I've been to both locations. I think the Downtown location is a little more consistent, but I've had good experiences at both. Their BLT Bloody Mary is really good, and I usually got with the Popeye scramble, also consistent and delicious. During lunch I go with the Southwest Wedge salad which is delicious too. Breakfast for us today, ordered the scramble "Santa Fe" I believe with sausage, cheese, potatoes and unfortunately way too many jalapenos. I couldn't finish it because it was so hot with the jalapenos and I was very hungry when I arrived. Quantity was OK, nothing to get excited about. Rye toast was very good. Jalapenos ruined it for me and I li me jalapenos. One whole slice in every bite is too many. I pulled out at least 15 pieces that were all mixed in and still didn't get it all. Yikes! Ordered a veggie omelet from here, and I've never been more grossed out. I do have high standards for all-things breakfast, but how hard is it to make a great omelet? Apparently, this particular establishment has no clue. The eggs were runny, the veggies were undercooked and soggy and the cheese was hardly melted. Plus the hash browns were greasy to boot. The waitress on staff was not having a good day either, as she seemed rude from the get-go. I know the other location has gotten better reviews, but I can't imagine ever giving the Sundance Grill any business any where after this subpar encounter. Returning home from an overnight stay in Grand Rapids, hubby and I stopped for breakfast at this Sundance Grill location. This was our visit. There was absolutely no wait when we arrived, Saturday at 11:30a, and were immediately seated. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Along with hot coffee, we ordered fresh squeezed orange juice, good so far. Going off the breakfast menu, I ordered the Popeye Scramble (eggs, mushrooms, green onion, diced tomatoes, spinach and parmesan) which was very good. I added toast (marbled rye) served with strawberry jam and roasted potatoes. Toast was great, potatoes were average. Hubby ordered the Foster's Banana Waffle, he devoured the dish which came loaded with whipped cream. We ordered the Big Cinnamon Roll, simply because we wanted to be decadent...lol. It was massive and topped with an overload of buttery melted frosting. Hubby liked it, but I am not a fan of a danish-like dough, which this consisted of. Two small bites , and it was enough. Would have been thrilled to see it made "like Mom makes". Overall, a good visit and we will return. read more

The location in a strip mall out on 28th doesn't look like much from outside, but this Sundance still has the great southwest-style food, massive portions and friendly service. The food was incredibly bland. I had the chicken taquitos. Flavorless chicken, bland sauce. I didn't care for the rice that came with it. The black beans were ok. One of the worst restaurants for breakfast I've eaten! First off, the coffee was bitter and I couldn't put enough sugar in it. I had the queso berry french toast and it was just bread with melted cheese and a crappy tart berry sauce over it. It tasted horrible. I asked for my eggs cooked over medium and they were still raw inside. I let the waitress know and she was going to have the kitchen make new ones, but I didn't want to eat anything else after my experience! It was way overpriced for what they served. My friend got an omelet and she only ate about half because she said hers wasn't good either. Maybe for lunch it's better, I don't see how it could be worse! read more

Terrible experience from the start. Our server, Spencer spilled about a quarter of my water when he sat it down in front of me. I understand that accidents happen, but neither did he acknowledge it nor did he apologize and bring napkins to wipe up the mess he made. The quality of food was terrible and over priced. My wife's chicken in her stir fry was like eating rubber and non editable. I have had better burritos from Qdoba for half the price. We waited at least 10 minutes before Spencer came back to check on the food. My wife explained the poor quality and they did nothing about it. I normally do not complain about food so I didn't say anything about my burrito. However, an attentive server should wonder why only one bite was eaten from it and when asked if a to-go box was needed the customer said no. I would never recommend that anyone go to Sundance for a meal. read more

This used to be my go-to place with friends for breakfast or brunch. Notice "used to be." On a recent visit I noticed the new menu, the new "potatoes OR toast"--really, this is where they decided to save a few cents???--and the cheap piece of plastic they chose to have the increased prices printed on. I ordered an omelette, which turned out to be simply an egg pancake with a scant amount of (not) fillings slipped in as an afterthought. We were there at peak dinnertime on a Saturday and were one of only 3 occupied tables, but waited 20 minutes for egg entrees. Let's see...fewer choices, higher cost, less food and poorly prepared food...based on the numbers on saw on that Saturday evening, I'm assuming other diners have experienced the changes here and have come to the same conclusion: There are far better choices. read more

Had a beautiful Mothers Day brunch there yesterday. It was a 40 min wait, but that was perfectly ok seeing as we had no reservation and were walking in at peak serving time on a holiday. Clearly a very popular place with the locals! We were seated exactly within the time frame they specified, and our food and drinks came very quickly. The server was super nice and everything was yummy. Would go back again! Also, they had carnations for the moms on the way out- nice touch. read more

I got the Acapulco Scrambler that came with two tortillas, would've been better if they were corn and not flour, I enjoyed the burrito sauce they sautéd everything in and I really liked the crispiness of the onions and peppers. Had dinner on a Thursday evening. Surprised we were seated right away, for breakfast usually a wait. Server: friendly, knowledgeable, prompt. Menu: ample selection with good selection to choose from. If you want 100's of menu options, do not go here. Here food is delicious, flavorful and prepared very well. BBQ burger with pulled pork was excellent. My wife didn't want to share and only allowed me to have a small bite. Wet burrito: large portion, very flavorful, seasoning was excellent. Herbed fries were delicious. Key lime pie: not the best I've had but a very close second. Nice visit with manager. Normally eat breakfast here which is always outstanding. Equally pleased with very delightful dinner. Highly recommend. I've taken my family to the Cascade Sundance Grill for many, many years. We go for lunch and dinner as well, but we particularly love the breakfasts; it's our favorite go-to spot! Often we order Scrambles or Omelettes with Sundance Spuds plus the super-sized Cinnamon Roll is warm and delicious. An especially nice treat after golf, or anytime, is the artisanal BLT Bloody Mary; it is to die for, a meal in itself! Making our meals most enjoyable are two aspects: the staff is always welcoming and present, but no pressure. And across the menu, the food is fresh, high quality and a great value for the dollar. Many restaurants cut corners in this way, but quality ingredients, freshly prepared, appears to be Important to this establishment... and to us! read more
