We came here the first night we were on island to celebrate my husband's birthday. I'd made reservations for dinner an online several weeks in advance. I was a bit disappointed to be given a tiny two-top table as there were several other couples seated at 4-tops and enough other open tables when we arrived early for our reservation. The menu had some interesting items, but they were out of (or down to the last one) of a couple items. Plus there were a few added nightly specials on the blackboard. I was surprised that haddock was the fresh catch fish of the day as I'd always thought of it as a northern fish. They start you out with a couple biscuits and peach jam for the table. We decided to share an order of fried green tomatoes to start. There were 3 slices topped with dollops of creamy cheese on the plate. They were good. After that, I had a lobster tail along with a side of skillet potatoes. My husband had a crab cake appetizer. Both were just okay. He said there was a lot of filler (60/40) in the crab cake. For dessert, we shared a slice of lemon cake with lemon curd dressing. The waitress brought it to the table with a lit candle as it was my husband's birthday. The cake was very good. This had been touted as the best fine dining option on island. It was good -- with an innovative menu -- but not comparable to other cities' fine dining establishments. We were still glad that we came to try them.

My wife picked this place to celebrate my birthday dinner. Reportedly the best restaurant on Tybee Island. Nestled in between a Liquor store and Convenience store, this place is charming and upscale inside. We were seated at a small two top and our server was there with water and menus right away. After looking over the beverage menu I saw one of my go to NZ Sauvignon Blanc wines, White Haven, and ordered a glass. We shared an order of Fried Green Tomatoes with Goat cheese which was three thick slices of green tomato with warm goat cheese which was delicious. I ordered a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake appetizer as my main and my wife had a lobster tail. The Crab cake was good with a 60:40 Crab:filler. The Lemon Cake with Lemon curd, strawberries and whipped cream (and a candle) was enjoyable. Thank you for a lovely birthday dinner!

My absolute favorite shrimp tacos! The food here is so good. The restaurant isn't huge but it's cute inside and the service was quick.

Figure it out for yourself everything I've typed so far said it was too wordy food was very good. Service was extremely good. Parking lot was small. Wasn't expecting a restaurant of that caliber being in a little ship store.

Sundae Café is one of those true hidden gems that completely surprises you. From the outside, it doesn't look like much--but once you step inside, it transforms into a cozy, intimate space with an upscale vibe that's welcoming, not stuffy. I ordered the 9 oz filet with onion rings and a side of sweet potato casserole (trust me, don't skip the casserole), and every bite was perfectly prepared. The gin and tonic was also crisp and refreshing. What really stood out was the service--attentive, warm, and full of great recommendations that made the whole experience feel personal. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and refined, with soft lighting and white tablecloths that make it feel like the ideal spot for a romantic evening or a special treat. Highly recommend if you're looking to elevate your dinner plans without the fuss.

This place is AMAZING! Do not let the fact they are in a gas station strip mall scare you off. Best meal we've had all weekend! Waitress was very attentive & helpful with recommendations.

Stopped here because it's a DDD. Omg the calamari here is addictive and i would be broke if i lived close to this place. Other food was good too but i was not a fan of the seafood cheesecake. Service was good.

Absolutely wonderful experience and food! Took our friends here for their 10 year anniversary and it did not disappoint! We made a reservation and were promptly seated. Inside the small strip mall lies a wonderful restaurant. Our server was polite and attentive. Two orders of the surf and turf, one pick your own adventure with filet (see photo) and one of the tv-famous grilled cheese sandwiches. The food was cooked perfect and everyone was too full to move. We ordered two desserts to go and they were both heavenly. This is a must when you're on Tybee Island!

This local tybee spot came highly recommended to me from friends as well as being featured on diners drive ins & dives. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. The service was extremely slow. We were at the restaurant for almost 2 hours for lunch. We had looked at the menu online while waiting to be seated so we knew what we wanted and ordered as soon as our server came. I felt really bad for the waitresses because you could tell they were doing their best however it took over 10 min to even get a water ordered and then we never got any refills. I ordered the fried shrimp which came with two sides. I chose slaw and sweet potato fries. The shrimp itself were cooked well however they still had the tails on which I found odd for fried shrimp. The coleslaw was terrible, not sure what the seasoning pictured is but it was not good. Fries were decent. The dish also came with hush puppies that were absolutely delicious, definitely homemade. Overall I would not say that the food outweighs the service and wouldn't be back, however my husband ordered the salmon sandwich and disagreed with me that his was worth it. One positive is they source lots of their ingredients locally.

Don't let the fact that this place is located in a small shopping center fool you. As soon as you step inside you are transported to a wonderful higher end dining experience. Our server was very knowledgeable regarding the specials and recommended the perfect one for us. Our food took a few minutes to get to us but she let us know of the delay and were having such a nice evening that it was no problem. Our meal was served hot, and was delicious. We visit every year and this restaurant will always be a staple on our rotation.

Do not get the coffee at Sea Wolf Tybee…read more In Sea Wolf's defense, our server told me as such. I ordered coffee, and he practically begged me not to. "Imagine Folgers... but worse," he said. I grew up on Eight O'Clock coffee--the only brand worse than Folgers-- so opted to brave the drip from Sea Wolf Tybee. How bad could it really be? Really bad. The Sea Wolf Tybee coffee was really, really, bad. The owners have made a deal with the barrier island devil where their successful establishment came at the expense of serving the worst coffee on earth. The coffee wasn't just bland, it was reeking with flavor, as if a tybee island horseshoe crab has been decaying in the coffee pot since the eatery was established in 2020. The server tried his hardest to prevent this 4-star review by warning me about the coffee, and in his defense the taste is not why I deducted Sea Wolf Tybee one star. I deducted one star because the vile 12oz cup of black drip coffee was $5 dollars. Like any diner at a lunch spot, I did not check the coffee's price before ordering it, assuming it'd be the standard $2-3 dollars. Even specialty coffee shops max their drip coffee prices at $4.50. Instead, Sea Wolf Tybee has opted to charge $5, rake-in a 95% profit margin, and exploit the trust of patrons who assume a cup of joe won't cost as much as Georgia's hourly minimum wage. I'm a former barista and coffee-lover, and $5 is the most expensive drip coffee I have ever encountered. Sea Wolf Tybee had outdone itself--the bill was more nauseating than the coffee.

Tourist trap: an establishment with the aim to attract tourists and their money, and typically providing poor yet overpriced services, entertainment, food, and other products. The first sign of trouble were the styrofoam cups, bowls, and plates, and plastic utensils. If charging $24-46 for "Dinners from the Steamer", there better be a tablecloth and proper tableware. My "Cadillac margarita" was Jose Cuervo and store-bought, bottled mix. The crab stew was gloop without crab meat. The french fries were the least unpleasant thing I had, but didn't come quickly from the under-heated frying oil. My wife's mussels were fresh and, in and of themselves, good, but they were served plain. No delicious Italian-cuisine-inspired tomato-based sauce for you! No baguette slices with whipped butter for you! They came with a single lemon wedge and a 2 oz plastic portion control cup of olive oil, butter and salt. This joint is a gloop-serving tourist trap. Go to Zunzibar instead! I'll post my five star review of Zunzibar soon.
