I've enjbreakfast here numerous times. The food and service has always been very good. The last time I went, I witnessed the owner of the restaurant YELLING at a waitress who was close to tears. The waitress calmly and tearfully asked "would you please just stop yelling at me?" and eventually walked outside to take a break and shake it off. She was our server that day and I sympathized and asked if her boss always treats her that way. She sort of shrugged and said "it's ok I'm ok", but she obviously wasn't. This place is legit. There was a little bit of a wait, but there is a bar to grab drinks, mimosas, bloody Mary's and what not. Cute little outdoor seating. We waited a while for our food and in the meantime, I drank three cups of coffee - not sure why, but it was so good. I had the Avolicious omelette, hubby had the crab cake eggs Benedict. Wow, we were super bummed to have such a lame experience here on our last day in Florida! We were staying right next door and couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to a place with such good reviews. The service and food left something to be desired. Maybe we got the wrong things. The place was cute and everybody was friendly with a unique menu, but it unfortunately didn't wow us. Our waiter was super spacey, and if he was overwhelmed he was not giving off that vibe because he moved like a sloth. I thought maybe it was just us, but each time he sat somebody, they all waited about 5 minutes just to get their order taken. Everybody was looking around to see where their waiter had gone. We observed the servers constantly pooling by the coffee machine/drink machine cleaning it, refilling stuff, etc. We sat and waited for our food after the cook finished it, staring at it under the heat lamp. He took other food to other tables that had come in well after us, and then finally brought ours. My boyfriend's Lox Benedict had barely toasted english muffins and the Salmon didn't taste fresh (canned possibly?). Coffee wasn't great, and took 15 mins just to get our waiter's attention to get our coffee refilled. Bummer experience, but glad for the people who actually enjoyed it. read more

Where to begin.. waited 40 minutes for a RAW burger. Even after i asked for it to be medium, saw it sitting on the warmer bleeding away and asked again for it to be cooked to medium.. and then get served a burger that was 100% raw in the middle. Older lady (manager? Owner?) got nasty with me when I objected to the food poisoning I was served. Crumpled up whatever papers were in front of her in a fit of rage then walked over to the chef presumably to remark on what a peasant I was for refusing a raw burger. The rest of our meal was equally as awful. I saw the good reviews and rolled the dice.. even after she took the burger off the tab we spent $20 on some wilted lettuce, 1 small chicken breast and some fries. I rarely write bad reviews like this. I get it restaurants screw up orders but don't think you are going to get nasty with me like it's MY fault I won't eat your food poisoning with a smile on my face and thank you for the privilege. read more

Yea the eggs Benedict on a potato bun was pretty dang good. I choose the potato bun instead of muffin because I try to eat less gluten. Normally, if available, I will go with sweet potato hash browns with an over easy egg. But so many reviews were made about the eggs Benedict that I decided to try it. It was really good and I would recommend it. The negative was the table water had a very nasty taste. It was not filtered. I was up charged $3 for my substitution from the muffin to the potato bun. read more

I was in town for work and the menu here looked really good. We had limited time so we called to place an order to pick up and we're told very rudely that they didn't have time to place an order over the phone. I've never worked in the industry but that sounded like the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. Now looking at other's lower reviews, it doesn't seem like I'm the only one who experienced the rude staff. What an amazing little gem! On the recommendation of one of my neighbor's friends we decided to try this restaurant out. There were three of us and we ordered very different entrees. The entire menu was very eclectic and it was hard to decide what to have as it all sounded so yummy. I had stuffed cabbage, one of my friends ordered the lamb rack and the other one had the ahi tuna salad. We all loved our meal and couldn't believe how lucky we were to have gone there. Best Unknown place to eat try it don't let the location stop you from getting great food breakfast lunch or dinner

I went to brunch with my parents at Sunnyside Cafe on Sunday and the entire experience made me go out of my way to create a yelp account specifically for this. After we showed up and put our name on the waiting list, we sat for about 30 minutes. Then after being sat we were promptly served our drinks as we began to wait another 20 minutes. After our 20 minute wait at the table, our server came over to "inform" us that the kitchen was backed up and she wouldn't be able to put in our order for another 20 minutes. She said this as I saw the three cooks in the back meandering around aimlessly. After we told the server we would be glad to pay for the drinks so we could leave, she tried to put the blame on us, by stating that we should've "let her know we were in a rush when we sat down..." and that "this isn't McDonald's". After working in the industry myself for the past ten years, the McDonald's comment really upset me, that's something that's said as a sarcastic joke to servers when they're asking for a meal to be rushed by the cooks, not audaciously by the server to the table she's waiting on. I didn't get to try the food but it must really make up for the lack of experience and skill that the servers have at Sunnyside Cafe. read more

Great food. Ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos, stuffed croissant and fried Cesar salad. All were delicious and quick to serve. The tacos for me were a little spicy but I loved them and ate every bite. Hubs had the special...braised pork Benedict with potato pancake which he thought was a little heavy on the hollandaise and the pork was not made the star of the fish (which you would think should be since it's a special). I had the eggs with housemade sausage, potato pancake, & rye toast. Scrambled eggs were nice & fluffy, sausage was different, but clearly homemade, potato pancake heavy and just average. We really have been looking forward to having dinner here. We have had breakfast and lunch many times here and loved every bite! I had the seared scallops and Puccini risotto. Disappointed. No flavor. My husband had the fish and chips. Very oily. And just anyones french fry's. Our sister had the Greek lamb burger which was Great! Tasted amazing! Sunnyside has always been great for breakfast and lunch (can you say Lobster Rollls?!!), but they have expanded their dinner menu to include all of our favorite Hungarian specialties! Wow! We called ahead because we were a party of eight, and were told not a problem. We arrived 30 minutes later, the place was packed, but guess what! They had our table ready and waiting. They didn't take my name when I called, so I was hoping that they would have the table ready. They make fresh squeezed orange juice as you order it. So good. All eight of us could not stop raving about how tasty our breakfast was. I had the avilious omelet which had avocado, diced tomato and cilantro. The brave one omelet I was told was great, as well as the Greek omelet. The chocolate chip pancakes came fluffy and thick. I heard those were amazing too! Our server may have been the owner, and if not .... She is a great team member with a pleasing personality and warm smile. She was accommodating as well. We didn't see much in the area to eat at that we felt would be a sure bet, so I told everyone to hang on so I could check Yelp. Once I saw all the great reviews, the decision was made. Love this place. The service was great. I got the vegan chickpea pancakes for breakfast, two days in a row. They were just phenomenal; nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
