While driving along the coast we stopped by a gift shop and asked the clerk for a recommendation for lunch. She suggested the Sunset Grille, so away we went. I'm really glad we listened to her. This was a great little spot for a sandwich and a beer. We decided to keep it simple for lunch - blackened chicken sandwich and turkey wrap. Both were very good. I was even able to enjoy a local craft draft beer (Pensacola Bay Brewing IPA) with my lunch. Very tasty! Service was good, although a little slow. They were quite busy for lunch, so no worries. The view was amazing! The place sits right on the water and all seating is outdoors. It was just what we needed to complete the drive along the coast. Sunset grille is great, & if you go at the right time, it is exactly what the name entails: a perfect place to watch the sunset. There are multiple benches to sit on a pier connected to the restaurant that people can watch the sunset, we sat there while we waited for our table. There was a half hour wait on a Friday night which I feel is pretty expected of a good restaurant. The food was pretty good. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer. They were seasoned well and came with a side of ranch and tartar sauce. I got the blackened snapper fish taco. It was okay. The coleslaw in the taco overpowered the fish. The snapper itself didn't have much flavor. The side of fries was pretty tiny. It was about 1/3 the size of a normal side. Service was pretty good and the atmosphere was a great ending to a day at the beach. read more

If you go at sunset, there is a nice view looking west. We had a party of 4 & being a local, I didn't order any seafood, instead I chose the reuben sandwich. My sandwich arrived promptly, but nobody else was served food, so the waitress asked to have it refired. Yes, you are in a tiny little paradise. Sunset Grille was the perfect way to kick off our beach week. Tucked away in Happy Harbor, it has prime viewing of sunset (duh) and plenty of wildlife viewing as well. You can drive up or come by water. Now to the reason you are reading this: The food! So fantastically yummy! We all ordered tacos(think wrap), 2 shrimp orders and one Mahi. All grilled. We had sweet fries, regular fries and cucumber salad for our sides. We launched our meal with fried calamari. Side note: the calamari comes with an amazing garlic dipping sauce. Their beach theme adult beverages are generously sized and well priced. Between the Covid-19 safety protocols, the delicious food, friendly wait staff and gorgeous views, we would not have changed a thing. The restaurant is perfectly named. You will definitely want to sit outside and watch the sun set while you eat because it's absolutely gorgeous. The food for me was just ok, or maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I had never been here, so I asked the waiter for his opinion between the couple items I was interested in. I wound up with grilled trigger fish and it was a bit overcooked. My two friends I was there with enjoyed their meals. Honestly overall this is a great little restaurant. The Grilled Grouper Po-Boy was mostly bread, lettuce & tomato. Very small thin piece of fish which I ended up just eating without the bread & trimmings. Somewhat disappointing considering the price. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Great recommendation! There was a wait, but you would find this anywhere during the Summer season. While we waited, we enjoyed a beverage. Our Waitress was pleasant and handled our group of 8 well. We started off with Appetizers. We ordered the Calamari and Cheese Curds. We were a little disappointed in the Calamari. The oil it was cooked in needed to be changed. I think if the oil had been fresh, the Calamari would have been good. Our friends ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Curds were average. However, after noticing the new wood decking on the outside dining area and the adjacent dock, I asked if it was new since Hurricane Sally. Our waitress smiled, and confirmed that the whole Harbour Marina complex had taken a big hit and they had just reopened in March. Then I asked, "How did the staff get through it?" She beamed and told me how the owner had continued to pay bonuses to all employees while the Marina was undergoing repairs.
