I wish the apartment building I lived in had an amenity like this. Having traveled to Istanbul a handful of times and being a self proclaimed bahlava connoisseur I can tell you this place is worth trying. The doner wrap was made to order and was tasty. So was the manti; not something that is easy to find in Denver. The Turkish coffee was also a standout and be sure to order the service because the rose flavored Turkish delight will find my way in my dreams tonight. That's particularly saying a lot coming from someone who generally doesn't enjoy Turkish delights. Service was ok... it's a grab and go kind of ordeal with no table service so I think expecting 20 percent on that is a little lofty.

Great place for casual brunch. Food: The beef borek and cardamom latte were stand out items here at Istanbul Cafe & Bakery. The dad plate had eggs with Turkish sausage, cucumber, tomatoes, olive, and cheese. Borek is a pastry filled with a variety of ingredients like cheese, spinach, or meat, wrapped in filo dough. Service was excellent. I would come back for the boreks and to try more lattes.

People were very nice. Food was great. Location is a bit annoying but I'll be back for sure

Visiting town and was pleasantly surprised with how good the coffee is here as well as how friendly the owner is (assuming he was the owner). A little bit of coffee talk and a delicious beverage to start my day! I wish everyday started this way :) Thank you!

Easily don't skip! A nice place for breakfast or brunch. Wide variety of baked goods sweet and savory. The menu is Turkish/ Mediterranean inspired.. eggs, veggies, dips.. (I'd recommend ordering 1-2 simits as a default) The service is so nice and welcoming. Plenty seating indoor and outdoor. Highly recommend and would try again if I'm in the area.

Really refreshing first meal. I love the whole foods represented on the plate. Cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, oil, warm crusty bread, cheese, Turkish tea and a bite of chocolate baklava to top it off. Super friendly, really understands customer service and making you feel welcomed.

I can't believe it took me so long, but I finally made it to the North Denver location yesterday. It's a cute, clean space- very inviting. I was pleasantly surprised that dogs are allowed- this could seriously be our new favorite spot!! Everyone working there was super nice. I'd already had breakfast and wasn't terribly hungry, but couldn't resist a snack. I had one of the spinach and feta pastries- yum!!!

We love this place so much. The service is amazing and the staff are so friendly. The Turkish tea is the best. Totally recommend this place.

Don't miss this great find! We were driving past and saw the sign for Turkish coffee. He couldn't pass that up! And as long as we're here... The Beef Borek is a wonderfully savory treat with just the right mix is spices. The Nutella Acma was a pleasant bread-y follow to that, and the Baklava is perfect with the coffee. We tried all three - classic pistachio, walnut, and chocolate. The classic is still our favorite, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is also fantastic. Friendly, smiling, and seem very happy to be here, even on a holiday.

I'm assuming the owner and his wife were extremely friendly and welcoming of all the customers. The food is authentic and delicious. The baklavas are well made with delicious pistachios from Turkey. We had the papa's plate for breakfast and everything on the plate was just perfect. They have sujuk/sucuk sausage. It's hard to come by in a restaurant but is a staple breakfast food in the region. I guess I have to mention the decor is modern and clean in newer mixed use building. Overall, we hope all the best for this delightful spot and wish their business grows. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sujuk

Food was amazing and service was great! If you need recommendations they are happy to help. My first time eating Turkish food and it was delicious. I was hesitant but it did not disappoint. Give it a try.

Been on the search to find Turkish manti, so happy Istanbul Cafe opened up in Lohi!! Offering a great range of Turkish pastries, both sweet and savory. Loved the ground beef borek. The baklava was also delicious, sweet but not overly saturated in syrup like they often are. But I came here for the manti which was definitely the highlight!

Terrible experience! They charged me $20 for a poorly made pide and a small cup of tea--not worth it at all. The taste was awful, and to make matters worse, the cashier had horrible communication skills and was downright rude. The food, service, and overall experience were the worst I've ever had at a Turkish restaurant.

A gem of an addition to our village in Denver. Superb coffees (and teas!) and a divine offering of baked goods, both sweet and savory.

Super tiny parking lot that only has a few spots, but plenty of street parking nearby. Inside is clean enough, but definitely doesn't sparkle. You can see the kitchen with the giant gyro rotating on the roaster. They do tons of takeout business. If you want to dine in for dinner, then I suggest arriving around or before 5 because the place fills up fast. Otherwise, be prepared to wait for a table. My co-worker tells me that the best thing to get is the special. So that's what I always get, and I never ever regret it. Special is the way to go. You get a nice variety of meats, garnished with onion and tomato, and a side of rice and flat bread. It comes out sizzling on a hot, shallow wok-like tray. It always comes with chicken breast chunks, shavings of gyro meat, and then whatever else he's made for the day. One on occasion, it was chicken quarters, lamb, and a sort of stewed beef. On another occasion, it was filet mignon, strip steak, and something else I can't recall. Generous portions, as it feeds 2-3 people. Great value. The chef/owner really cares too. One time, we were pressed for time, so we only ate a bit and asked for to-go boxes and a check. He had a very concerned expression on his face and asked if the food was alright. I assured him that it was great, but we needed to go to an appointment. Sometimes there's only 1 person working there (chef/server/cashier/busser). When that happens, don't be shocked if things aren't blazing fast. Be understanding, and support small businesses. This easily qualifies as a hidden gem.

If you haven't tried a Turkish breakfast it's time you did! My husband and I shared the Mom's breakfast which had so much food that we could barely eat it all. It included so many different delicious things! There was an omelette thing with some thin sausage, a noodle and egg dish with crispy filo on top, part of a baguette (with Nutella, cherry jam, honey & butter) and a bagel-like pastry with sesame seeds on the outside, hard boiled eggs, sliced cucumbers, grape tomatoes, 2 kinds of cheese, 2 kinds of olives...Everything was so good I want to go to Turkey even more now! I also tried their Turkish tea that was black tea with bergamot. But it wasn't at all like earl gray. My husband had to get his usual mocha and said it was nice & not too sweet. What a shame to expect good coffee to be brewed worse than McDonald's.
