as this restaurant should have been reported to WTOC for the lack of customer service. Another situation we had with this restaurant is they will not sit your party until they are all present even though one person may be in the bathroom cooling off from Georgia weather. The rude lady that runs this place has no empathy to sit a party down even a party with small children that are hungry and on the verge of a meltdown. This was our first time here, and it was an incredible experience. The breathtaking views and relaxed atmosphere created a perfect setting for our visit. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our waiter went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. We started with the garlic Parmesan oysters, which were bursting with flavor. The blue crab and red snapper were both perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning to this amazing restaurant. read more

I love this place. We would have never found it if one of our friends hadn't recommended it. It's 10 minutes from our house so we are there all the time. Staff are so friendly and good at their job. The place isn't fancy, but you feel at home. I love looking out onto the water while we eat. I can't say enough about the food. It's amazing. Everything they have is so good. read more

Boy, is this a great place to eat, once you find it. Just enter the address in your GPS and it will take you right there. My son and his girl have been several times and had a great time.
