I recently visited Sunnys with a friend, we walked in to a warm welcome from the hostess and were sat immediately. I ordered the bomber and my friend ordered the nutty, which were both amazing. The bomber has roasted cauliflower, sautéed onions, bacon, potatoes, cherry peppers, cheddar cheese, all mixed together topped with eggs any style and an amazing roasted cherry pepper sauce that has the perfect amount of kick. I defiantly recommend this place. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes. read more

Amazing brunch!!! Yum yum. Eating the good night is a good way to start any day. It's a nice stop on the way from Denver to the ski resorts.

Breakfast in Denver is one of my favorite things and there are no shortage of places serving up eggs and a side of toast. But the good places, those are found by measuring out the minutes you have to wait on a Saturday morning, and in this cold blizzary day, the weight was about 35 minutes. My boyfriend and I found a space to stand amongst this crowded family restaurant. We grabbed a coffee and waited for our names to be called. I wish more restaurants offered coffee for you when you wait, it's the little things like this that make me smile . After about 25 minutes our names we called and we grabbed a little table. The staff here all pitch in and make you feel welcome, it's almost like eating in your moms kitchen when the whole family is in town! The menu offers all sorts of goodies, about 8 different benedicts, house specialties like huevos, and then my eyes hit the pancake section. The pancakes seem simple at first you can order just one, two or as many as you like, and then... there are drop ins!! Like peanut butter cups, and bananas!! I put my menu down aka dropped the mic and I was ready to order. I ordered two pancakes, one with the pb cups and one with the bananas, I also ordered a side egg sunny side up cause you know, protein. And dang this was my favorite set of pancakes ever. The gooey peanut buttery chocolateness was sweet and balanced by the warmed up bananas. I literally ate 90% of these when I was full at 50%. I couldn't waste this amazing dish! Pair that with a good strong cup of dazbog coffee and I had the perfect breakfast. I was so wrapped up in my breakfast I didn't even try what my boyfriend was eating but his looked super good too. He ordered the aji Benedict on Peruvian cakes with chorizo and avocado. He confirmed it was delicious. Even with the wait, and the snow and the people crowded into the front entrance to restaurant, this is gonna be one of my favorite breakfast joints in town! read more

Our restaurant was closed today so I got on yelp to find something near us and decided to give Sunny's a shot. I'm glad our restaurant was closed because had it not we never would of discovered Sunny's. I got to say the food is AMAZING! Definitely coming back and bringing the whole family. This place was also one of our stops for a breakfast joint that we must try out.we are always eager to try out new and exciting restaurants. When we came it was already at full capacity even the tables outdoors were full but we didnt mind waiting. It was a beautiful day out as well so it was a great day to eat outdoors if possible. About 30 minutes later we were seated and it was a table outdoors which was to our liking. The food here was ok just like any other place, but i must say somethinf about the waffles. I spend the majority of my weekends in Denver, and when I'm there, I crave Sunnys. It is a cute little hole in the wall with brightly painted walls and seating both inside and out. We love it because we can bring our pup and sit on the patio. I am a creature of habit, so I always order the two-two-two. Two eggs, two pancakes, and two pieces of bacon. I add cheese to my eggs, and they are always cooked perfectly! The bacon is AMAZING! They will cook it to your specifications, and they never disappoint. But.. The real winner here is the banana pancakes. They cook the bananas in the actual pancake, not just put on top. I think they must dip the bananas in cinnamon before cooking because they give this wonderful wonderful sweet taste. My boyfriend always try's something new. Usually the special.. The specials always are unique, but always have amazing flavors. His favorite part is the homemade strawberry compote/jam. TO DIE FOR. OH. And they use fresh locally grown everything. I had driven by Sunny's on W. 44th Ave. and Zuni St. a few times since moving to the Sunnyside neighborhood a few months ago. After checking the place out on Yelp!, and being both a fan of trying new restaurants and breakfast foods, I decided to head over the other morning and give Sunny's a try. When first entering Sunny's, I was greeted by the smell of fresh coffee and the sound of Bob Marley softly resonating from the speakers. This, paired with natural light coming through the large front windows, I could tell that this restaurant has a very comfortable, almost home-like feel, to enjoy your meal or a cup of coffee. A friendly waitress informed me to sit wherever I would like, and I was swiftly brought a menu and offered a cup of coffee. I looked over the menu for quite some time, going over each item listed and noticing that everything on the menu sounded delicious. I settled for one of their many Eggs Benedict specialties called the "Delish", and let me reassure you the name says it all! The mixture of mini pancakes, sausage patties, American cheese, hollandaise sauce, sunny side up eggs and a light syrup drizzle made a savory combination of flavor and paired with Sunny's homestyle potatoes made for the perfect meal that only cost $9.75. The overall taste and different choices definitely make me want to return and try other intriguing options on Sunny's menu. Overall, Sunny's has been the best breakfast restaurant that I have been to since moving to this neighborhood. The meals are reasonably priced and have a slight spin on the traditional eggs benedict if you're wanting to try something that is creative. The staff is very friendly and provide excellent and quick service, whether it be getting your coffee refilled or your meal in a reasonable amount of time. I feel that Sunny's is one of the best options for breakfast in this neighborhood and highly recommend it to anyone who loves breakfast as well as a friendly and mellow environment. read more

Average food, poor service. We were finishing our coffee in a serious conversation when manager came and asked if he could fix us some coffee to go. Accepting his request to clear the table, we said yes, then he asked if we wanted to put the to go coffee on a second check. This was my second visit to Sunny's. The food is really unique and delicious. My Dad and friend both had the Good Night. Who needs a sandwich made out of two grilled cheese sandwiches that has chorizo, avacado, and boursin cheese? My Dad and Best friend do! Way too much food for me but they both loved it. My mom and I just had plain old bacon and eggs. The bacon was well done and the house potatoes are really good. The food is great and the place is clean and cozy. The only negative was the service. One server was really good, happy, efficient and on top of things. The other server? Eh not so much. I had to grab my own water, get sugar from another table and when I asked for creamer I was handed a creamer container with barely enough creamer for a half a cup of coffee. Disappointing considering the vibe and the food at Sunny's are so cool. Cheer up-you could be slinging hash at Denny's. Give Sunny's a try-very good! read more

I've been to Sunny's quite a few times and it is one of my favorite spots in north Denver! There might be a wait on the weekends, but it's worth it. The Veggie Latke's are ridiculously good and I would probably trade my first-born for their pancakes. They have lots of great options for us vegetarian types, plus I hear the bacon is bangin'. Their staff is just the right amount of sassy for Saturday brunch, and always very attentive to make you feel at home. You can't go wrong with this laidback breakfast joint. read more

I've been here twice in the last few weeks and boy, I'm a fan. The first time we were told we'd have to wait a while and it only ended up being a few minutes. Today the wait was a bit longer but it was totally worth it! Also, free, freshly brewed coffee while you wait. My friend and I each got the same thing we got last time; her - the Canoli Waffle with a side of bacon. This meal drug her out of bed after working an overnight shift and getting too-little sleep. Must be pretty darn good. I got banana pancakes with chocolate chips - last time the the bananas were IN the pancakes, which I prefer...this time they were on top. Not a big deal, still delicious, just inconsistent. We each got iced chai as well - tasty. Our other friend got the Rhody which she really enjoyed. All in all a great place for brunch! I live for the seductive smell of freshly cooked eggs and oven roasted hash potatoes, the sounds of people eating their first meal of the day and the sight of the early morning sunlight cascading through the windows to give the space natural light. Sunny's, the local breakfast venue of Sunnyside neighborhood in the Highlands, is exactly the kind of place that you always see but never actually go in to. When I visited the quaint eatery the instant feeling of warmth and comfort flooded my senses before I had even sat down at the simple table set up. The server was beyond nice, and brought me my Chai tea as soon as I placed the order. The tea was delicious, sweet like a latte but still contained some spice to form a nice 1 - 2 punch. The Big Breakfast plate was brought to my table not 10 minutes after the order was placed, and a breakfast feast was presented upon me. The over easy eggs were impeccably gooey and delicious, the bacon was crisp yet still fatty, and the potatoes radiated with flavor. The waffle was fluffy and light, a good compliment dish to my meal. Although the overall price was a bit high, a smidge over $16, the food and atmosphere of Sunny's was priceless and I eagerly await the day I forget about the restaurant and am pleasantly surprised on discovering it all over again. read more

I stopped in for breakfast this past Saturday. The place is top-notch. The menu is diverse. You can get relatively a relatively traditional breakfast; but there are also a lot of awesome specialties you won't find anywhere else. Don't know how all those good ratings for Sunny's happened. Split the Big breakfast with my girlfriend. Eggs were the smallest eggs I have ever had. We ordered medium. They were cooked "hard." Potatoes were just ok. Waffle had no taste and served with hard butter that wouldn't melt on the waffle. Sausage was very spicy. Bacon just ok. Glasses on the table were dirty when we sat down. Place is very noisy. I wanted to try this place because it had such great reviews. (Several years old I think). I won't be going back. Wow I'm not sure how this place is getting 4 plus star reviews. We waited for 30 minutes at an outdoor table in the full sun with no umbrella thinking the food must be fantastic because the experience was not. We ordered the corned beef hash, which came with a very small portion of mediocre hash, a plate full of dry potato wedges and forgettable scrambled eggs. The blueberry pancakes were good but it's hard to screw up pancakes. Quite honestly IHOP serves up a better breakfast, we will not be returning to Sunnys. read more

I was really shocked about this place. We found it by chance on Google Maps because we were looking for a breakfast place. Despite the fact that it was a 20 minute drive, it was absolutely worth it! The food was amazing!!! The portions are huge, The Taste is delicious, and the service was amazing. I'm going to go as far as to say that this was the best breakfast I've had in my life to this day. And that's saying a lot! Nice cozy environment, however I can see that people might be turned off if it gets crowded inside.
