One of the workers came out and asked if I needed help. They brought paper towels for me. After seeing I had another child in the car, they brought them some pool toys to occupy themself. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - My property has used them for over 50 years, the owner uses them personally as well. Today the owner decided we will never use them again. Jordan's response to the owner saying we will never use them again... "Good we need more time for our other customers" HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The Soup Nazi has better customer service skills. This pool service repair station "business" was recommended by our pool cleaning robot manufacturer as a drop off location for warranty service. Nothing was mentioned by the manufacturer as required to bring with the equipment for service... just drop it off. Being thorough, I called Sunset Aquatech as well and made sure to ask if anything else was required. Of course there was more required... but reasonable. The receipt of purchase from a year ago (my favorite) and a "work order" from the manufacturer. Hmmmm. The first red flag... not even the manufacturer knew of Sunsets documentation requirements for warranty work! We load up the robot and bring it in and are greeted normally by the counter. I explain why we are there and some man in his 60s who answers the phones comes out and looks at the receipt I brought. He just snarls, "You bought this online?! We won't work on this" and drops the receipt on the counter. Immediately the tone of the woman at the counter changes. I'm not happy at all brocade I've done what I needed to as a customer. I called the manufacturer and complied with everything asked. I simply want to get my equipment repaired or replaced by THEIR repair station and the manufacturer is MORE than willing to accept the device. In fact, this repair is a pure swap out. No actual repair service would be required. She goes in the back and calls "the manufacturer" and comes back out to repeat her opinion, and that of her grumpy coworker... they won't work on equipment bought on the internet. Basically, "take your stuff and leave. How dare you not buy your robot from us and expect service of any type". As a manufacturer authorized repair station, their focus should be on the repair, not the purchase and ALWAYS on the customer. We left... and won't be back ever. There are plenty of pool supply and cleaning vendors in the area who value our business. Prestige Pool and Spa and Two Men and a Spa Dolly have served us very well over the years. I would recommend them to anyone looking for repair and/or cleaning. I called the manufacturer back and confirmed everything that had happened. The manufacturer called them and got the same cop out excuses... basically, Sunset Aquatech told the manufacturer to stuff it. I would be very surprised if they hold their status as an authorized repair station for this Pentair line of products. They don't represent themselves much less Pentair well at all and a multi million dollar company like Pentair will want to distance themselves from such anti consumer opinion. Pentair will be shipping the replacement component to me directly (wonderful service recovery by them) instead of doing business with this grump equipped customer service desk at Sunset Aquatech... obviously, it sounds as if they realize they made a mistake choosing them to represent them as a service location. First and last experience for me dealing with Sunset Aquatech. I'll fill my pool in with dirt before I rely on them again. read more

Awful customer service. Really horrible the way they treat some of their customers. How have they stayed in business? They are fine just for supplies but dealing with the service department is a nightmare and has gotten worse since Jordan became the service manager. I live in Sunset Hills. My 85 yo mother lives next door and has a pool which I take care of. We have used Sunset Aquatech for 20 years. They were sometimes rude at the counter but we tolerated their shortcomings because other times they were good and certainly convenient. Fall of 2021 they sent two technicians to close the pool while I was out of town. I returned three days later and found they neglected to turn the motor off. The motor ran while dry for three days! I called and the service manager intimated she would replace the motor when the pool was opened in the Spring because everyone knows you do not run a motor without cooling water running through it. Spring 2022, I called to schedule reopening and the service manager had stepped down and was replaced by Jordan. Jordan knew nothing about the problem I had. After explaining my concerns about possible diminished life of the motor, Jordan refused to even replace the motor's seals. A cheap and reasonable accommodation. I remained professional and accepted Jordan's rough handling. The same two guys came and opened the pool. Foolishly I did not stand over them and watch. Nine days later and four trips to the store for gallons of chlorine, pounds of alkaline increase, then alkaline decrease, acidic chemicals, etc, the pool was still green. The store did not know why and would not send a technician the one mile to my house to look at it without a service charge. Eventually I opened the filter and found the filter cartridges had not been installed correctly by the technicians so the water was passing through the system without any filtration. I connected them properly and the water was clear in 10 hours. I called Jordan and politely explained my unhappiness with paying $250+ for opening and mostly useless chemicals. Jordan was hard-headed and difficult to talk to. He accused me of detaching the pool cartridges myself and trying to get a refund on the opening charge. Remaining calm I offered to send photos of what I had found. I asked to speak with the owner which was refused. Jordan conveyed the owner told Jordon it was his decision whether to compensate the customer. Eventually Jordan refunded 50% of the open charge. Okay. I did not like how I was treated but sometimes you have to suck it up and move on. In July 2022 my mother called to schedule closing. She was told they did not take closing reservations until August 1. She called back on August 1 and got the run around for several days until being told to stop calling because the owner did not want to work with her because of the prior problems (which their poor service technicians created). I will never buy even one chlorine tablet from them again. Poor, poor service. read more

I went there for the first time and I bought a pool chlorinator and two plugs for my filter system. One plug was not usable so the next day on June 26, 2022 I went to take it back and get credit on my credit card. Instead they charge my credit card $60 there is no return on my credit card. I did not get the receipt because I said I'm not gonna need a receipt since I'm bringing it back. I called him about it when it showed up on my credit card . I called and reported it because it was on my credit card from Discover they told me without a receipt they could do anything. Their accounting system is 40 years old and they can't pull it up. My Credit card company is investigating it they have no accounting when they charge you your receipt reads all the same chemicals one does not itemize the item or tell you even what it is. I am turning them into the IRS because their accounting system is not legal. We should be able to identify what we bought and have some kind of accounting where they can look it up. They should be able to pull it up through your credit card number. I'm also turning them into the better business and the attorney general. They Charged me $130 for $80 chlorinator. Do not go there their prices are way too high as well. And they have no records. So they can charge on there what they want and you have no idea until your credit card comes through read more

I always feel like an unwelcome intruder and like I'm an inconvenient nuisance when I'm there. It's the closest pool place to our home but wouldn't go there if it wasn't. Hope they get some employees who understand the value of treating people with respect and kindness at some point. A little enthusiasm and hospitality can go a long way for repeat business. read more

Don't use for service unless you know exactly what they should do and can be there to watch them. They will not back up their work. They closed my pool wrong and now I have to pay over 20 grand to get it fixed. They admitted they did wrong but will not help me to get it fixed. Flat refusal. STAY AWAY! Horrible service, worse performance and about KILLED MY DOG! I bought a house with a pool a year ago as it was noted that they were the last company to open/close my pool. When they opened it I found out they had been opening and closing the pool for almost 20 years. When it came time to close the pool, I left many messages and never received a call back. Finally I got a hold of them and scheduled the closing. They called a couple days before to reschedule for a day I was out of town. I said they could do it in my absence if they couldn't reschedule for another day I was there since it took so long to get it setup in the first place. They left it in an extremely dangerous condition (picture attached), left a voicemail saying they would come back to fix it the next day. Instead my wife found my 13 year old dog under the pool cover the next day (they hadn't returned). He had fell in the deep end and swam through the toxic chemicals to the stairs and yelped until my wife found him that way. Instead of receiving an apology I just received a bill. Apparently this is the level of service that represents their company. read more
