    Glazed Donut

So I came here on a whim, after my donut craving kicked in, and I absolutely LOVED IT! First of all, the customer service was AMAZING! All of the employees were so kind and helpful. Even though there was a pretty long line, they made sure it moved along very quickly! I ordered ONE glazed donut and they threw some extra treats in the bag. Such a sweet surprise! All of the donuts were so soft, fluffy, light, airy, and delicious! I also ordered one small jalapeno kolache, and large, regular kolache. They were fantastic as well! The bread was so soft with the perfect amount of sweetness. This is the PERFECT donut shop and I look forward to coming back. 100000/10 - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

when Sunny Donuts found me at a local 5k, kudos to angel that brought these!

The last stop I made in LA before relocating was the donut shop my family had been coming to for decades. I mean DECADES!!! I'm a Mom and Pop donut shop girl through and through, I grew up on them. Large chain donut shops are just not my style. I've always associated a donut shop with a pink box. Go watch the doc "Donut King" for context, if you haven't already. I'd finished a local 5k this past Saturday and to my surprise the real MVP sitting right behind the Gatorade and water jugs, beside the bananas, not one, but two!!!! boxes filled to the rim with mini cinnamon rolls. Good morning Candace!!! It was my lucky day. I had been saying I must find the best donut shop in town and lo and behold I think they just found me! I obviously had one, and later that evening made it a mission of mine to find exactly where these scrumptious little delights originated from. It didn't take long! I'm female you know that means I double as a detective ;) a few key strokes in Google later and I had them! Sunny Donuts on Coit. I knew I'd be paying them a visit Sunday morning. I arrived to a steady bustling donut shop. Everyone was so friendly and donuts were plentiful. I didn't waste any time asking if they had the mini cinnamon rolls and confirming my previous nights research. Bingo! I was correct. The mini cinnamon rolls are a specialty of theirs. I ordered a half dozen of them, a glazed donut and a cheddar jalapeño kolache. This is definitely going to be my new home donut shop. I'm not even going to shop around, they are it. Perfect yummy donuts, in the cutest bags and white boxes (: Highly recommend.

Sunny Donuts is amazing! Their donuts are always fresh, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Whether you love classics like glazed or apple fritters and cinnamon rolls, there's something for everyone. The family owned staff is super friendly, and the shop has a warm, welcoming vibe. They have been open throughout the snow storm and I couldn't be more thankful! A must-visit for any donut lover -- best spot in town! My personal favorite were the jalapeño cheese kolaches!!! Absolutely delicious and will definitely be going back for more! Ate them too fast for a picture!

Fruit cronut. A lil but chewy. More donut-y than croissant.

One of my favorite donut spots at the moment. The yeast donuts have adequate icing; not too sweet or too dry. The cronuts are more on the donutty side with them being a bit chewy (not my fave). This spot is def poppin' on weekend mornings before 9am (can't vouch for weekdays) so be sure to get there early for the best selection. Friendly service. Parking right in front.

THE BEST THE DONUT SHOP IN PLANO!!!

Fortunately, if you're not dining in, ordering from the to-go line is very quick, and there's even a comfy seating area in the front where you can enjoy your food and beverages. In addition to a double shot espresso I ordered, I also got a broccoli mac and cheese croissant. The croissant was expensive ($7.50), but it's hearty enough to be a meal. I wasn't offered an option to toast up the pastry, but I didn't particularly mind the coldness of the mac and cheese component of the pastry. The croissant surrounding the filling was flakey with nicely laminated layers. Meanwhile, the filling was satisfyingly salty and rich. Although the pastry was tasty, it's probably something I would only try once -- rather than something I would get regularly, due to how heavy the pastry ate. Overall, if you're looking for skillfully prepared, creative pastries, La Casita Bakeshop definitely fits the bill.

I made a reservation for my friend and I a few days early because they tend to get busy, and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was attentive and very friendly, and understood exactly what I wanted when I placed an order of the baked goods before anything else, since those tend to sell out as the morning progresses. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich special and was so excited I forgot to take a picture! The place was busy but the volume was never so loud that my friend and I felt the need to raise our voices, and the smell of freshly baked bread was very comforting. We left feeling satisfied and with plenty of leftovers. The price was also extremely reasonable, except for the box of desserts I ordered to go lol we did give the olive oil cake a try before departing, and it was delightful. Can't wait to get another chance to come back!

Inside has lots of sitting areas, but it does get filled fast with people who want to relax and study or read a quiet book to themselves. Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.
