The waitress working the late late shift is sweet and could not be more lovely. Might be our new favorite 24/7 diner. Fast service, excellent diner food. Everything you could possibly want in a Brooklyn diner. Recommend the tacos, 2 egg breakfast, and curly fries (best item to order at 1am). Donuts are probably much better in the morning versus midnight. Have yet to try one in the daylight hours, it's tough when you're living the night owl life. Sunset Park Diner harkened back to the places of my younger days and makes me jealous we don't have cheap, tasty and quick joints like this for breakfast where I am now in California. Got the three egg veggie omelette which was loaded with spinach and broccoli and came with potatoes and toast (you can get wheat if you ask.) Decent portions and well cooked eggs. It wasn't greasy and my breakfast was super yummy! It was just the right amount of food. Total was $5.75-in fact our total bill for two with drinks came to $16 total. Who said NY was expensive!!! For a Saturday it wasn't super crowded but still buzzing and had a nice vIbe. Homey and clean decor that felt cozy. Cash only, they are open 24 hours and deliver. Their menu isn't as extensive as some other diners, which is to their credit- they appear to be focusing on fewer things and doing them right. Omelettes, burgers, grilled cheese and lemonade are all excellent and the tacos are a delicious surprise, and very legit. Those donuts are the real star, though. Pros: buffalo chicken wrap, curly fries, croissant, ham lettuce tomato cheese on roll, Turkey lettuce tomato cheese on hero. Cons: I ordered 2 croissant only received 1, chili cheese fries was soaked in oil (horrible), tomato on the sandwiches are cut over the top thick so your sandwich looks full but its really not, chicken noodle soup I ordered it didn't receive it WTF, and finally 4 donuts 2 chocolate 2 vanilla they all felt soggy was placed in a white paper bag on top of each other sticking to one another and all the vanilla on one of the donuts came completely off because it was stuck to the bottom of the bag. Stopped in for breakfast on my way to a meeting. Food was quickly served, cooked the way I wanted and tasted great. Service was good and the price was reasonable. Then I saw that they had donuts. After chatting with the manager I learned that they made the donuts themselves. I got a plain cruller (since what better way to test a donut than to have just a plain donut). It was great. Browned to perfection and tasty as all get out. Definitely will return and maybe next time leave with more than one donut. read more

They might be the only decent diner in Sunset Park. They recently upgraded the interior and store front face lift. They look much nicer! I like their Mexican style breakfast. My kids love to buy some doughnuts to take home. Currently cash only but I hope they start accepting credit card in the ne'er future for more convenience. read more

This used to be a piece of shit hole in the wall bus stop diner with food ranging from delicious to below average and mixed service wait staff. It has since transformed themselves into one of Brooklyn's finest diners! After purchasing the next door space, they renovated completely with a new look, new menu, and new outlook on their future. I am a regular and always will be. One suggestion - do not (yet) make this your after club spot. It brings a seedy and oftentimes drunk and angry crowd. It's 3 in the morning, I haven't ate since 10pm, there is nothing to eat at home. I'm starving, I can't sleep. What do I do? Every time this situation arises, I order from Sunset Park Diner. Honestly, I don't know what else is open at this hour and delivers in ~20 minutes. So I default to this place. The food is okay, but it's the middle of the night. I'm not expecting five star mouth watering food. Im expecting something filling, something that tastes decent and is quick. I usually order the Gyro Wrap (not really steak, just one big piece of sausage), some French Toast, some buffalo wings, and whatever else on the menu I may be craving in the middle of the night. Always ask them to cook the French Toast longer. One time it came soggy, tasting like grits. The wings are always good, although a bit on the expensive side. The Gyro wrap is inferior to the ones I get from those stands on the streets, but hey, it's better than anything I could make. Location of choice for 3 am delivery. read more

I ordered delivery from this diner at 3:30 AM when I was stuck at work without food. I called to order but found out that they do not take credit card unless you order online. I ordered online and it said that it would arrive at 3:55 - 4:30 AM and it actually got there at 3:40 AM... only took a little over 10 minutes after I placed the order. I don't care how close the place was, that is unheard of to me. The special instructions I provided were followed precisely and the food arrived warm and tasty - I ordered the Grilled Cheese sandwich with Bacon and a side of french fries. I definitely recommend this place to anyone near Sunset Park who is hungry at odd hours and are feeling lazy. Small place but don't overlook it! I was in the neighborhood and we were seeking a diner for lunch when we found this on Yelp. Was a bit skeptical based on reviews. Once we got in, you'll see how tiny it is but I like that each booth feels semi-private. Smaller booths but consider it a cozy spot. We ordered the pancakes, western omelette and grilled chicken salad. Overall the food was really good! The homefries were made with well-seasoned, soft potatoes. The western omelette had a nice amount of filling with peppers, onions and ham. Definitely more than the three eggs they note in the menu. Generous portion! I also liked that they gave shout outs to local companies in the area and named their sandwiches after them. Very sweet. The toast was just the way I liked it - hot with melted butter and crunch when you bite into it. I can't say that I always eat toast at every diner but I did here. The grilled chicken had a lot of flavor. Even their fresh squeezed orange juice was yummy. The pancakes were nice! Super fluffy and light, delicious with the syrup. Went there tonight just to stop in for some coffee. I really enjoyed the feel of the place, nice and cozy and everything you want out of a divey diner. I only got a coffee and a cruller, but I enjoyed it. The coffee was so-so but I'm sure if I had asked for some kind of artificial sweetner (yes I loooove that awful stuff!) I would have gotten it. The cruller was tasty and perfect for dunking. Their sign outside says "free delivery" so I don't know why some other reviews suggest they don't deliver. They are cash only and have an atm inside. I didn't get any food, but the grilled cheese my friend got looked pretty decent. Looks like a nice place, I'll definitely be back for late night snacks. read more

Hankering for breakfast, I strolled in here. Good diner smells were wafting out the front door. I ordered the golden pancakes (3 to an order) with bacon and a side of home fries to go, which came up really fast and was hot. The portions were plentiful and at least two people could easily get full off of this one order, which cost $9. The pancakes were good; the bacon was crispy, which I like; but the home fries were underseasoned, still passable once I added some pepper, garlic powder and chives. I am becoming a regular here as it is right around the corner from me; I feel welcome and they don't rush me to do anything. It is the first place I ate in my new neighborhood and immediately I knew I would be spending some time here. It can accomodate a good number of visitors and has a calm, yet excited energy about it. The food is very cheap, I mean cheap; I forget I'm in New York actually. This morning I had coffee, 2 eggs, a large serving of potatoes and two pieces of toast for $3.64. Really, it is f$%ing cheaper than McDonald's! Better and more food, better service and comfortable. As lunch goes: the Gyros are good and the Tacos aren't bad either. I dared to try this place again, and I am happy to report they have gotten their act together! You can order online and write in specific requests and they will get it right, I call and the people are more friendly and if they aren't friendly, sounding short with you, they are just busy and trying to not leave others on hold too long, even during those times my order has been correct, and my food has been prompt and HOT when it's arrived. I have been eating here since November regularly and have not had one order messed up. They have raised their prices since then though and I don't like that they don't send out new menus when they change their prices because it looks shady when you want to order something and it was $10 less three nights ago. I took a star off because the portions are small for diner food at this price point. They are charging as much as George's now, but George's gives you huge portions in nice take out containers, and this place is giving you tiny portions in Styrofoam so what am I paying for here? I don't mind paying but if you're raising the prices, raise the quality, or amount of food too. I did pay $10 something for chili cheese fries and it was pretty hefty at least, but that was the only thing that was a big portion and every entree we got was over $10. No more hot open turkey :( that was my favorite. No more can chili though either ;) but seriously $7 for 5 mozzarella sticks? Some things are a little bogus price wise with these new upgrades. THE DONUTS: Sometimes I order here, just because I want donuts. Every donut I have tried from here has been pretty awesome. I don't even go to a Dunkin Donuts because they can't compare. It isn't as big as normal city diners and can leave you waiting for a seat. The food is good American diner food. Great breakfast brunch spot with a good cup of coffee. It's just a diner so don't come here for special effects or wifi and machiato's.
