I ran into this quaint little place by accident; it was just before lunchtime and I was hungry. They. Their prices are slightly lower than what I normally see. The food was good; there is a tip jar at register for cook . Because I seldom get my eggs yellow runny without white runny, I felt obliged to tip. Came here with a large group (20) for breakfast. Called ahead several days jn advance so they would have adequate seating and help. The good. The server was very kind and as responsive as possible. It took about 40 minutes to get our food (not terrible for a small diner). I ordered the campfire with bacon (hasbrowns, eggs, veggies, bacon) which was ok. I had to add a lot of hot sauce and salsa to give it enough flavor. The bad. They didn't have enough seating for us to sit together. We were in the same room (a back room) but had to sit at 3 separate tables. We only had 1 server and she struggled to keep our orders straight. The toast came out first but was ice cold and the food was just ok. The coffee was also ok but got worse by the cup (didn't change filter?) I honestly didn't even eat it all despite the high price. The ugly. Again, the server was very kind and accommodating so I want to give this a better review. However, by the menu price my bill should have been about $11. It was $15 with no explanation. They were unprepared for our group and the food was just ok (several people were commenting on how mediocre it was). Firstly I would like the say that the service was great and our waiter was very friendly.the ambiance was very nice too,it was nice to read everything while waiting on our food.but I will say the food was not the best,I ordered the todays special which was roast beef with toast,mash potatoes and corn,the mash potatoes were ok but the corn was bland and the meat was like rubber and tasted like rubber.we also ordered a half pound burger and it was disgusting.it was extremely dry and I nearly choked.we went for lunch but I think their more famous for their breakfast food. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant as an infant. I will be 37 this year. This has been a place of many breakfasts and lunch with grandma and grandpa, then just grandma and me , now just me. Although it hurts to lose a loved one there is one place that I can come to for comfort. The world can be an awful place sometimes. It is then I find myself making the three hour drive to have brunch to feel some type of whole again. Service is always polite. Wow! what an unexpected surprise. They have the best biscuits and gravy I have ever tasted. The biscuit looked like it was made from scratch and the gravy was creamy with just the right amount of chunky sausage. I was expecting a small portion of French toast and 4 pieces of bacon. A huge amount of French toast and long crispy bacon was served - almost didn't finish it. The server was very friendly. This place is "the spot" for senior citizens, at least, it seemed we were the only millennials at that time; however, the atmosphere was relax and calm - people seem to know one another chatting about hip and knee replacements. This is a hidden treasure in Huachuca city....SO I will absolutely return for more biscuits & gravy and try other great stuff on their menu. My guy and I went here a couple years ago on our way home from Bisbee. We loved it. Prices were good, food was the perfect diner breakfast food we were looking for that morning. The other day, we were driving home from Bisbee again and decided to stop in. It was busy. The only available tables were dirty. Not a problem, they were full. We waited by the sign that said "please wait to be seated". A woman came up and said "just find a table". We did. It was the only even kind of clean table and it was an 8 top. We watched as other parties were promptly taken to newly clean tables, given menus and drinks.... about 15 minutes go by and we're just about to leave. The same woman came up and asked why we were seated at a large table. We explained it was the only clean table and she told us to find a clean table. She gets us up and moves us to another table that had just been cleaned. Fine. Now we're excited to get to order. We finally do about 15 minutes later. We ordered at 11:58. By this time, the restaurant had cleared out significantly. Our server told us our food should take about 20 minutes. No problem. We watch as other tables who are clearly regulars get seated and served quickly and treated better. AN HOUR LATER, the server brings us burgers. We did not order burgers. She brought us food that belonged to a table that got there BEFORE us. We waited another few minutes, starving and pissed. We left. We were there an hour and a half. Never again. read more

Amazing!! We are staying in Benson and have eaten at this restaurant 4 times! Best diner ever! Seriously. Hand pressed green chile cheeseburger, twice! Fries and onion rings are perfect. Open faced roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, just like i remember it from my childhood. Sooooo insanely good i had zero leftovers! And breakfast one day with biscuits and gravy, all home made. This is a place you would drive right by if you didn't know any better. But notice how the parking lot is always full! This place is an icon for Huachuca City. It's family owned and the food is fresh. It gets busy early because the breakfast is so good. I personally like the Biscuits and Gravy (B&G), but the burgers are good, too. (The restaurant stops serving B&G after 1pm) There are three big dining rooms with both tables and booths. This was my first time here since a driver damaged the front wall of the restaurant late last year. The walls are repainted and you can't tell that there was a gaping hole in the front. The prices have been raised a bit, but food here is still a great deal. My most recent visit here was yesterday, after a Thursday morning hike around the historic Fairbank town east of town. It was 91F when we walked into this place. I was in a party of five and I had been the only one who had been here before. All of my friends thought this was a great visit. Our server Kim was a riot. We were hungry and thirsty and gave us a pitcher of iced tea and water because we were dehydrated after our hike. This time I ordered a Mushroom Swiss Cheese Burger with crispy French fries and iced tea, which totaled $9.57. (I wanted to order a Patty Melt but didn't see it on the menu.) Another friend had a chicken quesadilla and the other three had breakfast. The pancakes are huge, by the way! Yes, the building is old and is in dire need of a remodel. It can get loud and warm inside when it's crowded with people. The place opened July 1, 1994 and probably hasn't been touched up since. The food, however, is wonderful and this place has a strong following. I'm one of the followers! I wish they had longer operating hours, though. They are only open 6am-2pm every day. The server wasn't very talkative or attentive. This place is wonderful. It's larger inside than it looks from outside, but still there can be a bit of a wait, even if you're seated. The good thing is, they'll let you know that the wait for food is long, which is nice. Vegetarian review- the omelette was both plentiful and flavored well. Hash browns were standard, but crispy. I was super excited to try a mom and pops diner for breakfast, and I chose this place over Camino's. To start off with the waitress wasn't very friendly, first time customer, I was hoping for better. Although she did seem to shine to the "regulars". I ordered eggs with green chilis & hash browns mixed in, according to the menu. She explained they're not mixed in, it's a misprint. No big deal. My eggs then came (over cooked mind you) with some weird meat which I had to ask and find out it was roast beef. Not the greatest combo. I tried to tell the waitress I didn't like it, she tells me no one ever complains and we've been making it like that for years. That's not the point, it's NOT on the menu and usually you would get offered something to replace it. I suggested very nicely that maybe? they should update the menu or if someone orders it let them know about the mystery meat! But she took it personal and gave me some attitude. I understand if she's the only waitress working that morning and according to her talking to a regular, "it's already been a day." Be happy you have a job and know that a smile goes a long way! Friendly service but the service was very slow. It seemed to be very understaffed. The 2 waitresses on the floor were running (literally) from one side of the room to the other. When I asked for one of their basic menu items (chopped ham with vegetables, cheese and ham) the women said the cooks don't know how to make it. I quickly made another choice, though I didn't finish it because I didn't love it. The waitress brought out smiley face pancakes for my two young girls. When we said we didn't order them, they said, "oh, they come free!" While it was very kind, I wish they would have mentioned that before we had ordered our daughter a separate plate. Food was very reasonably priced, the staff was hurried but friendly. I love supporting small businesses. Free kids meal with adult plate. I haven't visited for a while, and this time it was very disappointing. We stopped in on the way to Lake Patagonia from Douglas. They were near closing time, so I do credit them with still providing cheerful service, BUT the food was a let down. The burgers were ok, but the fries had not been cooked enough and they were decidedly on the raw side and inedible. I noticed that they are slowly renovating and reinventing the place, and they have brand new menus with higher prices. I don't find the food to be worth the price raise, and we now will break for meals in Sierra Vista instead of here. read more

This place offers the best rustic American breakfast I've ever had. It's always a "delight" when I come to Huachuca. The pancakes are huge & not to fluffy. Honestly, just a 2-stack pancakes is quite enough for the entire day. Lol My favorite is the Breakfast Pancake Delight: 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, and 2-stack pancake. French toast & the waffles are huge as well & very tasty. It's definitely affordable & underpriced. The atmosphere is rustic & diners style. Nothing fancy. It's real country. I'never been during week here, but weekends is full house. You still get a seat immediately tho. However, you need to be patient due to the service tries to catch up with the traffic. I've been coming to this place since 2012, every time I come to Fort Huachuca. It's a "must see" place. read more

My husband and I went here for lunch. He ordered the rodeo burger, andi ordered the mushroom swiss burger. We both loved our burgersand we devoured our fries. The waitress gave us a whole tray of condiments to go with our fries, it had mayo, ranch, salsa, ketchup and mustard. Their salsa is delicious, and a little too spicy for me. Great food, huge menu, a favorite among the locals. Only one draw back - Kim! Lisa and Dakota are wonderful! They do a great job and are both very nice. Kim is awful! When I go alone she makes me wait forever just to get a menu - smiles at me as she takes care of people who come in after me. Once I get the menu - she's back in 2 seconds asking me if I'm ready to order. Once I order I wait forever - I can see my order up there getting cold! When I go in with my friends who have been going to Sunny Ds since it opened and know the owner we get great service from Kim. Because she wouldn't dare pull anything with them there. However, she did burn them too - another guest paid their whole bill and later told them - oops! She made them pay the bill too! So their bill was paid twice! Nice! read more
