Make no mistake, this place really has zero frills, but it's clean and the service was competent and friendly. As others have said, the burgers are huge and clearly hand-made from good quality, fresh ground beef with plenty of tasty fat content. If you like bacon on your burger, they're very generous with it. I saw double-deckers being served at other tables and they looked good, too. Probably the worst thing for me about this place is the horrible pastel green color of the walls. No kidding. It's bad. For that reason I'll probably order carryout next time. But if you're in the area, or don't mind a little jaunt out into the country, recommend you give Sunnyside a try. read more

Loves this Place. We went on Father's Day and it was stacked. The staff was friendly even with the onslaught of hungry fathers, so that was a big plus. We were a party of 9 and most of us got some sort of breakfast platters. Typical cheap diner prices, lots of food for the money. Delicious an exactly as expected. I think it would be even better on a less crowded day. Though we didn't get lunch, some people were having sandwiches around us and they were gigantic! This was a lucky find! The burgers are amazing, however, beware, the large size burgers are close to one pound each. My husband and I both over-ordered but the burgers were delicious. The bonus was in the "doggie bag" of extra uneaten burger that we took home. We made an amazing hamburger soup for lunch today, tomorrow and the freezer! The service was great and so friendly. Great food little out of the way place. I ordered the western omelette it was huge and delicious. Tasted like it was cooked in bacon fat not sure but, was delicious fresh ingredients and potato home fries were great. Mom and pop place. Lots of locals and now I know why. You may not even notice it unless you googled it or Yelp but it's worth a try. The burgers are extremely large and very good. The place is cute and family styled, I was very excited to try it since it has such a good review on yelp. I have ordered selmivin. It is literally a pile of grease on the plate. Today I decided to indulge myself in some breakfast. I now know how small African children feel at the back of the line to the redcross tent. The place was packed so we were treated to a dirty table, 20 minutes later once we flagged the server down they managed to clean it. We could already see where this was going so we went ahead and ordered our food on the spot. 15 minutes later when the food arrived, myself and my roommate received approx. 50% of what we ordered (2 cold eggs no meat no toast cold home fries and coffee). We inquired as to the elusiveness of our meat and toast, to our surprise they apparently had just forgotten this aspect of the popular and regularly ordered breakfast. The server managed to assemble 1 piece of meat and 1 piece of toast. Many methods of deciding who would get to eat this morning were discussed, rock paper scissors, an old favorite, or maybe flipping a coin. In the end I decided to just let him eat and wait. Surprisingly enough my food never actually came, despite asking about it many times. As we got up to leave our server ran us up the checks which at least mine was...oh wait it was for the full amount, just kidding. To be sporting and because I have respect for people who have this much sand I left 2 dollars for my coffee. tl;dr If you want to lose weight this is a great establishment to help you do it, as you will never actually receive your food. I'm lucky enough to have a few extra pounds in reserve at all times so that I can survive these kinds of drought like conditions. If you're skinny or maybe diabetic I would suggest bringing some saltines with you. read more

Do not have a delivery order sent to your home or business. Work at Sur Seal on Wesselman rd. Maybe 8 to 10 minute drive from sunnyside grill. We ordered 3 times after 6:30 each time, spending over 45.00 each time. Food is cold, takes 1 1/2 hours to deliver, never saying im sorry or explaining why they where so late. Each time giving a tip to the driver. We have 200 plus people that work here and will never have a delivery sent to us again. Best way to enjoy this food, go to sunnyside and eat in. read more

Great diner! A large, I mean a LARGE amount of food for the price. Great selection of burgers, sandwiches stacked high and good looking breakfast food. We had fun looking at all the meals being served around us. The Smellvine was delicious! (Home fry bed with egg and meat stacked over it with a hefty amount of cheese to top it off!) It's sad when great food becomes mediocre. The Smelvin used to be one of my favorite breakfasts. All the breakfast meats grilled up with sliced potatoes, eggs, cheese and jalapeño. Every bite had a bit of everything, hot and delicious. The last few times I ordered it, not so much. No ham or bacon, mostly goetta and a little bit of sausage. The upcharge for jalapeño gets you a sprinkling, not enough to change the taste. And asking for crisp potatoes and well done meat means nothing. When the place is super busy, I can understand the need to cook and plate quickly, so not enough time to crisp everything. I try to arrive in between the rushes, so it's less of a problem to leave my breakfast on the cooktop a bit longer. Lots of empty tables when I arrived, but it was barely hot enough to melt the cheese. And all that goetta! Ugh! I took most of it home so I can crisp it. I may not have taken the time to write this review, but when I paid my bill, the cashier asked "How was everything?". I replied "Disappointing". Was very disappointed in this place. First visit there and we sat there for close to 10 minutes before they acknowledged we were there after I waved to the waitress. Super small coffee cup that was hard to get there attention to refill it. Tables are way too close and the guy behind me was wedged against my chair, very uncomfortable. Took 25 minutes to get a very basic breakfast and the place was not full. 5 minutes of that time our food sat in the window ready to be served. The waitress walked past it many times before she served it to us. The whole time I was hoping it was not our food but it was. Yes the food was cold and really pretty nasty, gross cold goetta, mushy hash browns mostly cold I was served. They also served burnt bacon. When we complained the waitress lies to us and states she brought it right out us and it should not be cold, actually argued that with us. We watched it sit there for a long time. Crazy not to serve it and let it get cold. Definitely did not feel welcome there. The only plus I can give is the waitress said there would be no check and we walked out hungry without paying and will never go back.
