Seriously upgraded the Dad car today after falling in love with the new Land Cruiser. It all started with a Facebook post to a nationwide Toyota group and landing 15 minutes from home at Sunrise Toyota North making a decision between two cool specs while my trade was being appraised. After numerous attempts to reach the service manager of Sunrise Toyota North whom apparently is managing both Sunrise Toyota of Oakdale and Sunrise Toyota North of Middle Island , the Sales manager reached out to her (apparently on her day off) and requested a call back to me with a sense of urgency. After speaking with Linda whom I was told is the service manager that has worked for Sunrise Toyota for many years I felt more uneasy about the situation at hand. My complaint was that a personal item was removed from my vehicle while at Sunrise Toyota North. I was told numerous times that none of the service technicians would jeopardize their careers that they underwent extensive training for to steal an item of which had little value to them. Not only was it mentioned numerous times about the integrity of each employee but I was made to feel as if the mention of a lost or stolen item that went missing during the time my vehicle was left there, was a made up story. The conversation took a tone of defending the integrity of the skilled employees. Never did I expect the manager to approach the situation as if I were requesting anything other than accountability for a lost or stolen item that was removed from my vehicle while left at this place of business. It is very important for a customer whom is receiving some type of service to feel as if they can trust that their complaint is heard and addressed in a manner that makes them feel comfortable to return to that place of business, I was not left feeling that way after my conversation with this manager. I will not return to this establishment for that reason. read more

Great experience buying a new minivan. I heard Sienna's were hard to buy new and take a long time. We started shopping on Monday, Labor Day and drove it home on Friday, 9/12/25. I could've had it earlier but had to delay until Friday since that suited my schedule. My prior car buying experience was it takes too many painful hours with sales and finance. I went to Toyota with intentions to just test drive 1 of the 3 vehicles on my list. They have charged us for repairs that were not made. My mom noted that her oil was low immediately after an $80 oil change. Sunrise said, Oh you'll need this special procedure and it costs $3,000, let's do it today. Mom said she'd wait. She showed it to her son who used to be a mechanic and he said it was crazy since we never saw any oil under the car. We added the oil ourselves and still we never saw a spot under her car in the garage. That was when we got suspicious and surmised that they drained the oil but never filled it. It doesn't make sense not to exhaust other remedies like refilling the oil and seeing how it goes before sticking someone with a $3,000 repair? As a result, she stopped going there a year ago. The oil has been fine and still not a drop of oil under the car. At her recent inspection she was told by Goodyear that she needs two new rear tires and they showed her that the two rear tires are indeed balding. We checked her receipts and only a year and a half ago Sunrise charged for four new tires. Three years before that, Sunrise charged her for another four new tires. That's a lot of tires for someone who only drives 10-15k miles a year. Goodyear also said she needs all new brakes. We checked her receipts and she got all new brakes from Sunrise just two years ago. If you do go here for service, get a second opinion that you need the repairs and make sure that they are actually completed. read more

Recently brought my Toyota truck into North Sunrise Toyota for service and an inspection. My experience was great because they have a drop off box which makes dropping off your vehicle on off hours very easy. The Team member Chris who assisted me was very nice. He called me the next morning to tell me they received my vehicle. Throughout the whole process Chris gave me all the information I needed to make the right decisions. Chris was very informative, polite, helpful and kind. I am not sure if they do this for all their customers but Chris applied a coupon to my service and I saved over Hundred dollars. The service manager even follows up to make sure the team provided excellent service and if there was anything they could do better. I appreciated there help and service. I will definitely bring my vehicle back for future servicing. In conclusion they got 4 Stars. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is. When they were servicing my vehicle they noticed a few things wrong with the brakes. I asked if they could send pictures and/or a video. They said they couldn't. Previously we brought my wife's car to Jeep in Smithtown and their service technicians do a video. They introduce themselves and walk around the vehicle showing you any defects and offering a solution. I feel this helps to improve the customer experience and makes you feel like your there in person. It allows you to see first hand any problems with your vehicle. read more

Steer clear! Trusting and ensuring at first, and then nasty if you don't buy or lease with them! God forbid you put anything down and need a refund, your card can decline and they can "cut you a check" for the next day. But when a manager is asked to come down they manually put in the card number and all of a sudden it works! I was really considering getting a bigger car in 3 years from them because they were so great at first, but it was just a first impression. Their second impression was not great at all. They blamed MY schedule for not coming in on a Monday so I can have a check clear by the end of the week..but never was I told I'd be getting a check in the first place! I just had to put my foot down for them to find a solution instead of them just using that solution at first, I'm sure this is not the first time it happened and they had to enter the card manually. I'd rather sacrifice the extra money at Smithtown Toyota if I'm looking for a 4Runner or a Highlander. Update! Received a text with the same exact comment below by the salesperson themselves last night. They couldn't even change a word in it, just copy and paste. This is pretty entertaining actually because I have enough respect to not mention a name and cross out their phone number they provided me with but they "bent over backwards" by punching some numbers in that they couldn't do in the first place. And plus, them "happening to be in at the same time" BS wasn't a coincidence. I called the day before to confirm I can come in when he is there like he asked. This is epic. read more

Shady. Dishonest. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I felt like "management" was trying to stick their hand further in my pocket every step of the way. They did not honor the deal we had in place and tried to change the terms every chance they could, including during my drive to take delivery and at the salesman's desk! INITIAL VISIT TO THE DEALERSHIP I went in about three months ago looking for a 4Runner and met with Damont (DP). He didn't have the vehicle I saw on their website (Blue Venture) but he was able to show me some close matches. He told me due to a vehicle shortage the dealership was marking these up thousands of dollars. I thanked him for his time and said I wouldn't be interested in anything over MSRP. I told DP if the Blue Venture arrived and was available at MSRP I'm interested. Otherwise, I would wait for the inventory to normalize. WEEKS AFTERWARD We texted back and forth a few times about some 4Runners that were available, but all had big markups and not exactly what I was looking for. He later texted me photos and said, "finally got one". I responded I would take it at MSRP, not a penny more. We went back and forth via text a few times over the next few days. He asked if I would take it today at MSRP. I said yes. He wrote back that he tried, but the bosses wouldn't let it go without the big markup. No deal. It sat on the lot for a while, and I reached out to see if it was available. He said come down today and it's yours. I told him I was still in for MSRP. He then sent me a price workup - $3,000 markup! I said no way - MSRP or I'm out. He said mgmt wouldn't budge. I told him it was a shame and that if they get to the sticker price I'm in. DP offered it for a $1,500 markup. I said no thanks. Any markup whatsoever and I'll wait / go elsewhere. THE DEAL DP texted, "Management said take it today MSRP". I said it's a deal, if they don't try to mark it up again. DP repeated "it's MSRP". He wrote the sale up and sent a link for financing, deposit, etc. I sent a copy of my license and insurance card. He sent me the bill of sale - filled out for MSRP as agreed with no conditions. I later spoke with the finance dept., left a deposit on CC, and asked what interest rate came back. He gave a rate of close to 4%. I said that sounds very high and I would check to see what my bank would offer. He told me no problem. They did business with my bank and would be able to work with them for the best rate. My bank offered me an interest rate of less than 2%. DELIVERY DAY I had an appointment to pick up the truck Sat 10am. Just before 9:30 I got a text from DP that read, "No deal on the 4Runner sorry". I was baffled by his text and called to ask what that was all about. He said that it was their financing or the deal was off. I reminded him that was never part of our agreement. He agreed and said mgmt. "won't let it go" if I don't finance through them. I told him I was on my way and would talk with the manager and finance dept. so they could work out the interest rate to something less than DOUBLE what my bank offered. AT THE DEALER I sat down at DP's desk and went over how "management" continuously tried to change the deal. From MSRP to $3k more, deal is off then it's on, trying to force me into an interest rate twice what I qualify for, etc. He then called the finance mgr. over to discuss the loan. He explained that the dealership used to do business with my bank (not a small bank at all), but no longer does so for some reason. He said I couldn't get the lower rate from them or use my bank's loan. I would have to use their higher rate financing or no deal. I asked why their rate is more than twice what I could get when my credit is exceptional. He said that's just what came back from the creditors. He said they got 5 rates from 5 lenders and there was only one that was slightly less that 4%. The others were well over 4%. I asked to see the list of lenders and the rates. He said "no - I can't show that to you". Interestingly enough, the difference from the cash price after taxes, etc. and the dealer financed price was just over $3,000 (the amount of what they wanted to mark it up over sticker). The sales mgr. (Kevin G.) came over and started to explain the vehicle shortage and the big markups they were getting on vehicles. He eventually said they need to get that extra money out of the buyer either by charging thousands over sticker or through a higher interest rate. I reminded him the agreement we made was never contingent on whether I took their loan, used my bank, or even if I paid cash. The only thing we agreed on before paperwork started was the price being MSRP (no markup). DP agreed with me, but said "it's their call, sorry". Another manager came over and joined in and gave me three choices: 1. Take it with a $3,000 markup using my bank's loan. 2. Take it at MSRP with their inflated interest rate. 3. Walk away without the new truck. I clearly chose #3 and left the building feeling like I needed another shower. read more
