French Fries are the kind that are so fried, you suspect if there are potatoes at all or just overfried batter. Cape Codder salad was surprisingly fresh, as was the grilled chicken that topped it. Today was the first time trying this restaurant. I can remember when this was a Friendly's restaurant way back when. This is a nice little place for breakfast, and when I ordered was the Eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and a side order of sausage patties. Eleni was my server and very friendly and prompt. The food tasted delicious, and for around $19 was a good price. I was very hungry so without the eggs Benedict this probably comes closer to between $8 to $12. I also ordered 2 chocolate milks. I was lucky to have today off, to actually try this place out. Although I look forward to returning. I will also look forward to trying other dishes from both the breakfast and lunch menus. I recently eaten at sunny side and i ended up getting food poisoning almost instantly after leaving the restaurant, i didnt mind at first i just wanted to call and let them know so they could be aware but when i called they denied that i was even there and there was no possible way i could have gotten it there because the guy who i talked to "worked ther for 14 years" so theres no way it could have happend and then he hung up on me, i had 2 eggs home fries and corn beef hash and btw the corn beef has was BLACK yes Black so to anyone who wants to eat there eat at ur own risk read more

My past few experiences here was been very pleasant and the food is good, but today I have never experienced such disrespect. First, our waitress gave us an amazing service, but it was ruined by the owner. The owner, (the old guy) is extremely rude and has no sense of customer service. He came to our table, interrupting our conversation to tell us to pay and leaving because this is not a meeting space. When looking around there was open tables and no customers waiting. While there had given my mom $100 as a gift when she took out her wallet to pay for the meals she must of dropped the $100 as she was putting her debit card back in it, went back in to look for the $$ and it was gone. For the most part this is a decent place to grab some breakfast if you're dining in. You will love their home fries. Customer service on the other hand is none existent if you are ordering taking out. Less then half of the place was occupied with four waiters. But I stood there for several minutes without any service before walking out. Dinning in you do get decent service. I would not recommend take out at all. The Mediterranean omelet was delicious, as was the breakfast skillet. My only complaint is that the portions are small, so if you have a big appetite be prepared to order larger selections. My family and I have ordered take out from here quite a few times here & today is my last time going there. I've only ever ordered take out here and every time I do they always charge me more than I ordered or add something I never asked for which also leaves me paying for more than what I ordered. The receipts do not tell you what they are charging you for just a total. So you must pay close attention. And today I told them there was a mess up on the menu and the lady went on to tell me the menus are old that's why & said "but this is the new extra charge". Mind you all the menus said the same thing. She continued to go back and forth with me and would not budge, I asked for a total refund and to stop the food because Her attitude was terrible. NEVER go to Sunnyside Cafe! They provide poor customer service. Gina, my server, got in my face when I disputed my receipt. You don't put 2 different prices on a menu for the same item and then charge the higher price. She actually told me it was a misprint and that they go by the computer. Screw the computer. Either charge the lower price on the menu, or get your damn menus fixed. The customer is always right. You don't get in the customer's face then call over another server to back you up. read more

So the food: this isn't complicated food it's breakfast and how can you mess it up? We ordered and our food was out in under 5 min. The eggs however, had a oily film on them like they were cooked on a greasy/oily grill...barely edible but I was starving. The bacon: hard, dried out with zero life left in it. He was yelling loudly so that everyone could hear for the waitresses to get the food that was up and getting cold on the counter. This went on for the entire time we were there. Service was not great, and the food was just ok too, but I would still give another shot to this place if not for this incredible display of rudeness. The kicker that sealed the deal for me was that I went to use the bathroom and while I was waiting I overheard the cook in question talking about a customer who had obviously complained. I found this place this morning after a quick Yelp search. We were planning on going to Newcomb Farms, but the line was longer than I have ever seen it so we headed down the road to sunny side. I was with my husband and our two sons (2 years old and 3.5 months) and my parents. There was a short line, but we were quickly seated. The waitress was fabulous, very attentive (even though she was extremely busy), kind, and one of the big reasons why I gave this place 5 stars. Other staff were also great and very nice and considerate. The food was quick and exactly what you would expect from a diner-like place like this. Oh man , this place has tons of potentials but they don't anything to improve it listen to the people. Most of my complains are about the kitchen , they are slow and the food is always over cooked.
