Turkey wrap, dry, not enough avocado
    Fawn G.

I like to order from different diners and decided last night to try Sunset Park diner. The other benefit was the promo for first time customers. I decided to order turkey burger deluxe and a turkey spinach avocado wrap for work lunch. The order arrived safely and all condiments asked for as well. The only disconnect was the greens, could have been fresher. The turkey burger was a nice size however, lacked seasoning and the bun overpowered the burger. The fries were a decent portion but no onion rings accompanied the burger usually deluxe orders add at least two rings, coleslaw was average. The turkey wrap was tasty but not fantastic and a bit dry.. I know avocado can be pricey but the serving in my wrap was minuscule. I will give SP another try, maybe order a breakfast item in the future. As for my recent order, I'm a bit disappointed. Review is for delivery only. .

    Beer battered onion rings

!!THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY!! The environment and atmosphere of the diner is AMAZING, it's very beautiful, seats were comfortable, music was great. The waiter was very very kind. Food was phenomenal we had the beer battered onion rings as an appetizer and they came out pretty fast, hot, and fresh, very good, 10/10, and you could taste the onion with the hint of beer batter. Gf had the chipotle chicken burrito, which was MASSIVE compared to what it cost. She could only finish half of it and it was easy 10/10. I had the pancakes with eggs and ham, 8/10, the pancakes were a good mix of fluffy and not too thin, but broke a bit too easily. Eggs were good but they were just eggs, and the ham was alright, had a bit of a weird texture to them but that could also could just be my taste in ham. Overall a 9/10 experience.

Looking for a late night diner treat after a night out at a local bar? This place hit the spot and it's open 24/7! Friendly service, food came out quick, and they do have a small selection of donuts too. Decent enough portion size for the price. Clean joint and large enough menu. Cash only. No complaints with our experience here.

    The menu and receipt

I was very disappointed when I got the receipt for the breakfast I ordered. I ordered 2 scramble eggs with corn beef hash $11.25, add cheese $2, onions and mushrooms .75 cents, side order of sausage $5.75 and coffee $3.25, plus 8.9% tax, total of $25.05. The receipt was completely different. Because I was adding onion and mushroom they said they had to place it as an omelette. IT WAS SCRAMBLED! They charged me on the receipt 1 omelette $12, added cheese $2, onions and mushroom .75cents, sausage $5.75, corn beef hash $7, coffee $3.25, plus 8.9% tax, total $33.48. It seems like I was charged $7.75 extra. It didn't make sense. It's not because of the cost because this is New York but how it is in the menu and how you order it. I tried to speak with the Manager and was told because I added the onions and mushroom they had to charge it as an omelette. But then as an omelette seems like the corn beef hash didn't come with it so had to pay as a side. The food was good! The waitress was great! It's not just the cost, I was just not satisfied with how I was charged.

To be quite honest we were literally starving after attending a kids birthday party and couldn't find a place to grab some early morning breakfast . We drove past this diner and surprisingly for Christmas eve morning it was a full house . It was a typical diner setting , booth seats , no frills .... But everyone was so helpful and we didn't take long to get seated. We ordered the basics but also decided to try a french toast combo called the sunset and a side of fried cheese (dont ask, his head was pounding) Food was brought pretty fast and everything tasted great ! I literally have no complaints, and it was typical diner prices ! Such a pleasant surprise. Thanks guys

Great food and serving! They don't accept card payments so be ready with a cash. ATM machine is available on-site - transaction fee is charged though even for US banks/cards. Overall, it was a great experience!

    Chocolate chip pancakes

12am I'm starving & want pancakes sooooo here we are & let me tell you something. QUALITY diner. The chocolate chip pancakes were made from scratch and were absolutely delicious. I'm not a fan of eggs but when you're getting them on a deal, why not. But now the turkey bacon. See. I love me some turkey bacon and eat it frequently. When our waitress asked if I would like the turkey bacon well done I hesitated for a moment, I had never been asked that before. Since she stumped me I obliged and I am so happy I did because the cook on that turkey bacon was EVERYTHING. It had a beautiful char and smoky flavor without being burnt or too crunchy. Honestly some of the best turkey bacon I've ever had. I'll be back, no question.

My only gripe. There were only 3 Shrimp in the whole dish. If you offer half and half, truly make it half and half. Sesame wings- sticky and sweet. Nicely seasoned and prepared. Shrimp scampi- tasty and juicy. Very fresh and deelish!! Butternut squash soup- very good and silky. Brussel sprouts- not pictured or on the menu but, they came out nice and toasty. I also ordered a Tito's and club soda from the bar. I appreciated the un-flat club soda. Our server Ilia G was very knowledgable and charismatic. Our food came out in great time. Price points were decent. I'd definitely stop in again!

My server was very attentive throughout the entire dinner without being overbearing. I wanted to mention her name but unfortunately misplaced my receipt. I love the fact that when I chose the calamari, that they do have the tentacles as well, and not just the rings. For Peaches Prime to meet that one thing was a BIG PLUS to me for a restaurant that looks a little bit more upscale. But the icing on the cake was the fact that I was able to ask for more calamari with the tentacles in less rings so for me that is a win! The drink glasses are quite small like most upscale restaurants are so by the time you put ice in a cup you don't have that much to drink. I ordered shrimp and grits and it has kale in it with mushrooms and the flavor profile was good, but it's not like a southern profile for grits. A southern flavor profile is more rich and hearty. It was good, but the grits were on the runny side. I was provided a fork. I thought it was a small joke at first. You 100% require a spoon and fork with the shrimp and grits. You need a fork for the shrimp and to remove the tails using your butter knife, but to eat the dish you need a spoon. I like the fact that the kitchen did have a little kick of spices. One thing that is always underrated when you go out to eat at a restaurant anywhere in the world, but especially in North America even in Canada, is that food usually comes out to your table warm not hot. But the food came out piping hot and I love that fact. So that's ANOTHER WIN!! They have non-gender restrooms. They were very clean. The hallway that leads to the restrooms seem to be in a different restaurant. I wanted dessert, but I didn't have the room for it after my delicious meal. I definitely will be back but it's not a restaurant that I can come to every week or else. It's not gonna be good for my diet. I would eat too much!

I highly recommend getting an assortment of dips and small plates - 2-3 dishes per person was just right for us. I can't pick a favorite item of the evening: The Israeli Salad Hummus was some of the best/most flavorful hummus I've had, the Whipped Ricotta was perfect and so fluffy, and the Matbucha & Labne are also great additions to the table. They make a really good Falafel here, and the Crispy Cauliflower were perfectly crispy and well-sauced. The Chocolate Babka dessert is a great way to end your meal, and they do make a solid espresso martini for those wondering. The only thing I was not a fan of is their drink menu - all of the cocktails are spicy or smoky. Although you can sub out different alcohols, it would be nice to have a few other options.
