I saw the reviews. I saw the location. And still had hopes for this place. It's like a real, hardcore breakfast diner. The food was dry and the waitress too. She seemed fed up while taking orders. I read a review on the bathrooms but when I went they were like really clean just tiny. They did have a special of 2 mimosas for 6$ which I taught was awesomeness! Very disappointed, I called to place an order for breakfast and the lady said they aren't doing to go orders right now. I asked why since I've never been there, maybe they only do them at certain times? She said because we are too busy right now. I guess they are ok with turning down business. We love this place! Have been eating here for just about 7 years! We love the whole staff, they all know us, and are so friendly with our kids! They have a giant chalk board in the back room, and offer coloring books to entertain kids, so it's makes everyone's dining experience great! Please don't ever change a thing! I really like this restaurant. It's very cozy (appears to be in an old home), and has a food bar which I always sit at. The employees are friendly, know their regulars, and the owners are nice. One of the owners nicknamed me The Jalapeño Lady because I always order a side of them. . I appreciate the fact that the cooks are willing to make my jalapeños just the way I love them, every time. Did late breakfast there yesterday. Was seated quickly, coffee and water arrived right after we were seated. Order taken just as quickly by the owner, after a bit of good funned banter. I had a BLT loaded with a nice amount of avocado, it was great. The potato salad alone is incredible. Partners pancakes (Banana/nut) were great, short stack that he couldn't finish!! Wait staff is very attenative, your coffee cup or soda glass won't go dry. If you want a great breakfast/lunch you don't have to drive anyplace else. read more

I'm such a picky eater and this place is great! Veggie or Denver omelet, paired with eggs and hashbrowns is what I always order.. Everything is so filling. And love love love their freshly squeezed orange juice! IT TASTES FRESHLY SQUEEZED unlike those who say it's fresh and it's not...yeah freshly poured out of a plastic bottle. The place itself is not much to look at, but if you are more about the food rather than the atmosphere, I would recommend this one. We went for lunch, but one of our dining companions had banana pancakes and I love when they cook the bananas in the batter... I had the Mexican Caesar Tostada.. loved it.. lots of food and they don't skimp on any of the items.. btw, i asked for no sour cream and they subbed extra guacamole without even asking - awesome. Had breakfast here after a lousy stay at Agua Caliente. This place is a little out of the way IMO, but the Trailblazer omelet I had was really tasty, as were the hashbrowns. There is a back section you have to walk thru the kitchen to get to, which was a little awkward, and the service was polite but slow. If you're not in a hurry, I would recommend it, but if you order an OJ, ask for "no pulp" unless you like it chewy. read more

I have heard a lot of things about this place over the last three years that I've lived nearby and all of them have been great. With that being said I went and checked it out last week with a friend for breakfast I was a bit surprised. First off there is carpet all over the restaurant and that is something that I usually do not enjoy. Carpet in restaurants tend to get greasy and dirty. We then walked through the kitchen to a small back room where we got to choose our table. And after what seemed a long while somebody finally came to take our order.. I opted for the chorizo and egg burrito while my friend had the chicken fried steak and eggs.. When the food finally came it was just your typical average breakfast nothing bad but nothing super special. Meh! read more

I've been trying some of the cafés in town for breakfast. Unfortunately I must say that this café had the worst service. Although the food was decent, I felt that I was invisible for quite a while. . .to the point of almost leaving. I don't mind waiting if it's busy, (which it wasn't) as long as I'm acknowledged with "I'll be right with you" or something along those lines. Wow! What a find. We just happened to see it pulling out of the movie theater, and thought we'd give it a shot, and boy were we glad we did. Had trouble deciding between breakfast and dinner and tell he said the fried chicken was tonight's special, so we went that route, we were not disappointed. 3 ridiculously large pieces of chicken, batter fresh made, fried perfect, just incredibly delicious. Got a side of biscuits and gravy, could not completely give up on the breakfast concept, and it was also incredible. & I tend to be a bit of a snob about biscuits and gravy. Our server Thomas was prompt helpful and friendly. An outstanding experience, right up until the very low bill, which then they made lower by telling us that we could buy a gift card to get 20% off. Imagine a pancake of that size without a gooey center, with (or without) plump, juicy blueberries, melted butter and syrup.
