Last week I did a little gambling. Nothing new for Las Vegas, I suppose. But this was not in a casino. Instead, I bought a (used from eBay) Canon Imagerunner Advance C5250 Copier for my small business. The seller was in California and delivered it on the back of an F350 pickup. We rolled it off using an 8 ft ramp I built. The seller took off, and I wrestled the thing (400 lbs worth) into my house. When I plugged it in, I got an error message. Aw crap! Conversations with Canon and others stoked, rather than assuaged, my fears. One unscrupulous seller of refurbished copiers assured me that my machine was toast, not worth fixing, that repairs would be in the thousands of dollars. A little browsing of Yelp! brought me to Sunrise Office Systems. I left a message, expecting a call back on Monday. Instead, I received a call Sunday night from Renee, who assured me that Kyle would be able to stop by on Monday to look at the machine. My copier is now in good working order. The cost? Two hours of labor (mostly cleaning and adjustments), plus a small adapter to get my copier networked on my wi-fi. If you have a copier that needs fixed...CALL THE BEST, SKIP THE REST. We used Kyle and Renee for years at a previous employer. Fast forward to a new employer and a copier on its final leg, we called Sunrise Office systems. Their communication throughout getting a new copier, taking our old machine, getting it all set up and even working with our IT department to get everything running perfectly. My office was in need of an experienced technician to save my Kyocera copier/scanner/fax machine. I have hired two separate companies and contacted numerous other businesses to try to fix this machine. The machine is mechanically fine, but it wouldn't scan to my computers. I knew it was a networking issue. I finally found Sunrise Office Systems, and I had nothing to lose. I called them on a Monday, and they scheduled me for the next day. Kyle then called me late Monday to see if he could try to swing by on Monday instead. Even though my schedule didn't allow that, I thought it was great that they are responsive and have a sense of urgency. On Tuesday, Kyle was able to fix the networking problem within half an hour. Again, this was a problem that two separate companies couldn't fix. I was so relieved and happy that I could use my wonderful Kyocera again and not the crappy HP I had to buy as a temporary substitute. I had to run when Kyle was halfway done, and he was very understanding and agreed to come back out another day that's convenient for me.
