I was debating between three and four stars, but I really don't have anything negative to say about this place so four stars won out! We came here for a breakfast before work one morning, eleven of us total. We were seated immediately and service was prompt. Our server was incredibly nice and she kept the coffee coming! I ordered scrambled eggs, potatoes, and toast - my standard go-to breakfast. I was not disappointed. The scrambled eggs were great and not just some folded omelette type egg like a lot of diners do. I was pleasantly surprised by that. I generally like my potatoes a bit crunchier, but they were still well cooked and delicious. Perfect for dipping in ketchup. No complaints on the toast, either. I normally work nights back home, and if I was local to the area would consider making this place one of my regulars if only they served booze. Cheese and chili on home fries is a meal in itself! I can't say no to greasy spoon diners where senior citizens account for 80% of the clientele. That tells me the food is consistent, cheap, and the lighting is dentist chair bright. I don't think of myself as a picky eater, but this place didn't even do coffee right. Ambience- 2.0 Nothing thematic about the place but is was bright, open and functional . Cleanliness- 3.0 Tables were bussed quickly. Restroom was clean although it wasn't enough for the large crowds they get. One male and one female room for over 150 people is not enough. Service- 3.5. Servers were efficient, friendly and professional. They are worth my 15-20 % tip. That's not easy to come by for me. They were patient, informed, worked cooperatively and professional. Food- 2.5 I had veggie egg white omelette with cheese with whole wheat toast and home style potatoes. Omelette was well prepared but toast was soggy and potatoes were ok; they needed more crunch. My son had a waffle, and sausage patties. He was happy. ( He hasn't developed his palette yet). My husband had egg whites with cheese, a side of cheese grits, and fluffy pancakes. Everything was ok for him but the pancakes were "amazing." I wouldn't mind going back to try their sweet potato pancakes next time. Value: On average $7-9 based upon what you ordered. Local diner in the Augusta area but located at an empty plaza. The place is huge with plenty of space and seating. I went with my bf for a morning brunch meal and heard they had sweet potato pancakes. I ordered them after reading so many reviews from other Yelpers. They were divine and I think this should be their signature dish for the restaurant. The pancakes were light and had a slight sweetness to it but not too sweet, it was perfect. I didn't feel heavy after eating and actually wanted more. Their menu offered many other options - your typical offerings, eggs, toast, sausage, french toast, pancakes, etc. Service was great and our waitress was attentive even though they were a bit busy. After having been away from Augusta for almost 4 years, I have returned recently for business. After a grueling day yesterday, my body woke me up early, ravenous for an epic breakfast. Since my hotel's "continental breakfast" was more like "let's give these guys some 'food' we found at the Dollar Store", I decided to search for some local quality eats. Thankfully, Yelp led me to this Sunrise Grill. Folks, they have earned their high rating. From the friendly waitress Michelle (who is now my new best friend for keeping my coffee cup filled this entire time) to the melt-in-my-mouth French toast, I found myself thrilled with my experience. Crunchy bacon and over-medium eggs, both cooked to just about perfection, rounded out my excellent meal. And, all of this for less than $10!! Tack on the fact that the dining room is open and clean. I'm not sure what the fuss is all about, I ate here with my family today for breakfast. Seems like a very busy place and and that is usually a good sign of amazing food to come. So we signed in at the front desk the the ladies seemed to be a bit confused, it was pretty busy. Sat down on the church style bench seats. They have complimentary coffee. It was pretty strong but it was hot and fresh. After about 30 min we were seated at a clean table and greeted within 30 seconds by our waitress. She was very polite and responsive to our needs. Now let's talk about the food. I had the Carribean pancakes, with sausage links and scrambled egg whites. The egg whites were as expected and the sausage link was good not to spicy. The pancake however was undercooked and still doughy in the middle. My daughter had the banana French toast 3 slices and her's was undercooked. My son had a plain waffle was so hard that it was like crust on bread. My wife had the banana French toast 2 slices and hers was cooked ok. She had 2 slices of bacon and taste was as expected. Grits were better than Waffle House but that's not saying much. So they do not provide hot syrup they have a squeeze bottle on the table which was cold and hard to get out. And no butter was provided. Overall I give this place a two and half stars because the waitress made my experience enjoyable. I may try this place again on not such a busy day. Oh one last thought the girl who cashed me out had no manners. There was; no thank you, or yes sir, or even come back and see us. She needs to be moved to the dishwashing section there she can wear her real tree camouflage jacket and be out of the customers sight. read more

If I could, I would rate this as 3.75 stars, however I cannot and four stars seems too generous. This brunch place is in the traditional brunch vein, complete with simple tables and chairs and a plethora of rooster memorabilia. The home fries come with the prerequisite grease pool however that is perfectly at home with a country-style brunch place's simple eggs and bacon ways. The problem here was the service in that I have become accustomed to getting refills without prompt and had to instead catch eyes to get a refill and to order a water for my sister. Additionally, we (my sister and I) had to wait so long to get the check, we contemplated the morality of a dine and ditch for sheer time-saving purposes. I will caveat that I am from California and despite having lived here for years now, I'm still not in pace with the slower, more relaxed stylings of the South. Perhaps even, an argument could be made that when one is getting brunch on what in the South is considered a "day of rest" then one shouldn't be so demanding of speed and attentiveness. One last note: the "Caribbean pancakes" are instead "Caribbean adjacent pancakes" in that the feature that defines their island attitude is that they are "surrounded by banana slices". I will say I am always a little hesitant when I go to a restaurant that has carpet, especially since we have a toddler, and I really think it detracts from the decor. One of very few daily breakfast spots here in Augusta. Most places offer Sunday brunch only. This place is 7 days a week! It's a little hometown family owned business with two locations- A good switch up from Waffle House (more options here by far) and Cracker Barrel. I only give it 4/5 instead of 5/5 bec the cornbeef hash is just mediocre & if you serve cornbeef Hash it must be AMAZING. It's like an unwritten rule of the south in my opinion!! The Service is great. All the ladies are sweet. Wait was short. There was heavy traffic & clearly some regulars so you know it's pretty popular amongst us augustians. This was my second time there in awhile. I will definitely return but just will remember to choose a diff breakfast platter than the hash plate. This restaurant is in a large shopping center in what was once a small store so that it is a very large and open space. There is a large and lively counter for eating just to the left of the door and several tables on the floor. The decor is very simple but the vibe is small town "Hey Ya'll! We have a seat on the floor and are soon greeted by the effervescent Hadley. At least she was wearing a half apron that said Hadley and she had a generous mane of "not too red" hair. She was very attentive and provided great service today. My husband decided that he would order a large omelet filled with meat, (of course), and a side of potatoes with grilled onions and pepper added and wheat toast. I was delighted to see that there was a vegetable omelet on the menu so I ordered that along with breakfast potatoes and toast, My omelet was perfect because it had chunks of fresh broccoli (instead of finely chopped bits), tomatoes and onions with cheddar cheese. It was very good and so were those perfectly seasoned potatoes. We both enjoyed our breakfast and would definitely recommend this restaurant for breakfast. First time visiting, place definitely has the diner feel. All the waitresses and hosts are very polite. Food and coffee comes quick. I had the steak and eggs with raisin toast and home fries and it was really good, would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a non-pork breakfast option (think this is the only breakfast non-pork protein). They don't really season the home fries or eggs. I'm assuming it's bc they have a lot of older people that may not be a big fan of a lot of spice but touched them up with salt and pepper and was all good.
