We ultimately kept our Sunlighten Amplify sauna after it arrived with freight damage and reached a partial resolution with the company. The sauna itself is beautiful and functions well, which is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. That said, the customer service experience was far more difficult than expected for a premium product at this price point. The unit arrived with a damaged crate and visible cosmetic damage to the wood. Communication regarding the freight claim was inconsistent, follow-up was slow, and at times I had to repeatedly reach out for updates after being told tickets would be submitted. They only chose to respond after I contacted my credit card company. Sunlighten eventually offered partial compensation instead of panel replacement, which we accepted to avoid having to disassemble the unit ourselves. However, even after the resolution, communication dropped off entirely. Small details that were promised as part of the resolution were incomplete, which unfortunately reinforced the feeling that customer support became less responsive once the sale was finalized. I still believe the product itself is high quality, but based on my experience, prospective buyers should be aware that if there is a delivery or freight issue, the resolution process may require persistence and patience. read more

When I purchased my sauna (over $10,000), I was told by the sales staff that the heaters were completely safe to lean or relax against. Unfortunately, that turned out to be false -- I was burned while using it exactly as they described. To make matters worse, the sauna stopped heating entirely within two weeks of delivery. I expected a high-quality product given the price, but it failed almost immediately. Customer service has been a nightmare. Before I bought the sauna, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. But once problems started, their tone completely changed -- they became rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. I purchased a sauna a couple months ago and my handyman noted that it was infested with "gnats" when he was installing. I dismissed it-thinking it wasn't much to worry about. Turns out they were fabric moths. Now I have a serious infestation. The exterminator said they migrated from where it was stored for a week while waiting for installation. It was stored on an expensive rug. The rug now has nasty holes throughout it where they built their nest. They destroy everything and are very difficult to get rid of. I'm crossing my fingers we can get rid of them and nothing else is ruined. read more

DO NOT BUY! I've had the worst experience with Sunlighten. When purchasing my $16k sauna the sales people harassed me. Called me daily and responded to me immediately. When my sauna stopped working after 6 months it was impossible to get a hold of someone. I would sit on hold and talk to a different rep daily. Try to get their contact info so the next time I called in I didn't have to do that. But of course, they have "no direct lines." After shipping us several parts and having a tech come out twice to try and fix it it doesn't work. Now they are trying to tell me I have to take it apart so they can pick it up (when I already paid $600 to have something built that doesn't work). we purchased a Sunlight mPulse via FB Marketplace, newer model (4 years old), I called the customer service (December of 2025) number to get replacement washers/spacers as the original owner had misplaced them for the handles. Person I spoke to said they would be shipped out that week. We are going on TWO MONTHS and at least 20 emails and countless phone calls and still can't get it right! I spoke to someone this week that said she was sending out ASAP, too bad they sent A HINGE and not the replacement door handle that Jordan Ponder (Logistics coordinator) had promised the week before. Do not use this company. My parents purchased a sauna and had issues with heat maintaining so returned it. That was back when it had lifetime warranty. I purchased my sauna in 2018 and sauna failed up heat properly and customer service told me to remove heating panels while heating and during use to keep heating high which later I saw explicitly had warnings for health and safety to never do. Before agreeing to replacement sauna I let management know I wanted extended warranty so it would heat/work for 10 years. The manager was intentionally misleading and drafted warranty in way where it would not cover a (power supply over 500 ) which later on I was told was the number one thing that stopped working and they intentionally mislead me to think that was an inexpensive part to replace, 8 years later my sauna stopped working and I could not be more disappointed with diagnostic process and sunlighten support. Now it's been 6 months since my sauna stopped working and it's still working and they gave no idea why. Have no ways to test what is not working and regret my purchase and all interaction with the company. For the past several years I have been reading about infrared saunas and the benefits they offer your mental and physical health. At one point I was contemplating purchasing a pack of 5 sessions at a local spa. Then Covid happened and the spa closed. Phew! No loss on my end. My cousin who lives in Murietta, Ca, was telling me about her infrared sauna that she used all the time and it was in her house!!!! Really?! I was sooooo jealous! Then a few months ago I went to visit her and I got to check it out for myself. Wow! I was hooked. I immediately felt invigorated, positive and healthier. My skin was radiating! I found myself wanting to use it every day while I was there! It was just fabulous!!!! As soon as I got home I started researching the good and bad about infrared and asked all of my personal doctors their professional opinion. Hands down they said it was a good idea. I also looked at other manufacturers but was not impressed with the reviews. Sunlighten sauna's had a solid reputation and it is backed by the medical community. The health benefits and the design behind the sauna sold me. No, they are not cheap but financing is available and depending on when you buy, they have decent sales. (Remember, you get what you pay for) just sayin... I decided to go with the 1 person "Signature" birch wood sauna and LOVE IT! My sauna was delivered a few weeks after I ordered it. *It takes about 45 mins to heat up to 115-120 during colder months and quicker in warmer months. *Read the recommended temps and times. *Customer service is okay. I dealt with all men who were not warm and fuzzy. I prefer a mixed group of employees. *Putting it together from unboxing to completely assembled: total time 3 hours. Took 3 of us. *Videos they send via email were useless! Even the ones I googled stunk! *The instructions in the box, worse than IKEA. FYI - The pamphlet for the stereo doesn't explain how to connect the bluetooth:( I can use the radio and USB. Would like to connect my ipone to listen to my pod casts! HELP! **I definitely suggest dedicating a separate circuit breaker just for your sauna. I hired my favorite electrician to do it and also had him put in the special outlet required to run your infrared sauna efficiently. ***And here is the "million dollar" answer to the question you are all waiting for: NO, it does not use a lot of electricity to heat up/use. I have tracked it myself. Tops is 3 kilowatts. Pennies people. This girl also suggests adding weather stripping around the entire door. You can feel the draft. It will help heat it up quicker. Go with another vendor. These guys don't stand by their units. After only a few weeks of using the sauna, we had a failure code. I had a service rep tell me my units serial number was part of a batch of units that had an issue with power box failures. He then proceeded to tell me they wouldn't cover the part because my new in box sauna came from another vendor and not from them. So they admitted my sauna was likely affected by these bad power boxes (their fault) then fell back on semantics to slip covering a faulty product. There's policy, and then there is the right thing to do. The service reps chose to avoid doing the right thing. Says a lot about the character of a company. So after I shell out the money for the replacement power box, it shows up slightly damaged. Metal bent and damaged on it, so you can imagine the care they put into parts only to tell you they won't cover them. Then, I finally pulled the power box out and the VGA port and cable were completely corroded. So bad in fact that the pins from the VGA cable had sheered off inside the port. This from a new unit that was only used maybe 15 times. Sunlighten quality is sub par where it counts and they simply don't stand by their products. The saunas look great in pictures, but they are built extremely poorly. The tablet they use is slow and buggy, and other reviewers have said their tablets needed to be replaced for $1000. We've owned our mPulse sauna for less than 2 years and here has been our experience: - 15+ calls to customer service - 2 Heat panels replaced - 1 tablet replaced - 1 light replaced - 1 fan replaced Customer service requires you to pay for shipping of all replacement parts and install them yourselves. I recently updated the mobile app software and firmware and it somehow broke two heater panels that I will now have to replace myself because immediately after the updates the panels no longer functioned. Sunlighten Signature4 IR Sauna Let me just say that it is 2am and I just spent 40 minutes in my sauna. I could not be happier with the product. I am in it 6 nights/week and love every minute of it. The customer service is amazing. I need to be honest here, I put it outside in Florida. We built a 12x12 structure over the sauna and replaced the feet with 6" diameter aluminum discs. After 4 years of constant use all 10 of my heater went. I called Sunlighten and they replaced them at no charge. They were backordered, but I received them and now it works better than before. I own a sunlight signature spa. I didn't know much about spas so a physical therapist told me about the sunlight. When I contacted the representative and asked him if it would help people prevent cancer he told me yes. Problem is, $6,000 later I find out that the red light therapy needs to be right next to your body in order to be effective. I also confirmed this with my naturopath. You can buy a red light therapy belt that is more effective because you can put it right next to your skin on any part of your body. And also if you go on vacation or you just want to wear it around the house or underneath your clothing if you go to work it is much more convenient. I purchased a 3 seater m pulse sauna in 2020. The sauna worked ok the first couple years with no problems except that I could not get it to go beyond 145 degrees but that was ok for me. I had an issue with the tablet in 2023 and they replaced under warranty. They also had to replace 1 heating panel and the main power supply in the bottom around the same time. The sauna worked even better after installing and got up to 165 degrees. Fast forward to this year, my tablet quit, they did trouble shooting and sent 2 different parts which neither fixed the issue. When I called back I was given the price of 1,500 to replace the tablet and the power supply together. I was advised that they no longer carry the tablet I have now and the new tablets would not work with the power supply so I have to purchase both. I don't even know if that would fix the issue. I don't think this is good customer support to not carry the parts to fix units that's out of warranty. read more

I ordered a two person sauna from sunlighten and I looooooooooove it. It was definitely worth the investment. I decided to take the plunge when I kept hearing and reading about all the health benefits of using an infrared sauna. It gives me a reason to make sure I take time out of my day to do some self care and relax. I've been using it about 4-5 days a week and it has helped me with my sleep patterns and with my muscle recovery after my workouts. I love how modern it is. I can watch videos or hear music inside. I can also change the ambient lighting inside the sauna. My favorite is the red color so I can get some red light therapy at the same time of my sweat sesh. If your sauna malfunctions you will not be able to get the assistance you need to repair it. My tablet has been malfunctioning. When I call I have been asked to reset the tablet, reinstall the app, and even remove paneling to get the electrical wiring. Nothing has worked they have asked me to do. This has been going on for 10 weeks. To sum this up, the company is going to expect you to provide the service to your sauna. They will send you the replacement pieces (after much time) but you will have to install them yourself. If what they send doesn't work, you are out of luck. I had previously posted review in 12/23 and 01/24 regarding problems we have had with a 2011 Discovery Sauna from Sunlighten. During a move, we discovered that the unit had actually burned at some point (behind the heating panels). We worked with Sunlighten for the duration of 2024 to try to resolve the problem. We had 7-8 visits from service techs and multiple mailings of parts to try to remedy the issues. Nothing worked (trying to fix 2011 technology with 2024 parts). Finally, in 09/24, Sunlighten sent us a NEW sauna! We were so pleased with the end result; the new infrared technology has us back on the path of daily sauna usage! Sunlighten I originally purchased an mPulse Conquer Sauna in the fall. I was having issues with the sauna because I was not really sweating in it. Noah did a fantastic job of helping me resolve the issue by exchanging to the Amplify III. I love this sauna, and highly recommend it for those whose primary goal is to sweat and detox, as well as individuals with extensive experience with saunas (used to sweating, have heat tolerance, etc.). I am impressed with the Amplify - I have been able to get it up to 165 degrees, which is very high compared to other infrared saunas. The quality and design is superb. Very disappointed with the sauna and customer service. The marketing literature says "heats up approx one degree a minute." Well, now that we have been using it, it heats up maybe 45 degrees in an hour and then slows down significantly. It takes 90 minutes to reach 135 degrees and NOW they tell me that it never ACTUALLY reaches the max of 150 degrees. So, now they say "well, it ACTUALLY takes 1 to 2 minutes to heat up one degree and 3 to 5 minutes to heat up one degree after 120 degrees" - so now they are trying to say that it heats up basically 30 degrees in one hour - and that's normal. When I pointed out that their advertising does not say this, they stop responding. So, be warned. Do not believe the marketing - MY sauna heats up very slowly and we have to override the timer so that we can get into a hot sauna without running upstairs all the time to extend the timer (which only goes up to 60 degrees). That will also affect our electric bill because now we are running the sauna longer than we thought. So, buy another brand that stands by its marketing and promises. Update 8.23.24 NOW, I see Sunlighten has responded with "we'll change our marketing" not "We owe you for lying to you when we sold you your sauna under false statements." I love my Sunlighten Amplify 2 sauna. Kyle was my salesman and he picked up when I called. No pressure, a real pro. The Sunlighten is for you if you are freaked out that infrareds may not get hot enough. Mine gets to 165 and I promise that you are sweating in 3 minutes and dripping in 5. I put towels everywhere so my sweat doesn't mess up the wood. I like that there is heat coming at you from the front- a weakness in most saunas . The door in in the middle so the corner Heaters hit you from the front. Get the Eucalyptus, it's nicer looking , heavier and really well built. After 30 minutes I have sweated every bit as much as in a traditional sauna without the suffering. My next purchase: cold plunge tub for contrast therapy ! DSH read more

Terrible customer support. I purchased a Sunlighten Solo sauna around a year ago. I only recently started using it and noticed that it doesn't get nearly as hot as advertised (only around 100º or so, compared to ~150º advertised). I contacted customer support and after a few useless exchanges (like "have you ensured that it's plugged in?"), Lizzy E closed my case (case ID: 00352929) without any resolution! For something that costs $3000+, I'd expect much better support when something goes wrong.
