This place is pretty good. Food is good enough, but not a lot of healthy options. If you just want a burger and a beer in a friendly environment, it's a good place to go. Unfortunately the sauce for the wings has changed :(. This use to be one of the only places I could find east coast style buffalo wings. Our waiter said they tasted different to him too and that they must have just changed it- not a fan. Also shocked & disappointed, after letting 2 people know that it was so bad I couldn't eat it, when they asked if everything was ok (after seeing I had eaten all of 2 bites of dinner) that they didn't even offer to make me something else or make it right. - we even had to proactively ask to have it taken off the bill. Been here a number of times and have always been very satisfied. The service is great and the food is tasty. Burgers are always a solid option. I also really liked the chips con queso (added chicken) and the Italian chicken sandwich. Overall it's a great place to get a bite in Issaquah. read more

I Got the philly cheesesteak and it was bomb.com. I don't remember the name of it but i got a porter that was DELICIOUS. One of the best beers ive ever had. My g/f got the cheesesteak too and said it was "too cheesy"...I didnt know there was such a thing. My salad was just ok. but ill let that go considering it was just a side salad. All the people on here bitching about the price of the beer need to lay off. It's not a dive bar..It's an alehouse. Anyways i liked it. A lil more pricey than malarkeys or joker food but WAY worth it..better beer, food, and atmosphere. Ill be back again read more

Great place, I always get a good pour and the food is decent. They have a good beer selection and a friendly staff. I even get to sit with my pup outside on a sunny day. We have gone here many a time after a hike or just to grab a drink. read more

This is by far my favorite lunch place around the Seattle area. Anything on the menu is excellent, but my favorite is always the NY steak sandwich. It's the simplest sandwich with a soft and tender steak, on a warm bread. It is a bit expensive for lunch, but the food is worth it. Would recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. read more

We went for the first time last night (a Saturday), because the wait at Jak's was over an hour and a half. This place was packed, which was a good sign... but tables sat empty waiting to be turned and the front of the house wasn't interested in doing that quickly. In fact we waited 15 minutes to be seated at a booth that was empty when we originally got there. The service did not improve with our server. We placed a drink order that took over 10 minutes to get back from the bar. Our chips and salsa actually beat the drinks to the table. Our server did not apologize for the delay, and somewhat less importantly she incorrectly swapped our drinks. Anytime we needed her, for instance to get the check, she'd disappear... like the time she disappeared for 5 minutes to run my credit card. As for the food, I think we both expected more out of a restaurant run by Jak's. I got the Sunset Burger. The bun was thick and tasty, but the patty was way too thin - they should have made the burger thicker (maintaining the same 1/3rd lb weight) and the bun smaller. I tasted too much bun and not enough meat. My fiancée got the fish tacos and she was pleased - I kinda wished I had gotten that. The chips and salsa were pretty standard. I don't think we will return. Issaquah Brewhouse is better for this type of atmosphere. read more

What a nice addition to the Issaquah culinary landscape. Nice people serving a great menu. The meat on the burgers are scrumptious a little hot is some areas of the menu but much to my liking. Great new place that will get better with time. After four visits all the way from West Seattle, next time in town I will enjoy a good meal and nice cold beer. read more

Great place to refuel after hiking Tiger Mountain. The gyro was great, the burger hit the spot and so did the saladilla. There are several options for vegetarians, though if you want a veggie burger it costs a dollar more than beef (which seemed odd to me). read more

After moving to Sammamish from Seattle late last year, this is the best pub we've found in months of trying different local spots, most of which are overrated. Very crowded and busy place. Good quality food in $10-20 range. I enjoyed my fish and chips. I was glad I ordered a half salad since the coleslaw was pretty bland. The place was clean and our waitress was attentive. Nice that there is lots of off street parking. If you are over 21 you can be seated pretty quick. If you bring kids at dinner better figure on some kind of wait. I guess the place is related to Jak's and also some kind of cantina too which I intend to seek out next. read more

I go here all the time for a beer and a burger but this morning I was craving brunch so I figured I would try it out. The brunch menu is short, sweet, and delicious. And most importantly super affordable! My boyfriend had the biscuits and gravy and said that we would be back for just that dish every week because it's the best he'd ever had! I had the breakfast casserole. Pretty good but so filling I couldn't eat the whole thing. It lacked a bit of flavor but I enjoyed the sausage in it. I probably won't have it again though. I'm giving brunch 4 stars because our server convinced me to get a "man-mosa" instead of a regular mimosa (the difference is the big ones in a wine glass), but it was pretty nasty. They must use the cheapest champagne on the planet because it was a rough drink. Next time I'll test out the bloody Mary's. Service was good as usual. I'll be back!! read more

Woo Hoo when my fish and chips came they were Halibut fish ! And the cole slaw with them wowza homemade too and the tarter sauce like I make myself ! Bad food. Bad atmosphere. Nice staff. A huge disappointment. (these were my thoughts after my first visit) After receiveing a note from Sunset Ale House staff/mgmt on how being more specific could help them I decided to add some specifics. Atmosphere...Tables/chairs/decorations on the walls looked like somebody's basement from the 1970's. Staff- very cordial and nice...made sure my daughter and I had a table that worked for us. Food- When the food arrived I thought they had repurposed it from the kitchen at the Brewhouse down the street. Hamburger was a weak little industrial pressed patty. French fries were average. My daughter had the kids hotdog. The hotdog was enormous and super greasy. Maybe I am a little hard on this place because I was expecting so much and got a reconstituted version of the crappy Issaquah Brewhouse food. read more

Great place...other than the fact that it is apparently a UW bar...Showed up on a promotion night for a local brewery. Tried the Tartan Black IPA and it was amazing. Ended up winning a Pint Glass in a raffle which was an added bonus. Food was great, too many options that I wanted to try. Ended up having a Santa Fe burger, very good. My husband and I eat here maybe once every two months or so. We love it! The food is always delicious and the service is always excellent. Oh, and their beer/ cocktail list is not too shabby. Service excellent. Menu typical with a few extras. Good portions. Good draft beer selection. CAESAR Salad with IN-HOUSE DRESSING was superb....maybe the best most authentic I have had in 40+ years. My fiancee and i went here because we didn't make it in time for brunch at Jak's. MY food was excellent. I haven't had a philly cheesesteak sandwich this good since visiting philadelphia. However, SHE got the gyro, and it was terrible. Should have known not to order a gyro from a place where it's not their primary fare, or specialty. The prices are a little high, but not exorbitant. If i find myself in Issaquah and hungry, i may stop by here again, but i certainly wouldn't order a gyro (the meat looked like that pre sliced/packed you can buy at the grocery store). read more

Food was generally good and I loved the Bailbreaker IPA on tap. Only issue was that someone in the kitchen was going a bit overboard with the pepper. I had the hottest Ceaser's Salad I've ever had; good, but spicy. The problem was the gumbo. My wife has ordered gumbo frequently and loves it. This one was too spicy to eat. read more

There is one reason this is a five star review: I have never had an item here that did not taste great. Every appetizer or dish I've tried has been fantastic, especially the sandwiches. And that includes the king of all sandwiches here or anywhere else I've had one for that matter: The Sunset Grinder. Get it NY Style. Eat it like a man and realize that you are in the presence of sandwich greatness. Service has also always been pretty great - really nothing to complain about. That said, I've also only ever been here one time when I did not have to wait for a seat - this place is typically pretty packed most nights of the week and all throughout the weekends (Though to be fair most of my visits have been right in the thick of March Madness, among other things people want to come watch on their various TVs), but I won't hold that against them. read more

I love this place. Great food and great service. Any issue I have ever had has been resolved immediately. Their prices are great for the quality of food you get. I prefer the lunch and dinner over the breakfast. The breakfast is not the best, but I do not go there for breakfast. I'll stick to Dennys or IHOP for breakfast. Great drinks and good food - nice variety on the menu. Despite it being an Alehouse it is fairly family friendly! Highly Recommend.
