Gave this a try after seeing if for a few weeks on Too Good To Go. Cute cafe inside of the lobby of luxury apartments. Display cases of the goodies of the day greet you as you walk in. I got 2 boreks and what looks to be a cheese, maybe feta, phyllo stuffed pie. All had a ton of flavor, especially the feta pie. Spinach and feta borek was nice but not overpowering. Super easy five stars! Yelp search, you really did me right when I searched for a good place for coffee and conversation near Leetsdale and Monaco. Who would have thought there would be such a hidden gem in a King Soopers Shopping Center? Well, think no more because this place is awesome! Holy smokes, everything about this place is fantastic. We had Turkish tea. $2.95 plus a free refill. Butterfly Walnut and also a Pistacio Baklava piece. $2.95. Carrot/Havuc Baklava. $5.95 for a slice of pie-sized piece. Great deal! Anything you order is going to make you smile and your eyes will roll up into your head when you taste it. You know what I'm talking about...that's how good it is. On top of that, the woman who helped us was super nice and made our experience all better. It's very clean and it's a perfect place for a nice conversation. They have alkaline water, and it's free I've never seen that before, at least for free! Nice touch!! There are plenty of savory things to eat. Great place for lunch or grab and go to treat yourself for later. There's no way anything I write could even come close to telling you what a great find this place is. If you're in the Denver area, definitely bookmark this place! I wish the apartment building I lived in had an amenity like this. Having traveled to Istanbul a handful of times and being a self proclaimed bahlava connoisseur I can tell you this place is worth trying. The doner wrap was made to order and was tasty. So was the manti; not something that is easy to find in Denver. The Turkish coffee was also a standout and be sure to order the service because the rose flavored Turkish delight will find my way in my dreams tonight. That's particularly saying a lot coming from someone who generally doesn't enjoy Turkish delights. Service was ok... it's a grab and go kind of ordeal with no table service so I think expecting 20 percent on that is a little lofty. read more

Great place for casual brunch. Food: The beef borek and cardamom latte were stand out items here at Istanbul Cafe & Bakery. The dad plate had eggs with Turkish sausage, cucumber, tomatoes, olive, and cheese. Borek is a pastry filled with a variety of ingredients like cheese, spinach, or meat, wrapped in filo dough. I can't believe it took me so long, but I finally made it to the North Denver location yesterday. It's a cute, clean space- very inviting. I was pleasantly surprised that dogs are allowed- this could seriously be our new favorite spot!! Everyone working there was super nice. I came here to get a to-go order. Employees are very nice. I even got a Turkish tea and sat there for about 15 minutes sitting on the tea just like I was back in Istanbul and in the street with the street vendors running around with the tea and sugar. Don't miss this great find! We were driving past and saw the sign for Turkish coffee. He couldn't pass that up! And as long as we're here... The Beef Borek is a wonderfully savory treat with just the right mix is spices. The Nutella Acma was a pleasant bread-y follow to that, and the Baklava is perfect with the coffee. We tried all three - classic pistachio, walnut, and chocolate. The classic is still our favorite, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. The staff is also fantastic. I'm assuming the owner and his wife were extremely friendly and welcoming of all the customers. The food is authentic and delicious. The baklavas are well made with delicious pistachios from Turkey. We had the papa's plate for breakfast and everything on the plate was just perfect. They have sujuk/sucuk sausage. It's hard to come by in a restaurant but is a staple breakfast food in the region. I guess I have to mention the decor is modern and clean in newer mixed use building. Terrible experience! They charged me $20 for a poorly made pide and a small cup of tea--not worth it at all. The taste was awful, and to make matters worse, the cashier had horrible communication skills and was downright rude. Great Food, Great Coffee, Great Service! Everyone who works here is so kind and welcoming. They generously gave us samples of many different pastries & baklavas that were all so so good and fun to try. It was tough to make a decision after tasting so many good things, but I ended up getting the tahini honey pastry and my boyfriend got a flatbread dish that he can't remember the name of. Both were great. The black cold brew was super smooth as well. There are so many dishes on this menu that I have never experienced before, and I'm excited to keep trying all that they offer. I was visiting Denver and wanted to grab a coffee - I happened to be staying nearby Istanbul Cafe & Bakery but was entirely blown away by the quality of the food and service!! The owner immediately gave a warm welcome and gave me a thoughtful walkthrough of today's pastry selections. I got to try a few samples and was attentive to what I was looking for. The environment is casual but the quality won't disappoint! These are definitely the best baklava I've had in a long time. The owner shared that they keep the ingredients simple and focus on the pastry dough (42 layers! Can you believe it?). I also got a Turkish coffee to-go and it was exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommend going to any of Istanbul's locations but this one is new and has plenty of seating space. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town! read more

Stopped in here, hoping for a decent pastry and a Turkish coffee and was surprised with a charming spot with delicious food! I was given a detailed tour of all of the food options along with several samples. The service was amazing and made me feel right at home! I had the Su Borek which was AMAZING and took a Tahini swirl to go. Delicious Turkish coffee and they had a wide variety of other beverages as well. Such a great place! Came to the Zuni street location that is relatively newer and so impressed. The owner was so sweet and made us feel at home. She was very welcoming and offered us tasters of different bakery items. All the samples we tried were delicious! INCREDIBLE! You'd almost miss it if you weren't walking by it or looking for it! We placed a pick up order for a doner baguette and manti - both were SO fresh, delicious, and authentic. It tasted homemade and we scarfed down the meal in less than 10 minutes (whoops).
