Amazing breakfast in the area. Friendly staff make you feel at home and if food is cold then they are more than happy to reheat it. We went during rush hour so had to wait for a bit. Everything was super fresh to a point that I ended up buying fresh loafs of bread from here.

Waitress was great gravy no flavor eggs not over medium lunch meat for ham hash browns taste like straw. Daughter had omelette comes with no hash browns or toast. Waitress was nice.

Stopped here to order breakfast while staying at the boyne mountain ski resort . This place is not on the resort but close to it a little further in town. I only stopped to order the Eggs Benedict to go . The place was pretty empty looked like it could use a bit of a cleaning but the staff were super nice. The eggs Benedict was ok .

First off, this business is CASH ONLY, which is ok, but the staff MUST SAY THIS PRIOR TO SERVING or EVEN ORDERING food. For the food, it was your typical hash browns and eggs. I got the stuffed hashbrowns, supposedly with sausage but there wasn't any unfortunately. Coffee for a diner type was good. The waffles are good but 12 bucks? No way.....very expensive for a waffle. The monte cristo needed more cheese melting over the deli type ham. Was ok, not great. The fruit parfait was actually the best thing we ordered. Service was good, minus the fact she told us it was cash only AFTER we ate our food. The atmosphere was ok, minus the awkward POOPING DOG picture up. All in all, too expensive for the food received. Our bill for the food posted minus a cup of coffee was $65.

Breakfast review only. I have had the pleasure of dining at Sunnyside several times. Very good pancakes and French toast. Excellent thick cut bacon. The omelets are pretty good as well. The bread is freshly baked in house and cut thick. With that said they only serve one slice of toast with their omelets which is a little stingy. How about 2 slices? The space is very casual with a farmhouse vibe. The servers are always friendly and welcoming. Sunnyside remains as my go to breakfast spot when in Boyne City.

I love when I find my version of a five star restaurant. We had brunch today at Sunnyside in Boyne City. Our first time and it won't be our last. It was so good. I hadn't had a Monte Cristo in so long. It was huge. And the hash browns were to perfection. My husband had their version of pigs in a blanket. It was all worth the wait. We will be back.

We stopped in this morning at 8am for an early breakfast before going back to ski at Boyne. Our server Nick was super friendly! We ordered a basic breakfast and build your own omelette. Both were very good! We liked the homemade bread!! We asked about the breakfast special and it was a waffle with vanilla pudding (almost like a donut taste!) We didn't order one but since they were taking a pic of one for their social media (I'm guessing) Nick gave it to us to try. We thought that was very thoughtful! Good food, quirky decor, and nice staff. We'll definitely go back next time we are in town.

Just had my fourth breakfast meal here in two weeks time. Today was just as good as the past three. That shows consistent quality. These are real people serving real food we all love! Spoke with Kirk one of the owners today, and he is what you want a restaurant owner to be, Involved and caring! I am afraid to make this place the go to spot for b'fast whether you live in Charlevoix, Petoskey, or Boyne, but it is THE SPOT if you want great quality food and service. This is best little breakfast spot. Quaint and warm atmosphere.Not only was the food incredible .... homemade quiche, biscuits and gravy, and berry loaded pancakes but the service was even better! The manager Katie was the most attentive, delightful server. Despite being slammed on a Saturday morning she was in the thick of it with her team and inspired positivity. What a fantastic way to start the day!! read more

Reopened with new owners in May 2019, now open 7 days in summer, Wednesday thru Sunday off season. We love this place and eat breakfast or lunch here several times a week. Family owned and operated - two brothers, their wives and a daughter. They all know what they're doing - great food, friendly service, moderate prices, nice atmosphere. Community-minded loowners ... joined the chamber, sponsored the local Pirate Festival, hosting Kiwanis Club breakfast meetings, etc. read more

Great little spot. Not many choices for breakfast in Boyne City but even if there were, we'd go back. I had the Stuffed Pancake. Husband had the Traditional Breakfast. Very good. After a few issues with some restaurants opening later than expected, we landed here. We asked for some recommendations and they recommended the apple chimichanga, the everything bagel, and the southwest wrap. While I normally am a fiend for anything southwest style, I decided to go with the chimichanga. It took a little longer to get the food, but I expected that with what we were getting. I would bit recommend this place at all. The food is overpriced for what size portion you get. I ordered the 3 egg omlet. It was about 3" x3" that is being generous it was probably smaller than that. My husband ordered 2 sausage patties one was about the size of a quarter. He had coffee and I had water it cost $25.00. The service was very slow. This place was nothing but a huge disappointment!! read more

Sunnyside is a fabulous restaurant! The eggs Benedict is my favorite. Eggs hollandaise sauce is hard to get just right, but James and Kirk hit it out of the park!!! With great survive and outstanding food they are the best at Boyne City full on breakfast! read more

Water Street Cafe recently reopened under new ownership and management. Have eaten breakfast there twice and been disappointed both times. Service, though friendly, was disorgaized, the breakfast buffet was, at best, barely warm and poorly done. read more

This was the perfect place to come for breakfast with my husband and my parents! We did have to wait a little bit for a table, but it was worth it. The waitress was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious! I would recommend this place for breakfast for sure! :) read more

After being closed for a while, this restaurant is back open. My husband and I went there for lunch on Memorial Day. The food was great and the staff was so friendly. The service was also very prompt. We definitely plan to go back. So glad it is back open. read more

Don't know, doesn't deserve a star but Yelp won't allow blank. Left after sitting at table for 15 minutes and hadn't even gotten water. It wasn't even busy. Three other tables got up and walked out when we did. Saw all at Cafe Sante down the block, whick not only acknowledged our presence but fed us a good meal. read more

Not impressed. Coffee was good, but that's about it. Paid $13 for toast, eggs and about a quarter of an avocado that was not ripe. Then they charged us to use our debit card. Would not eat here again. Over priced for mediocre food. read more

Cute place, but careful if you want to substitute something. I ordered Eggs Benedict and asked if I could have tomatoes rather than Canadian Bacon. She was like sure, but I may have to charge you. I figured it would be, maybe, a dollar. NOPE. Was charged $4.00 for four (4) small slices of a roma tomato. One would think that tomatoes cost less than the Bacon, but not here. It's my fault, as had I known that I would be charged that, I would have asked for the Canadian Bacon on the side and given it to my husband. Not often the I have a $50 breakfast tab for two, but here we did. (yes, we tipped 20%) Lesson learned. read more

A must stop if your in the area. Breakfast is my favorite, but lunch and dinner are just as amazing. Great selection, incredibly prepared food, and of course great service. Anytime we come to this area of northern MI, we make it a point to stop. I recommend the stuffed hash browns. If you come on the weekend, try the Rock! read more

This is the worst Maurice salad I have ever eaten. The lettuce was soggy, the meats and cheese were stingy and the crescent roll was stale , dry and hard. The sweet gherkins pickels that make this a signature salad were non existent. It was flavorless. It was a take out order, so sending it back was not practicle. I would not order this salad again and question the presentation of the other items on the menu based on the lack of presentation that this item had. read more

Had breakfast here yesterday. The service was polite and prompt. The bus worker gladly gave her recommendation when asked - the cinnamon apple chimichanga. It 's an apple pie calzone. Who cares? It was amazing! The other dishes my party had were equally popular. Loved the local touches like the board on the wall where their regulars could put the names of people they know who are in the military, sick, or grieving. Great places I will go to again next time I'm in Boyne City. read more

You order at the counter that is directly in front of you, and then they serve the drinks at the end of the counter. Do be mindful though of what you ordered as they didn't take names and called out orders instead. If it is busy (which it was when we visited) you also have to keep on top of the orders as often people mistakenly take an order. They are gracious about making another one for you, but it helps everyone to keep your ears open for your original order. My latte was full of flavor and not too bitter but did need a bit of sugar to make it sweet enough for me. They do have alternative mills but run out quickly so if you want something on a holiday or busy weekend I suggest you go early. Their teas are also quite good as my husband can contest, so if you want to try a tea they have several good options. All in all a great coffee spot and one that can accommodate larger groups and even has some fun Boyne City souvenirs to purchase. Recommend a stop in while visiting !

So I asked for a refund. Usually this is no big deal, especially if they know they're running behind. They just scan my app and put the money back. Well, these two rude employees both told me that they wouldn't do that and that I had to call the app. And so I asked "well how many more people are in front of me before my drink?" because I figured I would just wait. They told me I was last in line. Last! I had ordered my drink 30 minutes before. There is no way I was last in line. I had heard other people ask as well and many people were waiting...but only people who had ordered on the app, it appeared like they weren't even bothering with the mobile orders. They were unapologetic and rude and honestly these two incompetent employees (Saturday shift 11am) should not be left alone since they obviously can't handle the store. Unacceptable in every way.

I love that they do it twice a week in summer as this gave us ability to eat local throughout the week. Everyone is friendly and it is well organized. It is a fun morning experience as you can get local honey, taste some specialty teas, but a carved wood gift, try on handmade earrings, taste some local blueberries or peruse the scrumptious produce. We go every time we are in town and we love being able to learn about local businesses as well when they come to the market. We have tried mixed mustard, tomato butter and other new items for us all as a result if finding them at this farmers market!

Yes, this cafe is a "have to" place we eat while vacationing in Boyne. The quality of food is top quality and its presentation is great to.
